The Global Impact Of The Year Without A Summer

This happened during the Little Ice Age. Something that could certainly happen again.

 

This was the summer when Mary Shelley penned the novel Frankenstein.

 

The Krakatoa volcano/explosion changed the Earth's atmosphere for years. This phenomenon can be witnessed in the paintings of Munch and Ashcroft.
The skies went red.

Then there are the Turner paintings affected by one of those silly volcanoes.

As to the "year without a summer", the atmospheric affects went on for years and years. Here's a Turner painting of a canal. He painted this in the latter 1820s. Note the colors of the sky. Man do I love Turner. But it is Vincent who is the painter buddy of mine. Several Turner paintings show these skies. One or more, can't remember, is among Turner's paintings of sailing ships in port; ships in foreground. I'm too lazy to go find that one now.

 

Still long to overdue. Krakatoa has already unleash some backlogged eruptions including the 22nd Dec 2018 eruption that caused full flank collapse & triggering a tsunami. While Tambora had loss much of it potency and just start building up again (going to take at least thousand year)

Yep. And at this time was when scientists were trying to reanimate the dead with electricity. Onlooking woman that saw a dead arm move with electricity fainted.

Also, the corpses that were dug up were stored in barrels of whiskey to be preserved. After the body was done with the whiskey was sold off and this is where the term rot gut whiskey comes from.
