https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/grocery-stores-open-st-john-s-1.5433593 Just posting this as a reminder of exactly how little food most people have on hand. And how quickly shops can run out of food. While reading of these people's plight one must remember the "storm of the year" was not unanticipated and that they had a few days before it arrived to prepare in advance. Which it would appear very few bothered to do.
Few people learn. Some, like those here, have it figured out but most will go through one disaster after another and never keep significant stores on hand.
Good morning Rebecca, An excellent example ! Much of this is not about people running out of food supplies. It is about these people giving priority to the rock concert, the meeting, the fashion show. The "storm of the year" is so minor, they don't care.
it is funny how many people have never heard of the "just in time" food delivery system or how quickly this stock of food runs out in an emergency, in a northern country like Canada I would have thought a larder was one thing that was really needed, but I suppose people are all the same in western countries, the sheeple mentality is universal.
It is quite difficult to find the energy required to feel sorry for today's herds of idiots. I read this story and simply don't feel all Jesus-like inside. I don't think J.C. Himself would feel particularly motivated to give any sort of sermon. I see Him giving a deep sigh, turning around, and walking away.
