This lonewolf...is pretty much textbook today ...television and or movie education.


There is something very very insidious about todays "Experts" in education and or brainwashing...something missing from most of our educations...our thinking processes. Something very key and important to our liberties...freedoms...in every aspect.

And this relates to Socialism/Communism/Ca;pitalism...or even what I am often want to call... "Herding."

Concerning Liberty and or Freedom.

And that is.....Central Government....Be Warned...for this is true in any social structure.


People make thousands of decisions every day ....thousands....in their daily lives....to reach their daily goals.

There is no possible way a central government can standardize human behavior without a social structure faltering and or collapsing..this means an economic structure.

This is the very reason so many Communist economies are faltering..stagnant...socially stagnant....on the individual level.

Peoples liberties and freedoms are heavily controlled...regulated...run by an government expert.

And as we here in America go down this route to more and more central government control...so too will our economy/social structure...suffer ...and become stagnant.

Our system is already becoming stagnant...because of this very thing....if for no other reason than heavy government control by manufacturing inflation...which means more government...not less..

I need not a PHD degree to figure this out.



More government control by any method means more stagnation in social and economic affluence.

The only Communist governments who have progressed economically are those with heavy influence and or technology transfers from the west..

Left to their own they would stagnate.

This is a thinking pattern left totally outside of our thinking abilities..by design..as we here in America sink slowly into Communism and heavy central government control....and we are constantly occupied by distractions like ESPN and or the Kardashians...et al.

And like Communism ..our current government constantly plays the blame game rather than solve problems they have created.

One of the biggest scams a communist government tries to do is such as putting everyone in electric vehicles...rather than letting the marketplace decide.

This is a clear violation of free market economic decisions...unto central government planning...ie...Communism.

Government should never be the decider of a nations economy ...but the people ..the marketplace...otherwise you have economic stagnation.....which is where we in America are going...by design.
Otherwise...you have a lack of free market economics and also with this lack goes our freedoms and liberties..ie..."Herding."

I do not need a PHD to figure this one out.


Things/Dogmas like Critical Race Theory ...are the Communist blame game.....

Rampant Rabid runaway sex and sexuality of all kinds being taught to our children in public schools is also a template and or pattern of Communism...rather than nurturing real useful thinking abilities..real education.

What they are doing with such rampant rabid runaway sex and sexuality is stealing the very childhood from our children and bringing them into adulthood before their time. And this too...like Communism is very very subversive..destructive...particularly on our children/grandchildren..

Communism is the end result of capitalism that has gone out of control. When the working class works hard and ends up very little ahead of those that don't work at all communism is inevitable. When ALL of the wealth ends up in the hands of the wealthy the real workers are eventually going to turn their thoughts to leveling out things and dividing wealth more fairly.

So far the US and most of the Western European nations have managed to mostly do this fairly well. Poor people that are that way because of laziness or stupidity are not a problem. The issue is when people with the intelligence and desire to work can't manage to make enough to exceed the poverty level by any real extent while at the same time the rich get richer the clock starts ticking.

 

Here's a socialist idea of mine.

I'd pay men to get vasectomies and pay women to get there Fallopian tubes tied. Too, there should be a whole lot more genetic counseling.

In India, decades back, the government would set up tents in rural areas and men could get free vasectomies there (I can't remember if they got paid for this; I'm just assuming, but I believe they did).

After we had the kids we could afford, my wife got her tubes tied (C-section, so while they were in there ...).

Concerning the vulgar accumulation of wealth: Oft times this is the result of the formation of monopolies -- these should be broken-up with the anti-trust laws already on the books. It is morally wrong to build palaces when there are poor people undeserving of being poor. Ostentatious behavior should be shamed. There will always be differences in wealth even as there are differences in intelligence and work values; however, vulgar wealth in the very presence of the starving should not be tolerated by the masses. Education is not just making youth smart, it is also making them moral agents.

