I read the article. He apparently had been treated for significant depressive disorder.

I feel that today's unimaginably crowded urban environments contribute in a grand way to psychological depression. Ironic isn't it that the more packed-together people become, the LESS connected they become. In a sardine society, some/many individuals retreat into a cramped physical space and interact with others only via electronic means. People talk to each other face-to-face less and less. People do not shake hands, or hug. Families often no longer eat supper together. Fear of sexual harassment accusations keep young men from approaching females. Having been lied to by high school teachers (leftist curriculum) and communist college professors, many youth are now confused about their sexuality. Meanwhile, other cultures are cranking out babies like there is no tomorrow. Governments spay and neuter the souls of the people and turn them into herd animals.

There were studies done in the 1970s that showed that when people were given power over other people, the one's given power became abusive to their underlings. This demonstrated why centralized government leads to those in power getting sadistic. Today, communist Sociology (anti-science; feel-good emotional b.s.) professors have "debunked" those studies because it is inconvenient to believe such when you are promoting the masses kowtowing to their "elitist superiors". Socialists love it when the sheeple are Borged using iPhones and other electronic communications because they are now more easily indoctrinated and herded. Such people are soft, weak, non-self-sufficient -- thus the apt term "sheeple".

The internationalists are winning. That the sheeple go crazy and that many commit suicide or become addicts means next to nothing to the overlords. (In the former USSR, the alcoholism rates were enormous; people went to work drunk; often missed a workday per week. The average Soviet woman would have an average of seven abortions during her life.) On top of this, people who have become benumbed to being beaten down are currently imported into Western nations for the purpose of providing more herd people and to keep the newly beaten down in their place.

Those citizens who are self-sufficient and thus can tell the government to "go play somewhere else" are seen as dangerous beyond measure. They are deemed enemies of the state. Look what happened to Rob Roy and William Wallace.

Our species requires getting out into nature, physical activity, face-to-face communion amongst peers a.k.a. "brotherly love" (phileo), sexual love (eros), the cohesion of family units, and liberty of spirit (perchance to pursue agape Love) . Denial of such necessities results in physical and mental disease.

Earthquakes, wars, tsunamis, famine, ..., know too that there exists the apocalypse of the soul!

TSTL and TWTS Too stupid to live and too weak to survive. All that said though he probably had a long term problem with depression and anxiety. Untreated, especially with young people, it is deadly. Parents these days try so hard to give their children a perfect life. They want to be their friends and they give their kids anything that they want. I'm sorry but if you treat your kid fair all the time you are handicapping them to expect and think that is how the real world is. I loved my Dad but he was a mean SOB at times and if I was stupid and crossed him when he was in a bad mood he would beat the crap out of me. It wasn't fair but I learned to avoid trouble and to keep my mouth shut when the Boss is on the rampage. He made me a tough SOB and that has served me well.

Well although it is only one person, it must be said that people that have become reliant on modern technology are in a very fragile position. This bloke was already depressed, but then a lot of people are.
Can't help wondering about who picked up his phone & what they are thinking having heard the news!

Chickens peck at each other's distal sphincters (alimentary canal tubing; I've now drank too much; it's not depression or whatever, just life, oh most beauteous to God, the All-Knowing, the Most-Merciful). When the chickens succeed, they drag-out each other's bowels. That's when the other chickens come in to eat their friend's guts while they are yet living. Yum, yum.

The behavior of my fellow "sentient beings" drag-out such metaphors from my damaged soul.

I looked into this story and found pictures of that pasty-skinned, ill-fated boy. How existentially tragic. In his death, he penned an obituary to this malignant age in which we live.

I am not uplifted. Should we pray for him? I guess the Nazarene would say we should.

What about prayers for this fetid "society"? Maybe not.

It is rather strange but as our world has become more gentle and soft the suicide rate has climbed to epidemic proportions. Someone dies by their own hand every 40 seconds. The thing seems to me to be in part that as people got richer monetarily the family structure has gone into the pits. With both parents working nobody has time to be parents anymore and we are letting our kids raise themselves. That is like hiring thieves to guard your valuables. Kids are a blank slate if you don't put your mark on it somebody else will. Kids are not born with morals or even empathy. How can you expect kids to teach other kids something that they never had to start with?

I trust the BBC about as much as I trust Fox News.

It will not be long before Englishmen no longer know who were Chaucer...Sir Francis Drake, Winston Spencer Churchill...Horatio Nelson and others....Oliver Cromwell...

And if the same corrupt system running English Education has their way here...we too will no longer know our own history.

So many people here know more about the Kardashians and other such rubbish...than they do American history...or any history for that matter.

I get so disgusted with this whorish template going on out here that somehow Hollywood is more capable of knowing what is good for us than we ourselves and with our own monies often earned at great risk.

