Having lived and worked all over the UK including London, Bradford and Birmingham I would refute that LW. However as you are a former member of the BNP I can understand that they're your views and I will not be able to change them.

Knife crime anywhere is a bad thing but the figures that are available for knife crime include police cautions for possession of a knife, even when that knife was not used or intended for use in a crime. The figures that you actually need to look at are the number of charges for murder, assault or wounding.

There are far more effective ways of killing mass numbers of humans than firearms. Terrorists use crude things. Humans crush like graham crackers when driven over by trucks. Terrorists are now going to chlorine compounds to make explosives -- fertilizer bombs are picked-up by nitrogenous compound detectors.

OK, semi-autos get banned. The tens of millions of "assault rifles" are confiscated (and miraculously a civil war is not set off). What's a terrorist to use?! He has plenty of compounds and gasses to work with.

Ban semi-autos. The crazies will learn more effective means of terror.

No-go zones were covered in the US press long before Trump ever came onto the political scene. They became news during Obama's administration.

People love to blame crap on President Trump these days and accuse him of all kinds of lies. Lets see, so far on this forum he has been accused of racism but not one person making the accusation could post one racist quote, only leftist press articles that made accusations, he has been accused of creating policy and locking children in cages but that policy was started by Obama with no attacks by the press. He has been accused of causing the two most recent shootings when in fact the El Paso shooter stated that President Trump had nothing to do with it and who's manifesto read more like a Bernie Sanders follower. The Dayton Ohio shooter was a Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders supporter who couldn't wait for socialism to happen. No one ever accused Obama of causing mass shootings even though he had many more on his watch than Donald Trump.

The globalists are doing more damage to free countries all over the world by trying to flood them with people's from 3rd world countries and trying to overwhelm the systems in them as well as trying to undermine the sovereignty in western free countries. Merkel already stated that Germany is no longer German and should give up it's sovereignty.

These uninformed US voters who are clamoring for socialism are mostly college aged and under citizens who have been indoctrinated with the propaganda they have been fed in the public and college school systems for the last 25 years. Almost every US Citizen who came to America legally from a socialist nation is totally against socialism because they know where it leads and what life is really like under socialism.

The UK voted for a clear BREXIT many many months ago but it's leaders are obviously ignoring the will of the voters and you still remain under control of the EU.

As for America's firearms, I don't expect any citizen from any country that has willingly given up their firearms to understand as they probably have never had to use them to throw off tyranny or ever tried. We do need our AR15s and it isn't for hunting deer. It is to protect ourselves from the tyrannical government if they ever try to push us back into a situation where they no longer do as the voters wish. We are very close to that point if not already there.

I think that if a second revolution ever does happen it will be over the government trying to disarm the American citizen. They are way too late and too many citizens have awoken to their plan to shackle the US citizen. The us citizen's firearms and the US Constitution are the only things standing in the way of the globalists plans for a one world government.

Those of you in supposed free countries all over the world should be thankful that US citizens are standing fast to keep our firearms. We are one of the last bastions of freedom.

lets put this old chestnut to sleep shall we? USA did not "defend" Britain, by the time the US decided to get involved (1941 only AFTER Pearl Harbour) the Battle of Britain was all over and the Nazis had moved on to the Eastern Front.
there were no American boots on UK soil until 1944 in the run up to D Day.
yes I know there were some American flyers in Britain before that but they were the exception.

What anybody "needs" is nobody's business but their own. No one has any right to judge what another person needs. IMHO nobody "needs" a car that goes 150 miles an hour, but there are thousands sold every year.

The so-called assault rifle is semiautomatic; one trigger pull, one round fired, just like any other rifle. It is a reliable, proven, effective, platform for self defense, and is sold at affordable prices. I can protect myself, and my family from any predator, two legged or four legged. That is why I have one.

In a city whose official population is over 7,000,000 there have been 111 murders so far this year, the equates to a murder rate of less than 2 per 100,000 compared to pretty much anywhere else in the world that is statistically low. Since many Mexican cities top 100 per 100,000 and some US cities like St Louis have a murder rate of 65.8 murders per 100,000 population....it's about context LoneWolf. Statistically London is safe.

