I should like to take the opportunity for the membership here in stating that I am not a Republican....not happening.

I don't trust the Republicans any more than do I the Democrats....or the left.

The Republicans are to me nothing more than Democrat Lite.


I am a Conservative .....not a Republican. I have a distrust of politicians across the board.

I mostly want to be left alone in my life with my property earned and sometimes at great risks.


That is how I know about people and risk taking......because many times in my life...occupation I have been out there on the edge of the razor blade so to speak...and knowing you have to come back tomorrow and do it again.

This experience/knowledge has caused me to take a closer look at what many people take for granted ..including someone else's risk taking.

These people looting and destroying other peoples property/businesses/homes et al. Are they they kind of people with knowledge of risk taking to restore said property..homes....businesses???

You see....???

This is why, to me, they are nothing more than Ishmaelites...two legged wildlife...and I want no part of them in my life.

No one seems want to bring up this kind of view when posting such news about the engineered chaos going on around the country.


Am very very concerned that this Hell on Earth Dogma will run wild between now and the election ..and even aftewords...by just such entitlement minded non Risk taking people and groups.

To me ...someone is trying to put the Non Risk takers ahead of the Risk takers by default until certain goals are reached.....after which these non risk takers will be cast to the side as an expired convenience....if history serves me correctly.

But in the mean time..it will be chaos and hell ...manufactured for just such political/social purposes.

City I'm in is like a graveyard, very very quiet. I took a walk last night to the marina, beautiful private boats moored with very few showing lights. Found a McDonald's last night got take out food, same today in a tapas place. Its a beautiful city and sad to see it quiet like this. Don't get me wrong still people about but normally its a hustle bustle place. Just had a couple of beers, outdoor table with full table service. Got a bank account opened and viewed two properties, one is a no no but the second was great, seeing more tomorrow.

 

No tourists Lonewolf, there are some but there would normally be a lot more. Off out for something to eat then back to watch a film/movie or two I bought out on a USB stick eat cake and drink a couple of shots of the single malt I will buy on my way back. This is the cheapest overseas trip I've done in years.

The Democrats and Republicans are not the same Chris. If the Republicans could have their way all industry would be shipped out to other countries and the Rich would own EVERYTHING and the rest of us would be nothing until they got around to exterminating any of us that were not serving them. The Democrats would just shut down all of our polluting evil industries and the Rich would own and rule but the Minorities, especially those that refuse to work, would be given food, homes, cars, and expensive sneakers while the rest of us worked in government-run labor camps to support them...We are already sort of going there.

 

When nobody has a job people either do what they are told or starve to death. The end result for the middle class is NOT much different. As the Republicans support moving all the industry to places with fewer restrictions they are also trying to do away with any assistance to the people whose lives they are destroying. The Democrats are pushing the companies out as hard and fast as they can with ever-increasing regulations and more and more taxes. Taxing a company is stupid. When you tax a company you are just taking money out of the pockets of the people that work there. The stockholders are not going to lose money and will just dump a losing stock and move there money to someplace more profitable. You tax people. That way those that have the most pay the most and by that I mean as a percentage of their income. Ten Thousand is everything to a poor man but almost nothing to a billionaire. We have plenty of billionaires.

The Democrats seem to want EVERYONE on welfare. They are so ignorant that they don't understand that money that isn't backed by some sort of production is nothing more than bad toilet paper. Many of their hopes seem to be to make it so that everyone has to live in one of the megacities. Without cars, people in rural places will slowly go broke and lose their homes. Without industry, we will have nothing to offer for trade.

Look at what the lives they are pushing for is like for those fortunate people that live. Drug infested hell holes with crime as a major part of everyday life. Isn't that what everyone should want for their family. Our Government is becoming a festering mess. When meat rots you throw it out you don't just spray it with something to cover up the smell and live with it.

 

I have been prepping for years for It to hit the fan . We seem to now be in the early stages of bedlam . My mindset is now turning into a bunker mentality . Sit in my bugout location and watch the Democrat rats destroy their own rat nests and in the mean time thinning out their own kind with their mindless killings . When they have fouled up their own selves enough , they will spill into the areas responsible people have set up hoping they can pillage what the working people have accumulated . I've got an example to offer.

This examples illustrates some of the involved political dynamics.

The Cheaspeake Bay once had a large and thriving fishing industry (includes the "shellfish" categories). Besides being overfished concurrent with a larger area population placing stress on everything in the area, a governmental matter can be seen.

Ther domestic US fishing industry was ultra-regulated from safety to resource deplection prevention ... all the rest. This is an expensive event. I'm surely not saying that safety is bad; just expensive from some views.

