wife just visited our local NHS health centre, to be told " we dont do face to face appointments", not everything can be done on the phone or on a video link-many older people arent online anyway.
so thats it , our NHS as we knew it is no more. time to go private I think, if you can.

I am a prepper, I hate that word,I am a SURVIVALIST, who has sorted private medical care . My wife had cancer, and my preps sorted it. Why didn’t you? Are you ( your favourite word) a sheeple, who relies on our NHS? I see you are labelled as a ‘Legendary Survivalist’.

During covid panic, the computer "office visit" became far more prevalent. And now post-panic, the "on screen" visits are continuing so as to save money ... i.e. not lives.

This phenom is why we are now seeing a statistical bump-up in yearly deaths. Even the medical community recognizes that cancer, diabetes, and cardiac death rates went up due to a lack of face-to-face meetings. What physicians discover when actually examining patients is astounding.

At my most recent dermatology check-up, my doctor found two more skin cancers.

Lack of check-ups for diabetics results in amputations and death. One medical school with which I worked also had a school of podiatry. There I learned that a small crew of podiatrists began doing work within Native American communities and that this work caused the death rate among these people to drop drastically. Why? They treated diabetic foot ulcers and in so doing were diagnosing and treating the diabetic condition itself. In so doing, hundreds of lives were being saved.

Scrimping on preventative medicine results in higher death counts in communities.

    ------------

    In Canada alone:

"Delayed health care during pandemic may have led to thousands of excess deaths: study"

    https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coron...to-thousands-of-excess-deaths-study-1.5686765

"Health-care restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic may have contributed to thousands of excess deaths not related to the virus, along with increased incidents of mental health disorders and substance use, and have put a strain on the Canadian health-care system, according to a study commissioned by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).

"The study shows that delayed treatments or missed health-care services due to pandemic restrictions may have been a factor in more than 4,000 excess deaths unrelated to COVID-19 infections between August and December 2020 and have also resulted in a significant backlog of medical procedures.

"Excess deaths refer to the number of deaths above the expected rate. The number of deaths in Canada was higher than expected from spring 2020 into winter early 2021, the study says, and during much of the time between August and December within that period the volume of excess deaths was estimated to be higher than the number of COVID-19 deaths, although it was lower in the following months."

many cancers were not picked up in the UK during the pandemic, checks post lockdowns were sadly too late for many people as the cancer had progressed too far during that time.

energy prices are supposed to be capped for 2 years for domestic users, at around £2,500 per year which is slightly up on current prices, lots of people talking about "heating OR eating" but whether that is just the usual sheeple panicking like they do I'm not sure.
depends what the winter is like I suppose, last winter was quite mild down here.

Just my hillbilly thinking but if that is all it takes to solve inflation prices in " the UK "then here in the U.S. all we have to do is to get Joe Biden to declare all food prices and gasoline and diesel prices frozen and " the problem is solved " ;). Actually this is totally ridiculous . This will not end well .

its only domestic energy prices, and there will be a price to pay in increased taxation later, inflation in the UK stands at about 9.8% at present.

Don't trust the media too much, all we see in the UK is a USA with rampant inflation, high unemployment, falling dollar and a weak president pampering to the demands of radical left wing groups and a social infrastructure coming apart at the seems with a failing health and education system. I'm sure all thats just media BS.

A remarkable day in the UK today and a heartfelt thank you to all the men and women who's planning and execution displayed a day that will remain the the minds not just of British people but of people all round the globe who watched the events unfold.

Youtube videos going live all the time of Americans totally knocked out at what they saw of the Queen's funeral.

Inflation is rampant when it heads over 20% / 30% for all products. After that, the bottom falls out with hyper-inflation. All fiat currencies -- especially in this day and age -- will inflate out of existence. When people go to barter and silver coins, that is the point where fiat can be considered deceased. It wasn't just Germany in the 20th century that went belly-up. Over 20 national currencies died.