The idea of no go zones anywhere in the UK is pure fantasy, it is total media BS LastOutlaw. Once upon a time I would have thought twice before going into certain parts of Belfast but these days it's a friendly city.
My second point to you LastOutlaw is that I'm well aware that the average guy who buys an AR15 is buying it for home defence and taking down to the range, it's a good gun, an enthusiasts gun with a wide variety of possible custom options.....I'm also aware that very few of them are full military spec., they only look like assault rifles.
The reason that they're being demonised in the American press is that they're so good that they've become the weapon of choice.
Finally, you need to understand that Brexit is an ongoing process that requires us to throw away and rewrite 40 years worth of legislation and trade treatise, that takes time and is very very complicated, anyone who thinks that can be done overnight is living in fantasy land. It is happening, it just takes time.

    Good morning Ystranc,

Only a tangent to this overall conversation, ...
    Re "statistically London is safe";

Some years ago, Washington, D.C. had a "mayor for life" (4 non-consecutive terms), Mayor Marion Barry.

One one reelection campaign he was quoted as saying: "Except for the murders, the crime rate is down".

it might be statistically low but it dosent make it right, one murder is one murder too many, I suppose that kind of flippancy is normal in the 21st century. human life is cheap.
it is reported even more women and girls are carrying knives now.
as for no go zones, we had them in Plymouth in the 60s, parts of the city where less than 3 policemen together would not go(mostly parts of Devonport which was always a bit "rough").
+ I think you'll find the population of London is over 8 million not 7.

    Good morning Lone Wolf,

The US decided to "get involved" well prior to the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914. It was mostly quiet, behind the scenes efforts because of our Neutrality Act.

FDR's "Rainbow Plans" to defend allied shipping and the Atlantic was not for the account of Germany.

Recall the 2 September 1940 "Destroyer Deal". The Brits got some old destroyers (and some other non-manifested stuff outside the view of Congressional staffs hostile to FDR). In return the US got some base rights in Newfoundland, Jamaica, Bermuda - 2 bases in Bermuda and still active well into the 1990s to defend the US against ... well, not sure, but Bermuda much nicer than Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

Lend Lease was not for hospital ships.

America's Neutrality Act generated the joke "Waging Peace".

In all fairness to the historical record, General Eisenhower got a British aide de camp, Lt Kay Summerby.

As I said, banning assault rifles won't make any difference to your problems, a thoughtful shooter will kill more with a bolt action rifle than some idiots spraying with an AK47.

And what 'difficulties' do you envisage LW? Can you be more specific, maybe reference some evidence? Knife killings? bad things, kids with cheap kitchen knives killing mainly each other / gang members. The USA has drive by shootings instead...just children playing.

I don't know anything about the Lord Mayor other than he is very experienced in the financial industry which is ideal when running a metropolis I would have thought. Has he got a twitter account? They seem popular with some politicians these days ;)

Just as people in the UK are not getting truthful information or are uninformed for one reason or another about the US so are the Americans in the US about most European countries. In fact there is pretty much a complete blackout in the US about Brexit as well as the Yellow Vest movement in France. Main Stream media is to blame for much of the issues in this thread including the blame of Donald Trump for numerous issues, the blame on the AR15 for gun crimes and probably most if not all of the recent mass shootings world wide. The lifting of the Smith-Mundt act allowed propaganda to be used on the American people and propaganda is clearly in full force today.

Nine Themes in El Paso Shooter’s Manifesto the Media Ignored to Blame Trump
    Aaron Klein7 Aug 20194,131
NEW YORK — In recent days, major news media outlets and prominent Democratic Party politicians have wildly sought to connect President Trump’s rhetoric and policies to an unhinged manifesto attributed to the 21-year-old accused of murdering 22 people in cold blood and injuring dozens when he opened fire in a Walmart in El Paso.

Below are nine key sections of the manifesto that the news media are largely ignoring in a clear effort to link Trump to the shooter’s warped ideology.