New York too...the rest of America is flyover country....I don't buy into it and get turned off big time by Hollywood and New York.

All of this is Ishmael....bondage...bondage of the mind and soul....to prevent thinking....

I will not worship the Idols and or gods of sports....not for me thanks.

    Amuse...Amusement....

    A... without

    Muse...thinking..

    Without thinking...amuse .....amusement..

Something fed to us to prevent thinking.....

    Be Warned

Think about this in the context of this youngster living without their phone...amuse...amusement.

    What a horrible..horrible thought!!!!! Frightening.!!!!

I don't believe much of ANYTHING that ANY news agency puts out anymore. They all have an agenda and it is all useless Yellow Journalism. As far as I'm concerned all any of it is is propaganda from various political organizations. FOX is better than CNN. They may be as biased but at least they aren't so stupid as to get caught over and over lying and reporting things with no reality.

If you think that any countries journalism is any better, or worse for that matter, than the UK's then you are delusional.

I am a Texan and a Freemason so I will be proud to be added to your list of malcontents...

    what degree freemasoon
yep i too am Texan, but that has as much relevance as the Houston oilers.

but freemasonry that is very relevant.

    what degree are you?
are you aware, and i ask if you are aware, as many things are kept from you, and you are told false meaning behind things-at every degree.

do you realize the rituals you perform are satanic/pagen in origin?

sure they will tell you they mean this, until you get to the next degree, then they mean that, and on and on. and while at some point they will tell you the god their god is Jahbulon, but later will reveal it is infact lucifer.

Albert Pike (33º Freemason), Morals and Dogma of the ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, pg. 321

“Lucifer, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! It is he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable, blinds feeble, sensual or selfish souls? Doubt it not!”

Manly Hall (33º Freemason), Lost Keys of Freemasonry, pg. 48

“When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his craft. The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands and before he may step onwards and upwards he must prove his ability to properly apply (this) energy.”

This is only exposed to you once you reach the last degrees (of 33),by then you have spent so many years, made many friends, invested alot of money, and reaped rewards from your Freemason connections, so will you leave when you learn its all about Lucifer? very few do.I

FYI im not ragging on you, they lie to everyone. and out of the cream of the crops, people get recruited into the "Illuminati" (its real they just dont call themselves that)

another fun fact, without the freemasons, we would not be here, i wouldnt anyway, on a survivalist site, the freemasons are one of the main, well on of the largest reason all this is happening.

if by some chance you know all this, wtf are you doing here?

Surely you must be aware of the positions of power held by freemasons all over the world, and look where we are, perpetual wars, every word out of politicians mouths is a lie, there is little reguard for the average person, instead forging forward on policies that protect the few at the expensive.of the many.

if you still dont belive i have 2 former high ranking masons as friends who can conferm this to you.

i have no doubt freemasonry has many benefits for you, but for the world, it is a cancer.

and you are corrent on the journalism point, even the honest news has an agenda, not that we have much of that around these days.
    on my previous comment.
your natural reaction is likely to attack or ignore me, but before you do i sincerely hope you take a serious look into what i have said, there is no shortage of information out there.

I agree lonewolf , I am guilty of responding to threads or comments that has little or nothing to do with prepping or survival , but plan to not respond to them in the future . I have seen other prepper sites that were completely overwhelmed by off the subject topics and never recovered to return as a prepper site .

and in muslim countries the koran is in the room. and satanists (some types) know the bible better that christians, see reddit athesim thread fro proof of that.
i expected you to attack me, and thats 1 reason i was light on my opinion, and quoted 33 degree masons on the subject.
i dont care at all about you attacking me, the only thing i hope for is you take a look at the org, like i said there is no shortage of former, or current masons discusssing this online, or on the masons own books.
if it was christian, what is the reason for the secrecy? and like i said i know 2 former high ranking masons who would speak with you if you wanted.
albert pikes book Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, is widely considered the manual for freemasons, in fact the House of the Temple is where he is burried.
    from wikipedia...

    The House of the Temple
    5931db89abb552e2cf08c5297bec55d6.jpeg
House of the Temple in Washington, D.C.

The House of the Temple is a Masonic temple in Washington, D.C., United States that serves as the headquarters of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, U.S.A. (officially, "Home of The Supreme Council, 33°, Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, Washington D.C., U.S.A.")

It contains a museum devoted to Albert Pike, who rewrote a number of the Scottish Rite rituals and headed its Supreme Council from 1859 until his death in 1891, and whose remains are buried in the House of the Temple.
    burried.

now considering how much he meant to the org, as they built a temple on his grave, and have a museum to this day for him, and he states
Lucifer, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! It is he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable, blinds feeble, sensual or selfish souls? Doubt it not!”
Albert Pike (33º Freemason), Morals and Dogma of the ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, pg. 321

i included the page number so you could look it up

the 2nd quote i posted was the masons reaction to learning (at the 30th degree) that they were in fact worshiping Lucifer,

“When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his craft. The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands and before he may step onwards and upwards he must prove his ability to properly apply (this) energy.

