Valerian is a wonderful herb with many good beneficial effects. The medicine is actually produced from its root.

The most common use for the valerian root is to help deal with sleeping disorders. My friend had severe problems with insomnia and didn't want the regular sleeping pills - she ended up using the valerian root after a recommendation from a local herbalist and it actually worked.

You can also use it for other things such as a headache, nauseous, asthma, muscle pain, anxiety, blood pressure, ...

Be careful about using it if you are currently pregnant, breastfeeding or recently had a surgery.