1 – The shooter stressed the environmental aspects of his motivations by naming the manifesto “The Inconvenient Truth,” clearly utilizing the namesake of Al Gore’s climate alarmist documentary.

2 – The screed ranted against Democrats and Republicans and specifically blamed corporations for allegedly fueling economic woes.

In short, America is rotting from the inside out, and peaceful means to stop this seem to be nearly impossible. The inconvenient truth is that our leaders, both Democrat AND Republican, have been failing us for decades. They are either complacent or involved in one of the biggest betrayals of the American public in our history. The takeover of the United States government by unchecked corporations. I could write a ten page essay on all the damage these corporations have caused, but here is what is important.

3 – One of the main themes inside the manifesto was anti-corporatist ideology. It repeatedly claimed that corporations were engaged in a conspiracy to replace human workers with “automation.” At one point, the shooter even writes that his life was ruined because of the purported move toward automation: “My whole life I have been preparing for a future that currently doesn’t exist,” he writes. “The job of my dreams will likely be automated.”

4 – The author repeatedly blamed corporations for “the destruction of our environment.”

One section praised The Lorax, a children’s book written by Dr. Seuss and recently made into an animated movie that focuses on the plight of the environment:

Corporations are heading the destruction of our environment by shamelessly over harvesting resources. This has been a problem for decades. For example, this phenomenon is brilliantly portrayed in the decades old classic “The Lorax”.

5 – The document claimed “many” Republican Party “factions” sold out to corporations.

    The manifesto claims:

Many factions within the Republican Party are pro-corporation. Pro-corporation = pro-immigration. But some factions within the Republican Party don’t prioritize corporations over our future. So the Democrats are nearly unanimous with their support of immigration while the Republicans are divided over it.

6 – The manifesto promoted far-left policies such as universal healthcare and a “universal income.”

In the near future, America will have to initiate a basic universal income to prevent widespread poverty and civil unrest as people lose their jobs. Joblessness in itself is a source of civil unrest. The less dependents on a government welfare system, the better. The lower the unemployment rate, the better.

Achieving ambitions social projects like universal healthcare and UBI would become far more likely to succeed if tens of millions of dependents are removed.

7 – The document blamed the Trump administration for recently nearly doubling the number of guest worker visas this summer.

    The text states:

Recently, the senate under a REPUBLICAN administration has greatly increased the number of foreign workers that will take American jobs. Remember that both Democrats and Republicans support immigration and work visas. Corporations need to keep replenishing the labor pool for both skilled and unskilled jobs to keep wages down.

The shooter also complained about fresh water currently (meaning during the Trump administration) being “polluted from farming and oil drilling operations.”

8 – The manifesto blamed the “American lifestyle” for “destroying the environment of our country,” and claimed this so-called “decimation of the environment is creating a massive burden for future generations.”

9 – Far from singularly expressing ultranationalist ideology, the manifesto actually slams Americans and calls for the general population to be forcibly decreased.

    The document states:

Everything I have seen and heard in my short life has led me to believe that the average American isn’t willing to change their lifestyle, even if the changes only cause a slight inconvenience. The government is unwilling to tackle these issues beyond empty promises since they are owned by corporations.

Corporations that also like immigration because more people means a bigger market for their products. I just want to say that I love the people of this country, but god damn most of y’all are just too stubborn to change your lifestyle. So the next logical step is to decrease the number of people in America using resources. If we can get rid of enough people, then our way of life can become more sustainable.

Still, the manifesto claimed “even if other non-immigrant targets would have a greater impact, I can’t bring myself to kill my fellow Americans.” The manifesto presented a racist confederacy of various races instead of “deporting or murdering all non-white Americans” — an idea he said was “horrific.” And he claimed, “This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas.”

Sorry Lonewolf...but this is about as dumb as it gets....but it is textbook of today's logic and reason.

I will remind you and the members here ...that the reason for our 2nd Amendment is the excesses of government...first and foremost.....the Mischief of government....the tendency of government for natural Mischief...as the Founders put it.

And also from history.....The Colonial Government here ...before our founding as a nation....did not trust the Colonialists with a state of the art Musket...or even a rifled musket....however few existed back then.