Manly Hall (33º Freemason), Lost Keys of Freemasonry, pg. 48

again the mason LEARNS, as in he was previously unaware of that fact.

like i said there is plenty of evidneceout there if you take 30 sec to look, but also on the shriners- saying lucifer is god, the order of the Eastern Star (freemasonry for women) actually uses the inverted pentagram as a logo, you think they would know better kepping a bible in the room when creating a womens branch.
PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK, i beg you.

you are very correct, that is why i used the words of the top 33 degree masons to let them speak for themselves, yes GW was a freemasoon, as was benjamin Franklin., here is something i wrote on him, most of it is just quotes, from 2 sources, the ben frank museum in london, and the smithsonian. both should be the top experts on all things ben franklins.

There are many truths about Benjamin Franklin, he was a Freemason, He was a British spy, working against the USA, and he was a member of the Order of the Friars of St. Francis of Wycomb google that and the Hellfire Club comes up, except there were many Hellfire Clubs, Order of the Friars of St. Francis of Wycomb was the original.

    (source links at bottom)

The Not-So-Holy Order of the Friars of St. Francis of Wycombe

"Established in West Wycombe by Sir Francis Dashwood in 1749, the Brotherhood of St. Francis of Wycombe was anything but saintly. Devoted to wicked fun and debauchery, for the next two decades, many notable individuals in England counted themselves members, such as the 4th Earl of Sandwich, John Montagu, Baron George Dodington, member of Parliament Thomas Potter, and, while not a full member, distinguished guest Ben Franklin, who was a friend of Dashwood’s and is known to have attended meetings when in town. In these meetings, the group drank, ate and fornicated at will, trying their hardest to live up to the future moniker of “Hellfire Club”.

Do we really believe he was friends with the founder, a member of the elite, and showed up when in town as a guest? Did he call a reservation in?

"Rebuilding it and excavating what are now known as the “Hellfire Caves” beneath it (a network of man-made caves extending over 1,500 feet into the hillside), Dashwood had the inscription Fay ce que voudras (“Do what thou wilt”) placed over the entrance, and the members complied"

Do what thou wilt?, maybe this is Alister Crowleys inspiration?

"Mocking certain religious groups, during the get-together, the friars referred to each other as “brothers,” addressed the leader in a given year as “Abbot” and called the prostitutes in attendance “nuns.” In those caves, they also play-acted at pagan rituals, drank copiously of wine and port, gambled, laughed and joked around and, of course, enjoyed the company of women."

after a stressful week, I too look forward to getting together with my closest friends to play-acting! do they we are fucking morons. Seriously?

"Although their mock-pagan activities ultimately led to rumors of satanic rituals at these meetings, there is no real evidence to support this. In fact, the Order’s founder, Dashwood, even devoted himself to rebuilding, at no small expense, a local church at this time, the nearby St. Lawrence. For the members, the whole charade was simply a bit of farcical fun, rather than its constituents actually being devoted to pagan ideals. Or as member MP John Wilkes put it- “a set of worthy, jolly fellows, happy disciples of Venus and Bacchus, got occasionally together to celebrate woman in wine and to give more zest to the festive meeting, they plucked every luxurious idea from the ancients and enriched their own modern pleasures with the tradition of classic luxury.”

let me translate that last part for you

people thought they were conducting satanic rituals, but there is no proof.

It was all a big joke.

We only worshiped the goddess of sex, and the god of drunks, fertility, orgies.

Besides, we only used every pagan ritual we could discover for pleasure.

Now for the shocker, from The Smithsonian, while not overall trustworthy, I think this is……

Why Was Benjamin Franklin’s Basement Filled With Skeletons?

Repairs on Franklin’s old London house turned up 1200 pieces of bone from at least 15 people

“…...More than 200 years later, 15 bodies were found in the basement, buried in a secret, windowless room beneath the garden.

In 1998, conservationists were doing repairs on 36 Craven, looking to turn Franklin’s old haunt into a museum. “From a one metre wide, one metre deep pit, over 1200 pieces of bone were retrieved”—remnants of more than a dozen bodies, says Benjamin Franklin House. Six were children. Forensic investigations showed that the bones dated to Franklin’s day.

Franklin was a noted revolutionary and powerful freemason—the Grand Master of Masons of Pennsylvania—so it’s easy to wonder what dark secrets Franklin may have hidden in his basement chamber. But the truth, it turns out, isn’t quite so dark."

Sure, he is in charge of one of the biggest satanic groups at the time, but…..

