Yes........this is a very huge indicator of where things stand. I have a thread going on this issue on a different forum. One thing that I am shocked at is the speed with which some of these explode so quickly to anarchy.

I wasted four years of my life at RIT in Rochester, New York from 1966 through 1969 all the while the city burned and was torn apart with riots. Anti-war riots and Civil rights riots, and huge violent union labor strikes and riots. I never understood why they burn those tires, the stench of burning tires seemed to prevail the entire four years.

When that period of my life was complete, I caught a flight to Alaska and have never seen Rochester again. But I got educated in many ways during that period.

Note: There is a anarchy riot in Chile right now that involves over a half million humans. That is a lot of pissed'off humans.

 

Riots in Chile? That is surprising. Since Pinochet "left power", Chile has been very stable.

 

Well, my respect for Chileans just jumped up a few notches. They have bigger balls than we do. We are putting up with much worse, more intrusive issues and acting like nothing is wrong while the Chileans are out in the streets already getting some concessions.

The European Union has zero choice concerning the need for austerity measures. Actually, their banks in Spain, Greece, and Italy have gone broke, dead meat central, tot, fin. German banks are in deep doo-doo, yet they are the only banks propping up the euro. People say that industry is dowing well over there. All I can say is that they'd better be, 'cause they are never going to pay-off their debts even in the best of times. Broke is broke.

Chile's capital of Santiago has been rocked by riots driven largely by students, leading to President Sebastian Pinera declaring a state of emergency over the city, at the end of a week which by Friday witnessed increasingly violent unrest force the shutdown of the entire metro system, and which turned central areas into a war zone as protesters clashed with police.

Buildings and metro stations have been set on fire, and over 150 police officers injured, as students were seen in running clashes with security forces. The high-rise corporate headquarters of electric utility Enel was filmed going up in flames on Saturday as military troops were confirmed to be patrolling central streets and neighborhoods.

Honestly, true real anarchy could be our saving grace, problem is most people do not understand what anarchy actually is. They think it's melon heads running around burning shit, spray painting red A's on everything or just destroying everything. Based on some of the comments above might I suggest reading up on anarchy, which is more often known as volunteerism these days since people can't seem to divorce the word anarchy from images out of MadMax. At it's basics, it's actually simple live and let live life style ruled by the non-aggression principle.

 

For anyone here that may have been lucky enough to never encounter riots I suggest looking up how to get away from one without getting hurt. I suppose unless you want to be there....

But they can form amazingly fast with little warning. For example I went into a shop once in Zimbabwe. Just a quick grab bread stop. Came out into the back of a riot. Far enough from the front, but the combination of pushing, yelling and tear gas even that far back does not make for the best afternoon.

In South Africa they love burning things (including humans) and throwing rocks at cars. And they are violent. Absolutely not the place to hang around or draw unwanted attention.

 

From the perspective of people like us, these folk are rioting over precious little compared to what is over the horizon. These bad-boy pretenders are "losing it" because they are ticked-of over this or that.

So we look ahead to days when governments will have all gone into utter bankruptcy. When I talk bankruptcy, I'm not just talking currencies devaluing into nothingness, I'm talking about governments not being able to get workers, police, even soldiers to lift a finger for them. We're talking about stateside military grabbing some supplies and heading home to take care of their own families and their own communities. As I keep telling people, Russia can't get recruits to show up for military service -- here and now, as I write this!

In this community, this website, we already know full good and well that the SWHTF (the Sh## Will Hit The Fan) and we also know that nobody is going to be there for us. We know that it will be upon us to protect our own.

Well over 50% of the general populace of any Western country not only does not believe that everything could come apart, they have no thoughts of such. "Can't happen to me." Were you to tell them that they could lose their cell phone service for more than a month, they would call you mad. When they lose their cell phone service, they will go mad. I am not exaggerating. You know I'm not. They will go bat-sh## crazy. No electricity and they will either go catatonic or hyper-violent. We're talking hyper-disassociation.
