That rally on the 20'th is going to be a "TRAP". They need to abort on the rally. They are being set-up. There are a lot of very smart people at the "Western Rifle Shooters Association" that are begging them to abort.

This communist inspired propaganda just shows how worried they are of the freedom fighters . I just wonder if the governor and his henchmen will go into hiding on the 20th . I will refrain from saying what I think should be done to the governor and his henchmen . It is not just Virginia but the 2nd amendment across the entire U.S. that is coming under threat . If Virginia gets by with this there will be other anti America leaders that will try to follow suit . ---- This could turn violent in one second . It would take months to work through the court system and I am not a lawyer but I can not see how this overreach by Virginia officals would survive a Supreme Court ruling .

I think Matt Bracken........is a smart guy on this subject. If this rally goes violent it will be bad for all of Americans interested in firearms. This rally is not just about Virginia.

 

Remember the set-up at the twin'peaks restaurant in Waco, TX. Where the BATF&E and State Police were waiting on the roofs with M-16's and arrested 200 motorcycle dudes, and killed a bunch more. If anything bad happens it will 100% be blamed on all gun owners

Imagine this rally and someone set off cherry bombs, there is going to be thousands of protesters on both sides of this issue, many with guns.

Consider the dozens of false flag set-ups. This has more ways to turn bad negative and very little chance of altering the outcome of the pending new laws. This rally could totally Backfire.

There near zero chance this will have a positive outcome. Does anyone truly think this rally will stop the laws from being passed.

 

No what it will do is show that gun owners are bat'shit crazy. And likely push serious laws through congress.........do you what to bet on what Donald Trump would do in an election year. This is the wrong action at the wrong time.

 

This puke comes from hysteria. The person or persons writing it are in no way in control of their emotions -- they are having a tantrum / hissy-fit. It is the definition of a screed.

This sort of irrationality is why this nation is being torn apart. People are trapped in adolescence and vote for Mommy and Daddy, add Big Brother, to nurse them through life.

 

It's not about spouting rhetoric on the internet while doing nothing at all either.

If it "goes violent" it won't be the gun owners who made it happen.

Matt Bracken is entitled to an opinion, but it's no better than anyone else's.

The people I know who are going are far from crazy, and they are actually making an effort instead of sitting around trying to tell others what to do.

I was waiting for the members to comment before I made mine on this article.

Many of the members here are correct in that this is a pure propaganda article but I was particularly interested in the details of how and why it is so.


Today in the common technique of the left it is to demonize any opposition and we see the opening steps of this demonization in the very title. Pro 2nd Amendment people wanting to exercise their rights are now "extremists.".

This is textbook leftist labeling technique.

It is also out of the GFW Hegel technique of "thesis, anti thesis, and synthesis." Most of us know this kind of mind manipulation as "Good Cop/Bad Cop."

You see this a plenty on the left as such an propaganda technique and particularly in leftist media today.


Now scroll down to the first paragraph and note that their technique is to frame an argument in terms of a narrative for which they can control emotionally and one for which emotionally others would not be able to easily control.

Years ago the gun control people tried to, use hunting to frame their arguments and it failed. They have since learned their lesson. They have now reframed their position to appeal to the segment of America interested in safety and...in particular...women voters.

For they know that by appealing emotionally to women voters that these women voters are the most likely to vote for safety and willing to sacrifice the rights and or property of others to get safety...or even the "appearance" of safety.


The problem no one seems want to bring up or notice is that the Second Amendment says nothing about safety in like manner to that it does not say anything about hunting.


The other standard leftist Good Cop/Bad Cop technique is "labeling their opposition."

Extremists...supremacists...and furthermore....White Supremacists.

If you notice this is the exact pattern and technique by which the left has attempted to label the current President....extremist, Nazi, homophobe, racist, white supremist etc. etc. etc. et al.


They not only resort to labeling to make their points but also open and blatant Racism. All this while trying to frame others as Racists.

This is further appeal to emotional manipulation among those they consider easily and emotionally controlled. This particularly by Good Cop/Bad Cop techniques.

They cannot allow reason and logic to enter and upset their manipulation methods. They must always appeal to the emotionally weak and insecure.

The Second Amendment says nothing about Race, nor Hunting, nor Safety. Few seem to notice this while they reframe the argument in terms that they and the media control.
This is bait and switch. It is not 2A.

Time and events are showing the left to be the essence of the very thing for which they try to label others...in particular....extremists in all their points.

Their labeling and re framing propaganda techniques are designed to conceal that it is they who are the extremists against the rights and liberties of the American people and our form of limited government.


Just a bit of what I notice about much of the leftist techniques of social manipulation....and it stands out in this article.


You are going to see much much more of this Rabid manipulation technique before the 2020 election as a standard bill of fare. You are seeing it extensively in leftist media today.

I attribute much of this to the understanding that the left cannot change their spots. Good Cop/Bad Cop is also standard issue Socialist/Communist Propaganda technique.

I am very disappointed in the NRA as well as other pro 2A groups for not teaching this awareness of such an oft used/misused propaganda technique on the American people...not just on 2A but on other social issues as well. It ought not to be this way. The American people need to be awakened/awoke to it across this land unto a standard leftist propaganda control technique....for "Herding!!"

I also think that the rally is being manipulated to become a set up worse than
Charlottesville. The media will be there to make sure it is socially and politically fixed against 2A folks.

This is much bigger than 2A....much much bigger. It will not end with 2A.

Very biased, but so are the pro gun articles. So what's surprising? Proponents on both sides of any argument will use triggering words to get their points across!

