Note article's "places like day cares ... also at risk".

The sentence allows for the senior citizens to worry. Think how many Social Security checks no longer needed if ...

Was always wondering, ... besides the face mask, no push to wear the thin non-latex gloves when out in public.

 

They actually are, as per people I know over there. The shelves are empty of masks AND gloves. We are not hearing about the gloves, but I don't know why... The manufacturers of masks and gloves over there are having a field-day...

Appreciate the update on the North Carolina situation.

Just imagine if this corona virus scare panicked the public.

No mask, no gloves, no stores with shelf medicines, ......

 

I apologize, I was referring to the spreading in Wuhan, not in Raleigh. Are they not pushing gloves as well in NC? Do you know any local forums we could share that heads up with?

 

So far, the only two US cases reported are in Washington State and Chicago. Lets hope that a lot of people from the US. and other countries didn't decide to go to Wuhan for Christmas this year!

 

There are no confirmed cases in NC.
There is one possible case being handled.

Wearing masks and gloves won't help if they aren't worn and disposed of properly.

There's no need for any "panic" at this point.
People simply need to take the normal precautions to prevent illness.

There's never a need for any panic. Panic is an uncontrolled fear coupled to the wrong actions.

It's not the Prepper community needing to place max emphasis on panic. We know the fundamentals.

The problem is generated by the "sheltered suburbs" population. This mass of American humanity does not take precautions to prevent illness. Many - repeat: many - do not get no cost flu shots nor maintain a healthy diet. Won't discuss basic hygiene; Walmarts are visible training aids.

Once the soccer mom hears the kids coughing, they're loaded into the subsidized van for a trip to the hospital. The accumulated circumstances generates a panic and the standard crash is at the intersection. No ambulance sirens heard because the few ambulances are already on assignments. The soccer mom didn't know the rush to the hospital would be a rush to the overflowing parking section. The hospital is already super-saturated with problems....to include infection control.

Now for the bad news. Our nation is not yet set up to handle mass medical care.

 

The patient in Raleigh does NOT have the Coronavirus.
Test results were returned last night.
There are currently 5 confirmed cases in the US and all of them had traveled to China.
