If true ... it's not inflation; it's DEFLATION.

I'm an old man. If I wasn't, I'd been in worry mode to the point of experiencing cold sweats.

Would have at the ready my non-USNS Southern Comfort bottle and resupplies already opened and staged for consumption.

Deflation is a real fear.

The few that can avoid it are those living off the land and not involved in an economy.