Concurrent with the domestic Chesapeake Bay fishing environment, the US import regulations and tariff allow for very low cost (relatively speaking) seafood to enter the US market. Go to a grocery store and glance at the cans' label with country of origin. These overseas places are not famous for safety, hygiene, and the other aspects of goodness. Check the prices.

 

The UK is in reality a one party state these days, the Labour party has no leadership, no clear and viable economic/social policies that make sense and the ruling right wing tory party seem hell bent on driving down the economic suicide path so we're stuffed.

I was too young to see the show when it first aired years ago but I've downloaded the old shows and find them very very cutting but funny.

 

Johnson is right wing and I've no doubt that without covid he'd have sold off the NHS by now, he can't split it up too much now but when they get back into power he will I've no doubt. If EU membership gives member citizens mobility to work in member countires, can't, for example, citizens of Macrdonia and Bulgaria work in the UK and ask for lower wages thus replacing British workers ?

Only indirectly related to my question; ...... never understood the Northern Ireland "backdoor" to the EU arrangement. For that matter, still don't understand the UK's devolution arrangements.

 

Once I knew Brits as friends and acquaintances -- now I do not. It has been decades that. Now, what I know, is mostly only that which I have read. Yes, there are Brits at work (physicians, medical, high-tech), but I do not know them well enough to just, out of the blue, chat them up -- and heaven forbid, that the conversation topic be of any political nature.

Something that differs mightily (horribly, maddeningly) between this current world and decades back is that no one sits down and has in-depth conversations . I used to sit down and simply have happy long talks with very different people than myself (hours of debate into early morning, lots of hot tea, teas prepared by folk who weren't Americans). These talks involved some young Americans (the over-educated like myself), people from other countries (several who had escaped from Iran, post-shah-Pavlavi), plus older/wiser people from all over (there was a University nearby). One shuts their mouth when an elder speaks; education vs. experience -- experience crushes any formal education. Yes, I did come up with some "educated" thoughts, to which I would hear, "Oh, how very nice," then the wise would vivisect my thoughts, burn my very premise like cigarette paper. Though embarrassing, it was intensely enlightening. As a child, I could get slapped for speaking when an elder had the floor. As a young man, I learned why that discipline.

When I was a kid, my world had few children and I didn't particularly get along with them (I thought children acted like children, never really was a child myself). My world was mainly composed of an overwhelming number of older men and women (all born before 1930, half born before 1910). I was expected to act like an adult at age 8.

The above is that which educated me and biased me.

But I do talk to other Americans for sure. Mostly they lean to the left. Right now in history, what I've heard and what I perceive has it that a lot of Americans see the political climate in London and the other large cities of Britain as being divided between the Left and the ultra-Left.

When a youth, I was taught by older generations and people from other nations what happens when religion becomes corrupted, when governments become centralized. Hell follows. I personally knew those who had had to escape persecutions and pogroms. I've witnesses the faces of those who still had family back in the hell-hole countries from which they fled.

I also have witnessed biologic cancers eat people. Now I watch the cancer of communism springing back up with the intent to eat the nations of the West. Surgery, chemo, biologics, radiation, ... one wonders how the war will be fought this time. I smell the smell of the cancer ward.

I don't see the EU as being far left at all; more social aware, more prepared to provide for people but remember the EU needs unskilled labour and that is where a large part of immigrants end up, doing jobs the locals won't do. The left wing badge comes from social provision which I'm all in favour of but look on every street corner in the west and you'll find owners from India/Pakistan/far east working 90 hours a week for not a lot of profit, if it was easy it would still be ma and pa shops, the immigrants filled the gap left by ma and pa's kids who won't put the hours in for piss poor money in their pockets.

 

If a single mother applies for a welfare check for her and her child, she should be asked for the name of the baby's father. If she cannot name all the men who could potentially be the child's father, the infant should be taken from her and placed with a responsible family.

The father having been named and genetically tested to confirm his paternity should be required to take any open jobs. Refusal to do so should result in them being sent to a labor camp where they can learn to do work. If all jobs filled then immigration to the unskilled should be stopped until work is needed. Jobs available = no mendicancy. If a person is crippled or blind and neither family nor charity is available then society must support them.

In the above post and other threads, you're comingling 2 different subjects - they're closely related but cannot be understood until understanding each of these subjects independently.

The too-few jobs in the US is mostly traced to the huge Social Security welfare program. The program drains away investment capital from businesses seeking to expand and requiring new hires. It's the same for new businesses. It's easier to get a job in the public sector than to even look for investment capital for a new business.

Trump is trying to get the Social Security system "means tested" - available only for those in need. For the record, Brits don't need to know this but I'll be challenged unless I mention something now. I don't want to write long explainations later. The Social Security program is not only funded by the FICA tax collections. The general fund also pays some of the disbursements.

