    If
If WW3 breaks out we have stronger ties with Russia than the US so if we get drafted we might be going to Europe.

Nevermind WW3, how do you guys go about prepping. I have a bug out bag and will be making a few more. We have unique prepping challenges as South Africans. Whatever you build outside will be stolen, we can't go 10 kilometer without running into someone, equipment is expensive and prepping is socially awkward... Thoughts?

first thing is OPSEC or OPerational Security, tell no one that you are a prepper or what preps you have and where they are, post SHTF they will remember what you said and come for your stash.
prepping is still looked on in my country as being a bit "strange" almost anti social, and less than 1% of the population has any kind of stores or any skills or knowledge- other than what they do as paid employment.
oh yeah, and trust no one, trust has to be earned not given away freely, and that goes tenfold after SHTF.

Thank you Lonewolf. I totally agree and understand. I never thought of it that way and i guess the smaller one's circle, the better the chances of survival. I experience the same over here as people don't understand us all that well.

I've always been a bit of a loner, so I have never bothered about what other people think, I've always kept myself to myself and done my own thing.
I've always been happier in the countryside than in a shopping mall, "ordinary" people bore me- I have nothing in common with them.

Hey My Boeties, I'm a new member here and would like to greet all the "Ou Manne"....
Started Prepping, getting ready for when the SHTF, my biggest obstacle is getting my wife on board. She has bought into this whole we are ok and the worst is she thinks it's just me being super paranoid.
Going to be doing a couple of bush craft survival courses, hope to get my kids into it. Helps if they are not clueless if the time comes for action.

Joined the Suid Landers Orginization a couple of days ago. See what they have on the table and see if I can slot in there and maybe make a difference when it needed the most.

    Cheers

    Hi all
    am new on here
I live in KZN have been prepping for some years , have just taken delivery of an ex SA Defense Force Unimog ( with long range tanks ) as a second BOV , to go with my Landcruiser ,in the USA there are plenty of remote spots to go to , for me the biggest problem is where to B O in SA , this would be a last result to leave my home, the talk of heading to the Cape seems fine , but getting there could be a problem , one would have to carry enough fuel to cover at least 1500 km , because if things are that bad fuel would not readily be available,, as to finding abandoned vehicles with fuel in ( as in D D P on TV ) will be scarce because people will not just leave a vehicle & walk , as stated in earlier posts things left even in remote places will be stolen over here,

Firstly, Welcome! Secondly, a Unimog is awesome! Where did you find one? As a South African survivalists I know exactly what you mean. I too have racked my brain on this issue. Bugging in isn't a option for us. You know as well as I do that when the hordes come no amount of security stops them. They have numbers and a lowly form of cunning to subvert home defenses. So that leaves us with one alternative. We need mobility and your Unimog is perfect! If I were you I would convert it into a self sustainable vehicle.

I live in Potchefstroom and I have looked at a few escape routes should the need arise. Roads are out for the most part as they will be targeted. Plan your routes through farms and bush if need be but remember that any town or township would mean certain death. KwaZulu-Natal is coastal so i would make for the water. Supply storage is also a problem as people tend to notice and security needs to be tight. I don't know about you but things seem strained at the moment.

I have had built in Krugersdorp back in 2015 a self contained off road caravan 2450 kg gvm the landcruiser ( SW ) has been towing this , the Mog ( was a boffel now de -armored ) will now do the towing , I will use the Mog to carry fuel & supplies , the cruiser will be used a a second B O V ( bit of an overkill ) , Down your way I have a plot in Renovaal area close to the rivers , this I have considered using as B O L as it is far away from most built up areas , I am on the coast ,the sea is about 500 mt from my front door , I recently went down to Port St Johns eastern Cape , looking at the landscape on the way ,there is hardly any hilltop that does not have some from of settlement on , a few years back there was just open land for miles in all directions , where we are in a holiday destination area , there is not a lot of problems yet , but yes things are starting to slowly have flare ups for stupid reasons, I have considered setting up a WhatsApp group for SA peppers your thoughts on this , we would all still have anonymity,

Not a bad idea at all. Seems like you have a awesome setup! That is unfortunately the reality with our populace. They really do squat everywhere. I don't own property in remote places but I do have a friend who has a farm that is very defensible. That is my first location. Failing that I will have to make my way to the coast somehow as my uncle has a boat moored there. I was thinking about kitting out a old scrambler motorcycle as a backup the other day...my bakkie is great and everything but perhaps as a reconnaissance vehicle or rapid departure. I agree, if it doesn't happen when the EFF takes farmers land it might be when the current drought intensifies and food starts running scarce.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...confiscation-white-land-without-compensation/

I fear that the world will not support the whites of South Africa. Here in the USA, there are efforts to further develop a far-Left shadow government to replace the current administration in the event of the current conservative president being assassinated. One example: Valerie Jarrett, Obama's Democratic Socialist handler during his presidency is living with the Obama family two miles north of the White House in Washington D.C.. There, she and her superiors are readying Obama for his return to office should they succeed in creating sufficient chaos in the United States and manage to get rid of the current president. A figure-head is needed and the press keeps Obama in the limelight. What the Constitution-burners are planning is rather in-your-face.

The above activities would shut down one of the major sources of aid to the civilized people of S.Africa should you come under attack. I so wish we could help, however the civilized world is collapsing. Come to America and help us restore civilized society! Don't move near any major urban areas here in America -- those places are doomed to burn.

I wish i had the money to do so! I love the culture especially the South! I enjoy the music and am a firearm enthusiast. but my current salary is barely enough to keep the pot going. Prepping is especially difficult over here because of the dense population and immense crime. At the moment the best is having a bike that can move rapidly and a few days supplies. Having gone through the effort of registering a firearms also helps.
