This is definitely involving short term preparedness !

Our complaints have finally been acted on !

Currently, at least prior to above link's activation, US hurricanes were measured only with wind speed. Yet the bigger danger is the flood waters. This is where the deaths occur.

The Europeans have been using a better model - their Carville Scale. We're now catching up.

Foot Note: I don't remember if "the Europeans" meand the Europeans or the EU. My personal belief is that the continent was conquored and we're just witnessing the lag factor.
