    Thank you for this!

    This is on my list of skills to refine and perfect. I can make a crude net, but not a strong and pretty one.

    I have fond childhood memories of watching relatives in South Louisiana making and repairing cast nets and shrimp nets. Net making has fascinated me ever since.

    i have only made a dip net. i done it free hand and it was a chore doing it that way. took me a couple days. you really need to use a needle and gauge. remembering how to use and tie certain knots is the real challenge. at least to me. recently i seen a guy saying he makes nets instead of hanging up and working on them he puts in his lap and does it like its a knitting project.
