I'm sure the novel has some good material worth learning about. I personally use the WWII partisans in the eastern European forests for my source about survival.

 

The plot looks interesting. I wonder how they deal with some of the logistical or infrastructure issues. How do you generate power in a bunker (for 15 years)? How do you maintain fresh air and sanitation/plumbing? I will assume nobody got sick or had serious health issues. Maintenance medication? How did they get there in the first place?

Sounds like a good Fathers' Day gift I can order.

My exact views also.

These people are in psychological denial coupled with a little extra expendable money from our welfare state.

 

I like to call it "more money than good sense". Not atypical.

 

I'd rather take my chances than live with 50 people for 15 years underground. I'd go insane.

 

This isn't just fiction. there are more people and places that are doing this sort of thing than you would imagine.