In the USSA, the cities are devolving towards a 3rd world sort of chaos. This will not happen in England until a whole lot more migrants are let in. When things go really bad, irrespective of the time in human history, any and all "outsiders" will be condemned and attacked. This is happening in South Africa even as we speak.

The states of the Southwest USSA will likely revert to Mexico / Hispanic peoples. It used to belong to them. Will likely again. The sheer numbers of Hispanics will overwhelm the European blood. No matter how many will be killed, reproduction will win. Hispanics consider whites squishy soft and indeed most are. The major cities out there are occupied by people who moved their from other states, many from Northern states / liberal states. Those people are unarmed and dependent on technology = run away or get killed. The strong people of Texas will put up a fight and a half, but could very well be overwhelmed unless they will fire into women and children. Current migration sees almost all males -- those guys could be cannon fodder.

The U.K. is not in this situation yet. When the famines go TURBO, we'll see what happens. Millions will head north out of Africa, but could die in transit.

The USA is a migrant country, it was built by immigrants much the same as the UK.

There is no such thing as a 'pure' Englishman, Scotsman, Irishman or Welshman; our DNA is a mishmash of our past invaders and immigrants. I've done a DNA test and the results were interesting including a couple of surprises. Traced my fathers family back to 1520 and am working on my mothers side now.

Looking at the makeup of the attendees of the Queen's funeral yesterday really bought home what a diverse country the UK is and overall how well we've integrated as a society.

I believe we have to stop thousands of people crossing the Channel every week; France could easily stop it but they won't and something needs to be done. We're a small island, we're overcrowded and we simply cannot afford to support these people (who in reality will not contribute to the country) either financially or social support. We have a chronic housing shortage at the moment which will take decades to resolve even if the funding is made available; the boat is full, no room for more passengers.

I've much admiration for Jordan B Peterson and found this interview very interesting, its well worth watching

immigrants to the UK make up 14.4% of the population or 9.6 million people so we are still a predominately white community, although in some parts of the capital this is the opposite, some of my ancestors many centuries ago came from Europe fleeing Religious persecution, but that is only a small part of my DNA, my family were for generations farmers and fishermen as most were back then.
"migrants" crossing the channel are Illegal Immigrants who have to pay People Smugglers, this is the trade that must be stopped, if the French wont do it-after all it starts on their territory- then we must do it for ourselves, the tiny inflatables are very flimsy and fragile.

You’re missing the point a little LW, these migrations have been going on since the Mesolithic period. It isn’t just about skin colour, it’s about cultures, attitudes a mix of religions. Britain is a melting pot of different cultures. Some for the better, some for the worse.
I do believe though that if someone wishes to move to the UK they should learn the languages and follow the rules.

Have a DNA test done for fun, have it as an xmas prezzie; you can choose not to share results but you get an ethnic breakdown. I've no mainland Europe DNA, a bit of Welsh and Scottish, central England and a chunk of Norwegian, the Welsh and Scottish was a bit of a surprise but the English/Norwegian was expected.

I used Ancestry dot com and not being paranoid did share my results and came up with almost 500 DNA links (normal) and the database searches have been absolutely amazing. I'm really into Genealogy now, its an addictive pastime for sure and fascinating when you turn up a bit of a black sheep in the family history ;)

Yea, the beach landers cannot stay, round them up on the beach and straight back to France, then France needs to send them back to Italy et al and the Italians ship them to country of origin but this can only work if Europe works together and ignore the loud mouth minority screaming human rights abuse shite.

Want to come to the UK? Fine, fill in the forms and if you can contribute to our society with needed skills your welcome, if not then there is no room at the Inn for you, sounds harsh to some but its a reality check. The UK has to become unattractive to illegal immigrants because at the moment, for many of them, living in one room in the UK with benefits they've not contributed to from past work, free healthcare, free education, is a dam sight more attractive than where they've come from. Thats the world we live in and we are not responsible for everyone else, we need to put our national family first and ten years ago I never thought I'd think like this let alone talk about it.