In short the Colonialists here were not trusted to be armed.......

This is the reason for the 1st, 2nd and also the 4th Amendments.....the Colonial Governments of that time....British run..did not trust the Colonialists.

It becomes clear to thinking people that our government ..including our "Deep State" government does not trust the American people to think for themselves.....much less be armed....physically,. spiritually and mentally too.

This....Lonewolf....is precisely your situation with Brexit....Englishmen cannot be trusted with their vote..

The goal here is so obvious about flooding our land with Illegals to get them on the voting rolls..because as of 2016 it became clear that most Americans were not as leftist as someone would like to take for granted that we are.

We cannot be trusted with a vote.

Therefore we cannot also be trusted with our arms...and must needs be disarmed in every avenue imaginable.

The Colonial Government under British Rule...did not trust the Colonialists to be armed...with a state off the art muzzle loader.

Our government....does not trust us to be armed period ..with anything ...including a state of the art rifle.

    Nothing has changed.

Make no mistake....the goal is to "Herd " America and Americans in every and any way imagine able....just like Englishmen.

We are not Englishmen or Continentals and have no desire to be so "Herded."

I am well aware for many many years now...that someone out there....the Deep State and others...have been trying to foist off on the American people....a British and or Continental template or way of looking at the world.

Thinking Americans do not buy it... We are Americans ..not internationalists. We are not Ishmaelites.

    Read Amendment 13.

    My non Ishmaelite .02,

Do you know what the difference is in these two rifles?

    ac6e12fc9c30956b7a30b0c0fac42a61.jpeg
    ac6e12fc9c30956b7a30b0c0fac42a61.jpeg

Absolutely nothing except the stocks are different. They both are the same exact rifle otherwise.
One looks scary, the other doesn't.
Both are semi automatic Ruger 10-22 rifles.

This is usually a 12 or 13 year old's first rifle in America or something very similar.

I'm not limited to find my news only in the US though. The news is out there for those who wish to find it. We have an Internet now. Many people only look at one source for news if even that. Unfortunately many only get their news today from what others say on social media.

Sometimes I wish we were controlled by the globalists in Brussels like you are...NOT!

I prefer to get my news straight an unaltered by checking Donald Trump's twitter feed each morning or catch him with the words coming directly from his mouth . Quiet often what he says and what the fake / communist news says he said don't match . No need to depend on getting the news from fake news .

You don't need a semiautomatic weapon to kill a bunch of people. The problem isn't the gun it's the person. I actually thought he was pretty clear on that point.

That is the problem, badly informed public perception...although I've got to say I've consciously avoided buying any tactical looking firearms. There are even tactical lookalike air rifles that make people look at you funny.

If the AR15 was an "Assault Rifle" the military would be buying them up, at they are a heck of a lot cheaper. Since the military do not want them, they are not "Weapons of War". Just Liberal lies and B.S. If you want to talk about what they are, then learn what they are. Simple semi-auto rifles.

Do you think the exact same doesn't happen here with our problems?

That is the exact same BS that is hyped up by our socialist media to the rest of the world. Our Nation is made to sound like if you walk down the street you'll be gunned down like in some Zombie video game before you go 2 blocks.

Do we have serious shitholes where no matter how heavily armed I was I still wouldn't walk thru? Damn right we do, they are the cesspools found in the large cities which are and have been ran by the left for decades. Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, LA, San Fran, Boston, NYC... take your pic.

On the No-Go zones, that wasn't Trump drumming that up, we've been hearing that rhetoric for 10+ years but primarily I've usually seen it directed to be a situation supposedly occurring in France. And the same media that loves to throw the tidbits and twisted "facts" out on guns and violence that you in the UK want to take as fact are the same ones here that report on those zones. I specifically recall them talking them up after the terror attacks in France at that magazine a few years back.

    Just some food for thought.

Good morning TexDanm and Country Guy,

ROFL after glancing at that Time article ! Knives are already under strict regulation in China. In Virginia, sheath knives, except for the very smallest are deemed weapons and can only be carried when exposed to public view unless person has a concealed weapons permit.....because the sheath knife is deemed a weapon. I learned about this as an emergency responder.