I don't know what a conquering nation might do in the future but do know what they have done as for back in history as can be found . They casterated the men of the losing side and enslaved the women , mainly as sex slaves . Yes if forces such as China ground troops , Russian troops or a military from an Islamic country should swarm in , in the aftermath of a Nuclear assault my group have our airplane for evacuation .--- I don't know if anyone watched the video that I posted on the World War 3 thread but it goes into the possibility of a helpless nation in the aftermath of a Nuclear attack being swarmed like vultures on a carcass . -- On a more personal note , I actually had a good friend get pinned beneath a 4 wheeler with no one to find him for days " except the buzzards " .From experience know the first two things buzzards go for are the eye balls and the groin area . Needles to explain it was a closed casket funeral . --- One other thing on communist aggression . In the video I just mentioned , unless you watched it , probably did not know the United States policy is at this point in time is to absorb the nuclear explosions and then retaliate . I don't know about other areas, but Heartland America is armed to the teeth.

Guys in the National Guard get enormous pallets of arms and ammunition. When training, they are supposed to shoot all that up. Don't know about other regions of the country, but in the SouthEast, guys bring a whole bunch of fun stuff home with them. I'd not want to invade this area. Military and police around here are more conservative than am I -- that's saying something. If the Fed went away tomorrow, we'd keep on keeping on. Our nukes and air force bases are based in the Heartland and the troops manning these things run conservative in values.

If things go royally sideways here in the States, we'll see a military takeover. Several nations in Europe will do the same. Greece and Spain will, just like they'll done heaven only knows how many times before.

Meanwhile, China is struggling to get-up enough troop transport ships to invade little Taiwan. This is why they scream so much at the West.

No thanks!!! What ou;d happen is that those that we need the most would be the most likly to do this while those that we need a LOT fewer of would breed like rats and in the end we would fall into the pit!!!

I would pay those on welfare to have their reproductive ability fixed and then on the other end would pay people that work in skilled and jobs that require knowledge to have more kids. Right now the upper middle class or working people are not actually replacing themselves. Their reproductive rate when reduced by accidents, war, decide not to have kids for various reasons has made us a shrinking part of the population.

If we will just keep paying the lazy and stupid to have as many kids as possible and then importing more and more uneducated people that don't speak english we will eventually collapse under the weight of mass stupidity.

 

The people that we NEED more of are not reproducing at a level that will maintain that level while those that we don't need at ALL are breeding like RATS and about as useless. It is insanity to pay people that can't support themselves or their hoard of useless kids to constantly have MORE and MORE. If you are on welfare you need to be on birth control. We need to give it to them. If you can't remember to take it then mandatory sterilization need to be the next step.

Honestly Lonewolf I expected things to collapse before now. The government is printing money to pay their bills now. A dollar bill is no longer backed by anything except the belief that others will take it in exchange for goods. Understand, if you are worried about your food supply no amount of money will buy from you what you do have. I had things that I consider trade goods. they will have value when cash is valueless.

Most people will be useless after the fall. They have no real skills and no useful talents in a world without power. Once the last of the canned food is gone and the frozen food has rotted most people in the big cities will be dead people walking. The riots and fires are going to wipe out most of them and then there will be the ones that try to flood out into the rural areas and demand to be fed. That will be a second massive killing.

I will lock my gate and put up a bell and a sign. It will say, Ring the bell and wait. If I want to talk to you I’ll come down here. If you trespass I will kill you!!! If they ignore the sign and climb over the gate I will kill them. No warning and no mercy. The sign will warn them and that is all that I feel that I owe them. I am still working on a plan to handle the bodies. I’m not going to put a lot of effort into getting rid of their body. If I have gas I will haul it to the dump.

 

It almost seem that real cooking is a lost art on young people these days. They live on fast food take out or pop it in the microwave frozen foods. Along with it not being all that good nutritionally it is expensive. When times were hard cooking saved us a lot of money. Eating out should be a treat not a way of life.

One thing on the positive side is that students get jobs out in the real world and eventually grow up. Universities are not real world environments. Many academics have always existed in an academic environment, thus the term "ivory tower".