Anyone in America claiming that they are a "pure blooded" anything / any people should first get a DNA test. All DNA on this side of "the pond" is mixed.

Got my DNA checked and it is from Ulster (mainly Ulster; Y chromosome is from there), Scandinavia, Germany, plus a few drops of blood from Pakistan. I like that Pakistani part because the region of Pakistan from which it comes is inhabited by followers of Sufi Islam, mystical Islam; i.e. not the head-banging / kill-all-the-infidels variety of Islam. Had a good friend from the Punjab (abuts Pakistan). He was a Sikh. I find really beautiful spirituality in Sufic and Sikh writings/poetry.

I suspect the issue regarding beach landers has more to do with pathetic petty politics. There are some rules surrounding asylum that suggest people should claim it in the first "safe" country they arrive in. The beach landers, however, are not asylum seekers (in the main) but are in the main economic migrants (allegedly they pay a considerable sum to risk their lives in the channel etc). There is an immigration process that allows people to come to the UK. I often wonder why these people do not use that. Are they up to no good? Maybe. Either way it has become a political football that is blown out of all proportion and, in all likelihood misreported.

They don't use it because they'd be refused a visa, they don't have the skills needed for one. Brits can't just turn up in the USA/Canada/New Zealand/Australia and say 'hi, I'm moving here', you have to have needed skills, skills that will benefit your host country and thats fair enough in my opinion. I've no problem with genuine asylum seekers who's lives are in danger but in reality they are few and far between.

Re: Sikhs, my best friend in school was Sikh and he's still my best friend. I served with several Sikhs and they are solid soldiers and good officers with strong military ethics. Get a Sikh friend and you have a true friend for life... Manas ki jaat sabe eke pehchanbo

Yup, it began as a small altercation after a Pakistan v India cricket match (whoever thought that would be a good idea) and it has grown out of all proportion. If you think some white people are racist you should hear some of the insults that Indians and Pakistanis serve up to each other.

--- Here is a video on the financial collapse that spends a lot of the time discussing the bind the United Kingdom is now in , so decided to put it under this thread . Knowing at least one of our U.K. members income is a pension was interested that pensions in the U.K. are on critical life support and in jeopardy of collapse . Seeing how the communist now appear to be censoring Bit Chute posts from reaching Lone Wolf , realize this is probably only a small part of the information that is being withheld from U.K. members . Total financial collapse may be closer than some know . Perhaps it will somehow be diverted . Regardless I am sure our U.K. members are fully prepared . -- On another post I remember thinking how irrational the U.K. government's thinking was to believe they could simply freeze prices to a certain date on certain critical items . Now that type of irrational thinking is about to crash . -- Reviewing that post , I said " this will not end well " .

On the one hand Liz Truss was saying she’d let the markets decide if she was right or wrong on the other hand she has been opposing ordinary people charging the market value for their labour, the government even discussed bring back legislation which would make it illegal to withhold labour which was abolished along with serfdom. When the financial markets decided they didn’t like the new mini budget Truss and Kwatang decided to press on and bullshit us that it’s all down to Putin’s war. Don’t be surprised if Truss engineers some other diversion like a war somewhere. During Her Majesty the Queen’s mourning period Lizz Truss sneaked several unpopular ministerial and policy changes through under the radar.
The chancellor isn’t even a real economist, his PHD was in economic history, his paper was something to do with the history of British coinage.
We have a new Prime Minister but have merely exchanged dishonesty for pig headed incompetence.

we will see, the markets have calmed down a bit, the pound is now above what it was before the mini budget, and even the energy prices that the companies have to pay could come down , the intervention is already expected to cost half of what was originally expected, the tax cuts dont kick in for 6 months, I'm inclined to think people, both business and the public, panic too easily.

My faith in Truss's abilities is marginally higher than I have in Biden so its not a lot.

She's the UKs first woke driven leader who dished out top jobs based on skin tone and not ability and to fill the magic ratio quotas of colour and gender IMO.