Washington, D.C.'s Ward 8 is an unofficial "No Go" zone. Even Capitol Hill approaches being one. At night it is.

Sadly a lot of brits believe this falsehood too, sad buggers.

The breakdown of the vote to leave the EU was interesting. A lot of older retired people voted out, a lot of younger people voted remain. One common trend amongst the 'leave' voters were they tended to be people with a poor education, without thinking they believed the drivel people like Nigel Fromage spouted.

I'm proud to be British, I'm also proud to be a European, leaving Europe is economic suicide for the UK.

The EU and the USA are similar, both are a conglomerate of member states. As a great man once said "You can't please all of the people all of the time."

the UK is still a democracy, not that many of our MP's are acting in a democratic way, more like a load of tinpot dictators.
when we vote in this country we abide by the majority decision, the majority voted to leave.
all the political parties said they would respect the result of the referendum, so far they have done the exact opposite.
the majority of the population outside of London excluding Scotland decided to vote Leave, the time has come to honour that decision, if we dont leave on October 31st both the Conservatives and Labour are finished, the Lib Dems are a joke.
actually the "common market" as it was originally was a good idea, but the "European Union" with all its political shenanigans is an awful idea, the final act if Brussels had its way would be a "united states of Europe" with all country names abolished, the UK would cease to exist and be just a region of Europe, i'm not sure many British people are aware of this but it is common knowledge. Britain has always acted against dictators and unless we have a 100% snowflake population I hope it always will.

Remember LW, the referendum was not a BINDING referendum, the government then and today could ignore it if they wished. The 'win' was a slim majority, many people did not bother voting, no sane person would believe leaving the EU was a good move so stayed home that (very sad) day.

It will never be a 'United States of Europe' it is a union of countries working together for mutual benefit and is without doubt the way forward for Europe (and the UK).

if they weren't going to bother to abide by the result why bother asking us to vote? that's a load of bollocks and is a line trotted out by Remoaners all the time. all the political parties said they would honour the result of the referendum(not that they have any idea what honour means), we were told it was our decision, not the politicians, the peoples decision. the majority was the majority, that's how we vote in this country.
most people have been duped by the EU, it proports to be a democracy but its really a dictatorship with all major decisions taken by 3 or 4 (unelected by the voters but elected by other eurocrats) at the top.
if it had stayed as a simple trading agreement most people would be happy with that, but they brought in all the political crap after the Maastrict treaty in 1990(signed by John Major without consulting the people of the UK), that's what most people are against.
we are a sovereign nation, our government is in Westminster NOT Brussels.
as for "the united states of Europe" that is the ultimate aim, it may not happen IF we leave and Germany is heading into a recession, but I wouldn't put it past them.

    Good morning Duke in Wales,

I cannot understand why the UK did not drop pound sterling for the Euro.

A lot of elder retired people believe the UK would fare better having economic arrangements with the US (and, by extension Canada and Mexico) than the EU.

To say the EU and the US are member state conglomerates dismisses the point that there are less than 2 central banks here.

To date we've done better sticking with the Pound, the Euro fluctuates a lot more. I didn't miss the point, the USA is a group of States similar to the group of countries in the EU. They have the Central Bank and although involved we still have the Bank of England.

They said they would honor the non legally binding vote and they are doing so, trotting the country down the path of economic oblivion.

How have most people been duped? Examples would help.

Our Government is in Westminter, the French government is is Paris etc so whats your point?

The UK puts a lot of money in the EU pot but remember we get a lot back for various development projects, your neck of the woods has received millions same as Wales, its done a lot of good, encouraged regeneration of deprived areas.

The phrase 'United States of Europe' is so passe, you really should not use it especially as its not true.

i'm sorry you really have been whitewashed by all the EU BS.
its only remainers who trot out this stuff about the referendum being non binding, it wasn't on the leaflet that the government of Cameron sent out at great expense(to the taxpayer).
further conversation would seem to be irrelevant so I wont bother.

