    Good morning all,

For me, this is great news.

The US political and economic future is no longer being neglected.

I do giggle a bit whenever reading about Mississippi being a knowledge area for Polar class vessels. Of course, this is just giggling; we're no longer needing a cold location to develop and glue together these type of units.

    Would hope nuclear propulsion used.

Extremely doubt it will be nuclear. I wont be surprised if its going to be powered by another iteration of GE LM2500

    Good afternoon Varuna,

Nuclear propulsion is much more powerful.

Plus, the refueling question for GE power plants: Where would the vessels get refueled without leaving the theater of operations?

This is a critical shortfall of the current US military posture/infrastructure. We are outclassed and outmanned in this theater of operation. Hopefully Trump can move this forward before the deep state deletes him from the White House.

I'm more aware on the benefits of nuclear propulsion. However US vessels particularly those of USN surface fleet seem to married to GE LM2500. And with nuclear propulsion there will be political pressure from all those fake environmentalist whose taking donation money from petroleum industry.

IMO better stick to Wärtsilä for arctic environment, elsewhere either MAN or Caterpillar

    Good morning Varuna,

Can fake environmentalists and the petroleum industry be "bought off" ?

With the Federal Reserve notes flooding the economy, everyone can get a share.

There might not be anything to buy with the "money" if deflation arrives here.

Keep seat belt tightly fastened. All Hades can break loose.

Nuclear propulsion and even for secondary support systems...means that there are only a very very handful of shipyards who could even handle this kind of work...have the proper licensing and skills ...people.....versus gas turbine et al.

Gas turbine means she would not get to far from fuel source..gas turbines use up a lot of fuel.