It's a racket - and I admit I'm in the program.

The other subject:

The national welfare programs are out of control. When a teenager - here in Virginia it's also common enough for a pre-teen - has a baby, the public sector funds everything from the pre-birth classes to the criminal justice system when the child ends up in prison . Must I mention no father ?

I will not discuss abortion matters - at least not in this thread.

Trump just opened up the huge Federal civil service to those without a family, without an education and without any social structure less perhaps a gang. He is waiving the tickets: high school diploma, college degrees, etc. As long as the Federal supervisor and department director believe the person can do the job - He/she can. The ones currently on the payroll are really sinecures. Same for the military.

Reagan tried to reform the welfare programs. Research why the D.C. jury found the shoot innocent of criminal activity.

Old Geezer, I find it telling that you made that comment and it was assumed that you could only be referring to black men. I am a lot like you in this general idea. I was raised with the belief that the biggest difference between a MAN and an animal has to do more with honor than intelligence. There are a lot of human male animals. Some are Black and they get a lot of attention but even more, these days are not black.

In the past a Black man couldn't have honor. They were not free to do what was right and had to do what they were told to do or ELSE. It will take a long time for the scares of that sort of thing to be erased from a people's psyche. What is most troublesome to me is that what is actually a flaw caused by injury to a people has become something admirable to the children of people with no excuse for that sort of behavior.

Children need Fathers. A father isn't a sperm donor. It has become all too acceptable for men to spawn children with several women and only be a father in the rawest biological sense. Doing this has voluntarily done to an entire generation of children what centuries of slavery did to the Black people. Raised without fathers these kids learn their ideas about honor from peers and what does any child know about honor?

A culture is passed from one generation to the next. Daycares have no culture. with no Fathers and Mothers too busy working to have much time for kids is it any wonder that our American world is collapsing as these children that never were a part of it are taking over?

Pew is not a neutral organization. It has biases against Trump.

America's key allies - not what the article calls the key allies - have political establishments that DO support the Trump administration. Have you followed the British military rehab ? Would you expect the German public - at least those interviewed by Pew - to be neutral in their statements when Trump just delayed Norstream 2 pipeline ?

Biden's speech was slow & slurred; this brought back many unhappy memories. While at university, I worked with stroke patients concerning their speech and language disorders. Biden has CNS issues and that's just hard to watch. It is deeply sick of Biden's handlers to let this charade go on.

Trump continuing to beat-down brain-damaged Biden was not one of Trump's best moments. The unforgivable lies the Democratic Socialists put in Biden's mouth (I guess I should say ear canals) were not Biden's fault. Trump should have said, "There is something wrong with my opponent's health, please have someone see to him right about now."

Biden's financial felonies over the decades do not mean that he should be tortured in his dotage. I think that comes under "cruel and unusual punishment".

Trump should have debated Kamala Harris, the actual Democratic Socialist candidate.

My central question for Trump would be, "Sir, we know that the socialists will continue to print mountains of money, however are you not sir ALSO printing money that is NOT backed and the debts attending to which can never be paid-down? Is not the choice of the people at the November polls one of selecting the speed at which the our nation's currency collapses?!"

I would have eventually asked Trump, "Mr. President, why are you not shutting down the pandemonium and arson occurring in our cities? We know that the Left supports this violence and thievery, but by your withholding of federal law enforcement troops, are you not yourself allowing the destruction of government buildings and commercial businesses to continue?"

Let's face it, there are people living in cities who vote Left-wing and thus deserve to be attacked by their own fellow-travelers who march, scream, and burn at 2:00 AM. However there are also good people, civilized human beings, who need to be protected from the uncivilized masses. Such decent folk would move, but love where they live -- such cities were once civilized, we mustn't forget. Also. these people simply haven't the funds nor have the means to bug-out. When citizens are attacked and their socialist state and city governments refuse to protect them, is there not a place for the executive branch of the federal government to send aid to them in the form of uniformed federal police agencies? I think so. It is much like an American embassy in some other country being surrounded by armed savages. One must act. If the citizens in socialist states defend themselves against the arsonists, thugs, and looters, they will be arrested and charged by their socialist overlords. The Fed has to step in if you ask me.

Or, we can just get on with the shooting civil war. There are hundreds of thousands of volunteers who would love to march into the areas of anarchy and bring about peace by any means necessary. When the economy tanks, people are going to be taking care of business themselves anyway. Even Big Brother will be without any money whatsoever to pay people in uniform to do anything.

Me, I see Trump as being oftentimes rather soft on illegal immigration and riot control. Too, he allows this economically fatal money-printing to continue. Harry Truman or Dwight Eisenhower would have crushed such goings-on.