Just because I'm a pro-Second Amendment person doesn't mean I can't see biased propaganda when I see it -- by anyone.

 

The pro 2A people are defending a fundamental Right under the U. S. Constitution to be armed....and their right from birth...not given by a government sovereign.

The anti 2A people are attempting to propagandize a fundamental Right and re frame the debate In terms of safety and governmental power and not a fundamental Right or limit on government. This is Bait and Switch politics and sometimes known as "Whoredom."

Political whoredom...misrepresentation and skewing to increase and strengthen government power and control at the expense of the liberties and freedoms of the people....as well as against the oath taken by public servants.

No one wants to ever mention the oath taken by these public servants. we are not supposed to be able to think that far.

Another version of this is buying, selling, bartering the very soul of a nation and people their rights and liberties for the political expedience/power of government or whoever or whatever is the government.

In short a government, or whom or whatever is the government, incrementally trying to increase its power and move again towards " Absolute Power and Divine Right of Kings."

Once you know this pattern and history you know what the Virginia State government is doing...increasing government power at the expense of the liberties and freedoms of the people.....as a pilot program for the entire nation and people.

And propaganda is a very important tool for government in this kind of "Herding."

I am not supposed to be able to think nor remember that far back in time.

This is in stark contrast to the standard leftist stock labeling propaganda distortion media techniques of manufacturing their opposition as Extremists, racists, Nazis, sexists, homophobes, white supremacists or any other propaganda label designed to set the hook and reel in the unthinking.

In almost all cases...when you study and look historically you see government trying over and over using and misusing propaganda on the people to increase its power and herd away the freedoms, rights, and liberties of the people.

Usually this involves fear, insecurity, and propaganda techniques with more government as the solution.

This latest Chinese Flu outbreak.....wondering how many freedoms and liberties this will cost Americans before someone gets done with us and for how long??

And when this flu run s its course will they even give us back our freedoms and liberties.....sort of like those tolls on roads and bridges which never are removed.

The insult to me is that while all this propaganda is working it's magic on an unthinking and overly emotional people...the phony conservative Republicans are silent.

Let me clarify my last post. You are defending the 2nd Amendment folks on moral grounds, since (a) they are defending a fundamental right; and (b) the anti-2nd Amendment people want to constrain (or at least attenuate) those same rights. I have no argument there; I agree with your views about the inherent morality of the 2nd Amendment and its freedoms completely.

But you miss my point.

You can be wrong about a belief (like the anti-gunners are) and use triggering words to propagandize and convince people your views are correct and right. But that's what we do as well. They frame the debate in terms of safety, using triggering words like "school shooting", "kids being killed", "high-powered rifles" (like the "high-powered"AR-15 we use to kill elephants LOL); "assault weapons" (you know, like a 10-22); and so on.

But we do the same thing. We frame the debate in terms of Constitutionality, and our triggering words are "Constitutional rights" "defending our home and family", "hunting as an American heritage", "pry from my cold dead hands", and so on.

Each side sincerely believes its belief is the right one, and I think that if we don't recognize that fact and continue to treat anti-Second Amendment people as some evil enemy instead of fellow citizens whose views are simply wrong, then we will probably lose the debate over the next decade or so.

My plan, which I have used somewhat successfully in the past couple of years, is to ask one of my anti-Second Amendment friends to go shooting with me. I read this approach in a magazine some time back and I followed it by taking him out with me with a Ruger 10-22 and a .22LR revolver, talking about gun safety for a couple of minutes, then letting him blast away with a box or two of .22s. I also showed him some of my other firearms, including a 9mm auto-loading pistol, a 12-ga shotgun, an AR-15, and even Big Bertha, my .30-'06 bolt-gun, and said he could shoot whichever one he wanted to.

In four out of five attempts, my friend had a great time, realized that I wasn't wearing an Adolf Hitler t-shirt or a KKK hood, and seemed like a nice guy. Better yet, he began to think that -- just maybe -- having guns is not necessarily a horrible thing.

Let's face it: whooping and hollering about the commie bastards and preaching to the choir isn't going to change any minds...

... and minds are what we need to change.

I do not use the points you describe here with the exception of Constitutional rights.

A Constitutional Right is something granted by the Creator....not by government. This is the normal starting point..from our Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

Everything else is .....Confusion.....deliberate confusion....propaganda.

2A says nothing about hunting or cold dead hands or gun safety.

And I know the name of the Author of Confusion ...by name.......do you???

And there are members here who know of what I speak..by author of confusion.

By the way Duncan and other members.

That is precisely what I do...not particularly with anti gunners...but I do take people with me to our gun club as a guest and let them shoot my guns.

I greatly dislike the left's often over used and stereotyping of people as Hitler, KKK or other labels to sway the weak minded emotional television educated Americans who cannot measure much outside of a movie television framework....in fear and insecurity.

I have seen way too much labeling of people as Hitler in maneuvering and manipulating the American public to stop thinking for themselves and jump on the bandwagon as needed for political capital. I don't like it.

I know now that when the word "Hitler " is used/misused..I am supposed to stop thinking for myself and obey....like a mindless automaton. After all....they used Hitler....subject closed!!!

Our ersatz leadership and media too often use/misuse the label Hitler to suit me and thus manipulate Americans.

I also teach that concept to anyone who will listen.

Todays watch word is "Extremist and White Supremist"...to augment the word "Hitler."

I know when I hear those words from leadership..I am being scammed and lead to join the herd....I am supposed to stop thinking for myself...after all they used these watch words..these labels. What more can be said....we are now helpless.....
