I read the article. He apparently had been treated for significant depressive disorder.

I feel that today's unimaginably crowded urban environments contribute in a grand way to psychological depression. Ironic isn't it that the more packed-together people become, the LESS connected they become. In a sardine society, some/many individuals retreat into a cramped physical space and interact with others only via electronic means. People talk to each other face-to-face less and less. People do not shake hands, or hug. Families often no longer eat supper together. Fear of sexual harassment accusations keep young men from approaching females. Having been lied to by high school teachers (leftist curriculum) and communist college professors, many youth are now confused about their sexuality. Meanwhile, other cultures are cranking out babies like there is no tomorrow. Governments spay and neuter the souls of the people and turn them into herd animals.

There were studies done in the 1970s that showed that when people were given power over other people, the one's given power became abusive to their underlings. This demonstrated why centralized government leads to those in power getting sadistic. Today, communist Sociology (anti-science; feel-good emotional b.s.) professors have "debunked" those studies because it is inconvenient to believe such when you are promoting the masses kowtowing to their "elitist superiors". Socialists love it when the sheeple are Borged using iPhones and other electronic communications because they are now more easily indoctrinated and herded. Such people are soft, weak, non-self-sufficient -- thus the apt term "sheeple".

The internationalists are winning. That the sheeple go crazy and that many commit suicide or become addicts means next to nothing to the overlords. (In the former USSR, the alcoholism rates were enormous; people went to work drunk; often missed a workday per week. The average Soviet woman would have an average of seven abortions during her life.) On top of this, people who have become benumbed to being beaten down are currently imported into Western nations for the purpose of providing more herd people and to keep the newly beaten down in their place.

Those citizens who are self-sufficient and thus can tell the government to "go play somewhere else" are seen as dangerous beyond measure. They are deemed enemies of the state. Look what happened to Rob Roy and William Wallace.

Our species requires getting out into nature, physical activity, face-to-face communion amongst peers a.k.a. "brotherly love" (phileo), sexual love (eros), the cohesion of family units, and liberty of spirit (perchance to pursue agape Love) . Denial of such necessities results in physical and mental disease.

Earthquakes, wars, tsunamis, famine, ..., know too that there exists the apocalypse of the soul!

 

TSTL and TWTS Too stupid to live and too weak to survive. All that said though he probably had a long term problem with depression and anxiety. Untreated, especially with young people, it is deadly. Parents these days try so hard to give their children a perfect life. They want to be their friends and they give their kids anything that they want. I'm sorry but if you treat your kid fair all the time you are handicapping them to expect and think that is how the real world is. I loved my Dad but he was a mean SOB at times and if I was stupid and crossed him when he was in a bad mood he would beat the crap out of me. It wasn't fair but I learned to avoid trouble and to keep my mouth shut when the Boss is on the rampage. He made me a tough SOB and that has served me well.

 

If it had not been the phone it would have been something else just as stupid.

 

Darwin Award...this fellow/person is a prime candidate for a Darwin Award.

Makes me think of the next step in de evolution beyond a "Snowflake."

Chickens peck at each other's distal sphincters (alimentary canal tubing; I've now drank too much; it's not depression or whatever, just life, oh most beauteous to God, the All-Knowing, the Most-Merciful). When the chickens succeed, they drag-out each other's bowels. That's when the other chickens come in to eat their friend's guts while they are yet living. Yum, yum.

The behavior of my fellow "sentient beings" drag-out such metaphors from my damaged soul.

I looked into this story and found pictures of that pasty-skinned, ill-fated boy. How existentially tragic. In his death, he penned an obituary to this malignant age in which we live.

I am not uplifted. Should we pray for him? I guess the Nazarene would say we should.

What about prayers for this fetid "society"? Maybe not.

 

It is rather strange but as our world has become more gentle and soft the suicide rate has climbed to epidemic proportions. Someone dies by their own hand every 40 seconds. The thing seems to me to be in part that as people got richer monetarily the family structure has gone into the pits. With both parents working nobody has time to be parents anymore and we are letting our kids raise themselves. That is like hiring thieves to guard your valuables. Kids are a blank slate if you don't put your mark on it somebody else will. Kids are not born with morals or even empathy. How can you expect kids to teach other kids something that they never had to start with?

 

certainly anything is possible, but personally i think the dailymail is 90% bullshit, in fact im suspicious of anything with UK origins due to their high concentration of freemasons.

anyone interested in continuing this discussion, i started a thread, and for the record, like most people here, i am here to learn and spread the knowledge i have to help others, I have no desire to fight, or insult anyone, only to learn. The truth is not always pleasant, but its always better than lies.

Maybe we should be a little more understanding of the mentally ill. If he was truly diagnosed by a Psychiatrist with Clinical Depression then this is a very sad story. It is sad that nobody was able to reach him, and help him through the depression. He wasn't weak. He wasn't a snowflake. He was sick.

Admittedly, Mental Illness is not easy to diagnose, but it is real. Nobody chooses to be ill. It is the hand that life deals you. Nobody wants Cancer. Nobody wants Diabetes, but we recognize them as diseases, and try to cure them. Not so much with mental illness. We tell them " snap out of it." or " toughen up. Life isn't fair ". Not so easy when your brain isn't making the right connections to start with.

Sorry to sound so philosophical, but maybe, just maybe, there was a reason, and we could be a little more understanding.

 

Well I certainly agree with that. It is appalling to watch any group of people, and see ALL of them glued to a phone, and not speaking to each other. In another generation we won't need language. We will just be pushing buttons.

 

Crazy is a relative thing. If it was really a deadly illness there wouldn't be so many crazy people around today. Unfortunately at times going crazy is the only sane response to an insane situation. There are several types of what we think of as insanity that might be quite useful in most survival situations.

As long as a psychopath can keep it mostly under-control their lack of empathy and ability to kill without hesitation could make them very useful in a lot of situations. A limited amount of OCD and paranoia isn't a bad thing in a world where there really are people out there that will kill you.

A lot of the suicides today are that people have become so focused on their little gods the TV, LAP TOP, Tablet and Phone that there is not much human connection left in the world for a lot of people. They have nobody to talk to and not really anyone that cares. We live in a very harsh and unnatural environment and the troubled easily get lost. In a post apocalyptic world you may find many of these people to be the best suited to survive.

The people for example that make the best WARRIORS during a time of war are often not the most peaceful people or successful folks in a peaceful times. The difference between a soldier and a warrior is simple. You are in an enemy zone and someone walks up on you; a soldier does some form of "Halt who goes there!" a warrior kills them checks the body to see if it offers anything they might need and then moves on.

There have always been some crazy people that committed suicide. The thing that is so troublesome today is that you are having kids as young as 8 killing themselves. People are not connecting anymore EVEN to their kids. I really think that after the initial rush when the psychologically weak kill themselves that you are going to have a more individually stable culture again.