“The most plausible explanation is not mass murder, but an anatomy school run by Benjamin Franklin’s young friend and protege, William Hewson,” said the Guardian in 2003.

oh yes, his protege. I know I dont have an issue with my protege burying 15 dead people in my basement.

"Franklin was probably aware of the illegal studies going on in his building, says the Benjamin Franklin House, but it’s doubtful the he was involved himself. Still, we can’t imagine that, curious man that he was, he didn’t sneak down and check out the proceedings at least once or twice."

He-he, ol Bennie was so naughty, who could resist going ot look at the dismembered bodies in his basement?

Its a fucking joke to these people

for the sake of full disclosure I skipped the excuse about grave robbing to learn about anatomy, as ive read from other places there were saw marks on the bones of the children in consistent with medical schools.

our money is practically an occult map, did you really think the man on the $100 note is gonna be a saint? Right.

    www.smithsonianmag.com/...

    http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2016/06/not-good-order-friars-st-francis-wycombe/

also do you know the real origin of the name america? the Incan Indians who live here before we "discovered" it, called it Amaruca, that means land of the plumed serpant.

everything in this world is not as it seems, and need to be looked into carefully.

Maybe we should be a little more understanding of the mentally ill. If he was truly diagnosed by a Psychiatrist with Clinical Depression then this is a very sad story. It is sad that nobody was able to reach him, and help him through the depression. He wasn't weak. He wasn't a snowflake. He was sick.

Admittedly, Mental Illness is not easy to diagnose, but it is real. Nobody chooses to be ill. It is the hand that life deals you. Nobody wants Cancer. Nobody wants Diabetes, but we recognize them as diseases, and try to cure them. Not so much with mental illness. We tell them " snap out of it." or " toughen up. Life isn't fair ". Not so easy when your brain isn't making the right connections to start with.

Sorry to sound so philosophical, but maybe, just maybe, there was a reason, and we could be a little more understanding.

i'm not sure there will be a place for the mentally ill post SHTF, they probably will be one of the types that don't make it through to the other side.
but my main reason for starting this thread was the extent to which people these days cannot leave their mobiles and technology alone for one minute and how will this type survive when these things no longer function post SHTF???

The main purpose for this forum and the many like it is to prepare for future disasters. Aside from the obvious needs, food, water, shelter, and defense, we must prepare emotionally. When the SHTF, we are going to lose friends, family and millions if not billions of people. If you have not prepared to accept these outcomes, then you may not be able to function after the events. I know it sound hard hearted but it will be a fact of the new reality. I do not feel for this person who could not deal with his current reality, he would have been a casualty in the future. Some here will be lost due their empathetic nature. Too many will perish and those who cannot except the loss, will become the lost. I do not mourn my lost parents, I celebrate their memory. Maybe my way is socially unacceptable but I think my way will prepare me for future losses. All the preps in the world will not help you if you emotionally curl up in a ball. People will need to be emotional survivors too.

Well I certainly agree with that. It is appalling to watch any group of people, and see ALL of them glued to a phone, and not speaking to each other. In another generation we won't need language. We will just be pushing buttons.

I think also the "snowflake" generation that are offended by anything and everything are another type that wont make it to the other side of SHTF.

Crazy is a relative thing. If it was really a deadly illness there wouldn't be so many crazy people around today. Unfortunately at times going crazy is the only sane response to an insane situation. There are several types of what we think of as insanity that might be quite useful in most survival situations.

As long as a psychopath can keep it mostly under-control their lack of empathy and ability to kill without hesitation could make them very useful in a lot of situations. A limited amount of OCD and paranoia isn't a bad thing in a world where there really are people out there that will kill you.

A lot of the suicides today are that people have become so focused on their little gods the TV, LAP TOP, Tablet and Phone that there is not much human connection left in the world for a lot of people. They have nobody to talk to and not really anyone that cares. We live in a very harsh and unnatural environment and the troubled easily get lost. In a post apocalyptic world you may find many of these people to be the best suited to survive.

The people for example that make the best WARRIORS during a time of war are often not the most peaceful people or successful folks in a peaceful times. The difference between a soldier and a warrior is simple. You are in an enemy zone and someone walks up on you; a soldier does some form of "Halt who goes there!" a warrior kills them checks the body to see if it offers anything they might need and then moves on.

There have always been some crazy people that committed suicide. The thing that is so troublesome today is that you are having kids as young as 8 killing themselves. People are not connecting anymore EVEN to their kids. I really think that after the initial rush when the psychologically weak kill themselves that you are going to have a more individually stable culture again.

there has been a spate of kids killing themselves over here because of what some troll said online. I always refer to my childhood rhyme "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me", seems a lot of kids these days haven't heard that one.
this may be sad but its a sign of the times we live in.
