    A rescue drone is being developed.

    Some of the related ideas are not new. In the 1950s the US Army had a backpack contraption to lift a soldier from A to B. Also in the 1950s, there was a platform that could lift a soldier from A to B.

    The article's rescue drone is "merely" using a drone aircraft that is being modernized with computers and audio - visual functions. For the US market the unit will need to address the heavier weight of Americans needing rescue. Also: heavy-duty safety belt with quick release buckle and air bag needed.