People aged 65 and over get a state pension so thats safe enough and other benefits if its your sole income. Some people also have occupational pensions. I'll end up with military/private funded/state pensions.

The economy has hit a rough patch as have pretty the economies of the developed West; its a pain in the ass but we'll get through it in the end. Brexit has not helped so all those who voted for it should be forced to remove shoes and socks and run barefoot over a field of lego bricks.

we've been paying for the crash of 2008 through quantitive easing/printing more money, and pretending everything was okay, or at least the Politicians were, this mini budget was to stop all that and face reality.
I dont know that Truss is woke or that people were promoted on skin colour, time will tell.
we will have to disagree about Brexit and leave it at that.

If the government caps prices or eats the cost of higher energy prices, somebody still has to pay for higher costs of the fuel. That is taxpayers. The government doesn't create money to pay for socialist causes. If it does, then the value of the currency is meaningless.

If the government passes the costs on to industry, then industry must charge higher prices for their products or lay-off employees. Higher prices are paid by the people, or if the industry sells their goods to other nations, then their products become much less competitive. If the people who are industrious, i.e. making very good money, are taxed more, then their incentive to come up with new ideas goes away.

Central government is great at screwing up economies and getting a nation into foreign wars.

the figure of £2,500 is I believe an average figure, the kwh as you stated is the one that is capped, but the more energy one uses the more they will pay.

I watched the video, 8 minutes of my life wasted and the presenter looked and sounded like he was medicated. Quick glance at his other videos and he's just a panic merchant.

House prices will drop but they have been ludicrously high for some years so certainly from a buyers point of view its not a bad thing depending on interest rates not shooting through the roof.

We've had problems like this in the past and survived and we'll do the same now. I'm a down to earth glass half full type of fella and I don't sit there salivating at the prospect of mass suffering like some people...I've got a life to live ;)

UK debt clock. When a country can no longer pay the interest on its debt, then that is that. Game over.

"The Bank of England has intervened in order to try and stabilise financial markets in the wake of steep falls in the pound against the dollar.

"Earlier today, it announced it would launch a UK Government bond-buying programme on “whatever scale is necessary” as an emergency move.

"Nicola Sturgeon has said the UK has not been in a more serious economic crisis in living memory including the global financial crisis in 2008.

"Why is the Bank of England acting now?

"The central bank was worried that a lack of stability and panic in the financial markets was resulting in the UK’s cost of borrowing increasing at an alarming rate.

"It hoped the announcement of its intention to intervene would bring a sense of calm and help stabilise the market somewhat.

"It is hoping to offer the government some respite from a financial situation which threatens to wreck plans for a £150 billion energy price cap and tax cuts worth up to £45bn"

The scary thing is that this graph ends in 2019 and UK national debt has rocketed since then. Personal debt is also unsustainably high:eek:

At this point the catastrophe seems initiable . To spare our more sensitive members , I will try to be vague . What Old Geezer and I have been saying will be un-deniable in a year or two .

I would that we were not right. I feel like I'm living in Europe in 1937 and seeing WWII on the horizon. I feel like I'm on a river knowing the enormous waterfall is just ahead, but no one will take heed to my saying that they must head their boats to shore right now. I cannot count the number of horrors overdue. Seems as if no one has ever opened a history book.

I strongly suspect the capitalism, in its current form, has reached the end of its tenable life. It is too susceptible to greed and in today's world greed seems to be ever present. The question is what would replace it? We've seen communism come to an end, so that is both ends of the extreme that have, or are, failing. Maybe a more co-operative trading society and a bit more bartering might rise in prominence?

There is capitalism in communist states. Under centralized government, those with the guns (government officials) trade in perquisites. Under the USSR regime, there were no shortages on dachas in the Ural mountains.

"Might makes right," and there is always trade. Greed is what makes this world go 'round.

Aggression is due to the ready availability of victims.

not sure capitalism has reached its end, but I think globalism has too many faults and recent events have shown just how fragile the supply chain is, localism and bartering may be the way to go.