I had hoped you were a little more aware LW. Yes, I'm a remainer, most sensible thinking people are. My neighbours in Spain range from German, French and Spanish, all professional people (you can't spend €400k on a villa if your not) and not one of them can understand why we are leaving the EU.

The wife and I are giving thought to winding down the business and retiring to Spain when I hit 50 shortly, its so relaxing out there.

I was a shortwave listener long before I got my ham license. I still listen short wave as well as the Ham Bands..in this day of computers. Listen to many countries when they broadcast in English.

I remember being stunned years ago when listening to BBC about a year after the Falkland Islands War. The BBC announced that the British Government was taking bids for oil leases off the Falkland Islands.

Up to that point I was dumb enough to think the war was over Island Sovereignty...and ties to the UK.

Here in the USA it is a Right to own guns or arms. It is not a privilege granted by the Sovereign. A huge difference..and sadly not a difference known my most Americans.

As to Freedom in the UK....I doubt that....

Someone is working double and triple time in the UK to herd the populace and working just as hard here in America to Herd us in like manner. Someone here wants us in America to be just as people in the UK and the Continent....subjects and not citizens.

To me ....one of the very interesting things about the UK and your government/leadership is that they have one of the nicest most civilized ways of enslaving their subjects...that their subjects think it is just wonderful.
    I...for one ..am not impressed.

Our leadership here is not so skillful in this deception as is English leadership....and I am glad of it.

    Do not misunderstand me here...

I have a great admiration for certain aspects of English History and the leadership involved in that history...in particular the English Civil War which had great consequences for us here in America..about 100 years later.

But I have no interest in becoming a Subject....verses an American.

I am told that there are those who are proud to be Englishmen...and that is certainly their right and business.

Someone here..is working deceitfully and conspiratorially to make Americans not proud of being American and thus working towards internationalism and amenable to .....being subjects..

    I don't buy into it...again....

I do not believe for one minute that the Russians interfered in our election.

I believe the Crown Merchants out of Olde London have been interfering in our elections since back with Teddy Roosevelt..

America in our stupidity has been protecting Crown investments world wide since the Boxer Rebellion and ignorant Americans have no idea of this perverted history.

Only America and Americans can be stupid enough to fight world war after world war and also the brush wars in between and continue on. This toll of wars would have collapsed many nations.

We have fought too many wars and conflicts to support the Crown and their subsidiaries.
    We need to stop it.

It is my belief that Trump and Company are turning against the Crown world class economic and social manipulators...and this is his main source for the discord in this country from those who have been bought and sold/owned by the Crown...amongst our leadership.

Someone here in America as well as outside America intends to disarm us...mentally , Spiritually, as well as physically...to make us into Englishmen and Continentals ...international...

    No thanks.

The"British National Party" are a largely discredited and irrelevant political group.
    https://bnp.org.uk
They tend to attract the socially disaffected losers who want someone brown to blame for their own inadequacy.

This is the same poor nonsense which someone is trying to foist off on America and Americans.

There are people out here who can think past professional race and racism...on which many in leadership today have become dependent...like an opioid addition. Race and Racism issues have become an opioid for the body politic in order to assist with "Herding" those they would like to keep and maintain as "Subjects."

People who can and will think for themselves do not want to get up every morning and before they can take care of their private business...must think about Race and Racism with every choice they make...with their monies and labors.
Only a government hell bent on control and subjugation of its people can deliberately choose to so indoctrinate their people.

People going about their business do not want to be so herded by race and racism...but only to keep more of for what they labor....and make private decisions with for what they labor.

The very whorish tendency of governments is to put their people in bondage and servitude ...to support more government....even if it means they must import more and more people in order to stack the vote by government give away programs for more votes.

Not self sufficiency ..not independence..but more government control...of every aspect of peoples lives.

And Race and Racism is just such an control mechanism.

This is proving itself out here with these four women in "The Squad." They immediately turned to race and racism when they came under fire and criticism......proving their dependency on the opioid of race and racism.

Race and Racism is proving itself out as being another social and thus political method of "Herding" people....controlling and censoring them. There is no intention of solving the issue of racism...and race..but only using and misusing it as a "Herding " tool against the people and nation.

