The belt pouch went out of use in the general public in the 17th century, but was still in use in the 18th century by certain trades people & woodrunners. This pouch is used to contain what would these days often be carried in pockets. My pouch contains my fire bag with my tinderbox inside, my angling tackle, & my brass sundial compass.
