    I think a lot of what we call shtf what about the Pilgrims when they hit land in the new America's did they think hey shtf it's bad what do we do the naked Indians are hogging all the food we have no skills because we did not practice be for the shtf any of you think about how it must have been

    Well being who & what I am, yes I have given this more than a little thought, but back then the lifestyle even in the towns & cities were a lot different to now. Sure, wealthy families would probably know little about survival, but the middling sort would have a better idea. There were actually advisory notices & letters written advising new colonists on what to take with them to the new world. They were a different breed back then for the most part.