And this is become the major occupation of our phony non representative leadership in America...the proper social and political "Herding" of America and Americans....

Not representing the people..but Herding them.

It gets Wolfe to people who can still think for themselves....and will so do.

The British people.....so educated may be willing to come in second, third, and fourth place in their own country...to race and racism manupulations...but Not Thinking Americans..

And our Main Stream Media has more than demonstrated themselves complicit and pimps in this race baiting and race hating for the non representative body politic.

    Good morning Duke in Wales,

And ... I'm sure part of the UK-US discussion re BREXIT involves:

A UK-US economic alliance replacing EU membership by UK, incorporates a defense treaty. Holy Loch just might get rehabilitated.

NATO is a shell, at best. Once Germany gets Russian supplies in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline under the Baltic, Germany is "written off" by the US as a defense partner. France already left military NATO.

I believe London kept sterling because they knew how Berlin uses the Bank For International Settlements, Basil, Switzerland, for ... may I say "currency manipulation" ?! Note that Germany has a trade surplus with China. Yes, the Bank of England is more important than favorable trade arrangements within the EU....at least in my opinion; I know you didn't actually write this.

    ......

Had always considered Wales and Midlands as being "deprived areas" ... at least as to what I hear from locals who moved to this area of the globe.

That is the nature of populist politics Chris, each party lies, promises jam tomorrow and tries to gather the biggest herd in order to exploit their misguided patriotism, hopes and dreams in order to take power. Democracy in action.
Sometimes the lies are bigger or more obvious, and sometimes hate and negativity is used to herd the irrelevant and disaffected who want someone to else to blame for the fact they've achieved nothing in their life. It makes little difference in the end, history is written after its all over and the dust has settled. These days the BNP is pretty much history.

    Ystranc,

I know little about the BNP or any other British political party. I just suspect strongly that the British People are severely underrepresented by their government in favor of internationalism...international treaties.

And so too it is here in America and without the knowledge and consent of most Americans...by design.

I am close to getting rid of my Cable Television as I have a lot of channels on it but not much worth while to see on there.

I don't need to be entertained as much as I do mused...and cable television seems to be very wanting in that avenue...musing.

And Also I am very disappointed in the news formats here in America and would often rather get my news from this computer or shortwave or other Ham Operators...world wide.

Also not much interested in the blame game which seems to be the major Method of Operation/MO of the news as well as leadership of late. They have become quite predictable of late.

    Thanks,

Currently I'm about as disconnected from politics as I have ever been since I was able to vote. I can't say what it is that the British people want but in general I would be satisfied if tomorrow followed on pretty much the same as today. I don't want dramatic change, revolution or re-set, I'm actually very happy with my life as it is.
If there was someone who could make our rivers cleaner and stop plastic pollution I would probably vote for them, apart from that there is nothing much to reccomend any of the current British polititions.

Very similar here Ystranc. I trust neither the Republicans nor the Democrats. I am often want to state that the Phony Republicans are only Democrat Lite.

I certainly do not trust our news media....all of them.

I am not against being a good steward of that with which we have been blessed as a nation or people....I just am not in favor of someone using or misusing this as political leverage to "Herd " people into taking second, third, and or fourth place in their own country to political correctness..of if you prefer...bondage by herding.

    Thanks,

I don't debate those that drink the koolaid. It is a waste of my precious time and their indoctrination time. If the left leaning leaders said maroon is the new red, then the liberal minds would spend their nanny state time auguring that maroon is red.

that is a load of rubbish and the sort of stuff trotted out by lefties. yes, immigration was a subject they talked about but most parties are too afraid to talk about this for fear of being called racist which is how the left always shuts down any conversation about immigration.(not all migrants are brown...or black).
I agree that they are pretty irrelevant these days and have dropped out of sight since they sacked Nick Griffin as leader, which is why I didn't renew my membership after 17 years.
they tended to be more active in the Midlands and Welsh borders where the party was based and nothing happened in the South West of England which was another reason for leaving, all I got for my membership was a monthly newspaper and an occasional leaflet.
I vote for the Brexit Party these days.
