I cannot work out what is happening here. Our Prime Minister Boris Johnson seems to imagine himself as FDR and has all these grandiose plans to "invest" us out of the pandemic. Most of his plans are quite bonkers. For example we are investing billions in to a new high speed railway that was really part of the plans to fully unify Europe. The net gain of that project? It will save twenty minutes to get between London and Birmingham. To give a little perspective that distance is only 100 miles. What is the point? I think he (and his predecessors that came up with this ridiculous scheme) are striving to be remembered as great statesmen. They will certainly be remembered, but for all the wrong reasons.

Trident is an old system but it works and the electronics will be updated but the billions spent on two carriers don't sit well with me. At the moment a carrier fleet is a formidable platform but as technology improves carriers become more vulnerable to attack so for me they are heading toward obsolescence. British army is now smaller than its been in 400 years and they are looking at more cuts; a high tech army is wonderful but you need boots on the ground. Its great having the best trained forces in the world but we simply don't have enough personnel; we got enough specialists lets get some extra bog standard troops on the active list

Genetics does indeed play a BIG role in human behavior . Anyone that has been around livestock or even dogs should know this . Different breeds have different temperaments . I know it is not politically correct to point this out when it comes to humans , but genetics does contribute to personality and behavioral characteristics . Thus why same species of birds flock with their own racial make up and humans naturally tend to do the same thing .
