Trust?

I've always believed in the old saying " trust has to be earned not given away freely" and not more so in a major emergency/ survival situation.
in the 50s and 60s people would leave their front doors open, such was the trust in the community at that time, these days we pretty much don't know who is living next door, especially in the bigger urban centres, such is the fluidity in the housing market these days.
