I will say this, I have infinite respect for Jewish Resistance groups who killed lots of German National Socialists (NAZIs) during WWII. Copper jacketed lead is used for two or three reasons instead of solid copper. Cost and weight and the fact that the lead mushrooms and makes a bigger wound channel. You will get a little more velocity with copper due to weight. It will penetrate really well and break bones but doesn't offer much much mushrooming so it will make for a smaller wound channel. In that way, it will be somewhat like shooting FMJ ammo.

Hirtenberg used to make ammo loaded with solid copper bullets. The bullets were not truncated cone, they were cones, period. Their velocities were outrageously high. The bullets did not expand, however the hydrostatic shock given off was profoundly damaging to tissue. I think this ammo got banned in certain countries (USA?). Why? Because these bullets go right through bullet-proof vests.

There are shotgun shell manufacturers who use brass slugs.

These bullets will of course be longer and could result in compressed loads. Or when seated into the case they may naturally rest a bit forward in the case such that the bullet does not have to "jump" to the rifling (this phenom distorts bullets somewhat). Either way, accuracy could be increased. The .308 is accurate because of the reality of most loads being compressed. Also, target-shooters load bullets so that when the cartridge is inserted into the chamber, its ogive region rests right on the beginning of the rifling.

One should continually be looking-out for over-pressure signs. If worried about bolt face deformity, one could always keep a no-go gauge handy. This was an issue with Enfields. Armorers kept an array of bolt faces, so that "squished /scrunched" heads could be replaced. I OFTEN have had split shoulders on .303 cases (1950s ammo), however this was usually due to the mercuric primers having eroded / weakened the brass. The Greek .303 ammo had annealed necks & shoulders and had non-mercuric primers (manufactured for Gurkha forces guarding Hong Kong). The Greek ammo was the best I've ever had in the way of ex-military. The ammo also had lacquered primers.

For accuracy, I always liked a slightly compressed load. That was always the one flaw that I found when reloading with unique was that even a super MAX load was a loose load in the case. When I was target shooting I did like the old time shooters and started each aim with the handgun pointed straight up to have the powder down and against the primer for fast and even ignition. You would only notice that making a difference when your groups were getting tiny and almost one hole.
