    no national lockdown but as from next weekend all large gatherings (of over 500 people) are banned, sporting fixtures, music festivals, business seminars etc.
    Wimbledon and Glastonbury will be affected.
    London Marathon has been postponed, no premier league Football being played until September.

    IMO that is the better approach than lockdown. This disease is attached to people NOT place, unless the majority of the city / region were infected (which is unlikely)

    The idea is NOT to prevent the virus spreading, just to slow it down so that the health service can cope with the number of serious or life threatening cases. The theory is that once you've had it you will have resistance to it in future. Hopefully there will soon be a vaccine to help protect the elderly and vulnerable.
    There is also information that taking 10 micrograms of vitamin D3 daily supplement can you help get over the infection. Fortified cod liver oil is a good source.
