    Laetiporus Portentosus is one of the main plant tinders that I use for fire lighting with flint & steel & the fire-bow method. But there are other Polypores that serve the same purpose, & they grow pretty much worldwide. Take a good look at the images of Polypore Fungus & see if you can find any on your next forest walk.
