Don't understand the difficulty in verifying that the maintenance manuals are complete.

Don't forget the Connie techie comic book type of maintenance manual. Reports even up in Congress said this comic book style manual substitutes were read and adhered to. Some "cultural" scandal minimized the value of these "comic books".

At least they still have running engine and complete set of wheels & tire (hopefully run flat tire) If you think that is bad I've seen worse here, ranging from field ration, small arms ammunition, helicopter, land vehicle, fighter planes, submarine

 

I get the need for mobility and the need to have an easily deployable vehicle to aid in mobility of light forces. With one of my military tours being in a “light” infantry unit, this type of asset was sorely needed. But looking at this new vehicle, it’s a snipers dream come true. I would hate to be in one of those driving in Mogadishu or Fallujah. Unfortunately, military acquisitions have always had to compromise one aspect of need for another. Sad that crew survivability was sacrificed for mobility.

 

Not taking account the possibility of embezzlement, military acquisition is about getting the most out of the cheapest bidder, either that or which proposal create more jobs. The basic tenet are the same anywhere in the world

It will save more lives by creating jobs at homefront.