One often sees celebrity and wealthy individuals having zero tolerance of conservative ideas. This is because somebody has always provided for them -- even when their older generation supporters die, they inherit enough to go on with their lifestyle. It is sometimes seen among unionized workers and even the military. Why? Because they have always been part of a machine. Being part of The Machine is another form of bubble environment. Having to kowtow to stacks of rules is just fine with them; it is all that they have known. It is difficult for people who love Liberty to understand how some people feel security in being caged. If someone is healthy you should offer them work. If they refuse to work you need to allow them to starve to DEATH and make theft by these people a death penalty crime. Having kids when you are unable to even support yourself is a simple fix, castration works every time. We need to stop encouraging people to be worthless and rewarding that sort of behavior.

I was selfemploied for about 20 years. I fixed things like washers, dryers Refrigrators, freezers and ACs both residential and comertial. It was a good living but as y'all said it ne er made me rich either. On a good week I worked about 20 hours but at fifty dollars for an hours work it worked pretty well. I live in a small town and worked in about 10 small towns scattered over a three county area. It wasn't odd for me to cover a hundred miles of travel in any given day. If you added up the population of all the little towns and the rural people surounding them you wouldn't have a hundred thousand people if you didn't count the college kids.

In this area I was sort of odd in that I never worked directly for the state. I did fix some stuff for the state but they were my customers and not my employer. My wife retired from the state and my daughter is working for them. Fair money, great benefits and retirment and no layoffs. My dsughter will be able to retire young and then work for someone else drawing two paychecks. That is pretty common here.

 

Super post-SHTF training. Not having much money, all the men in my family were Mr. Fixit, like it or not. In my family and my wife's the women were dynamite seamstresses. My wife made our sons' 3-piece suits.

DANM and I just do it for free for folks!!! I have always been sort of amazed by people not being able to sharpen a knife. I've been doing it since I was about 7. I worked with a guy and he could just about ruin a good brand knife trying to sharpen it.

I sort of collect knives and sharpening stones. I have several of the old time razor hones that are almost as smooth as glass but you can take a sharp knife to a true razor edge with it. I probably have about 50 stones. You find them at flea markets these days for almost nothing. I think that when old folks die and their kids clean out the house they don't have a clue what those rocks are for. They are part of the serated generation and don't ever sharpen a knife.

 

My knife sharpening skills are mediocre. The only time I've put a near-razor edge on a knife was on a knife from Spain. This knife has great metallurgy. I lucked up on the deal and was surprised when the blade took such a wonderful edge, so I looked up the name of the manufacturer (Muela) and found that the pocket knife I got in a pawn shop for $15 was worth $95. The pocket knife had been very poorly maintained.

It seems at work...many people can borrow and abuse your knife but none can sharpen one....

I do not bring my good knives to work.....no way that is going to happen.


Over the years I have taught myself to sharpen scissors after a little practice/learning session and also drill bits up to about 3/4 inch diameter.


But Circular Saw blades...that is a bit out of my league...


But it is definitely a skill that comes in handy and will pay dividends....and you are again correct....few to no one wants to do it.....but they can quickly dull a tool right up.


I have purchased several sharpening stones....of different grits and even have some diamond hones.

Also have received new 60 and 80 grit wheels to replace my olde ones on my bench grinder......buffiing wheels too for jewelers' rouge...

Never skimp on your blades whether they're for the kitchen or for skinning a clean kill outdoors, its a false economy...and learn how to keep an edge, its not rocket science.

 

The thing about sharpening a knife is that there are two things that you need to know and considder. A knife that will easily sharpen to a razor edge is made of a softer less brittle steel. It isn't going to tolerate a bunch of hard use without losing its edge.

Trying to put a razor edge on a tough knife is frustrating. About the time tha you are nearly there the edge starts to chip. I have an old buck knife that is like that. If you sharpen it so that it is sharp but not at all "razor" sharp it is TOUGH and will do a great job of cutting things. The steel it is made of is just too hard and brittle for a real fine edge. That said if it is sharpened right you can almost cut a nail in two by hitting it with a hammer and using it like a chissel.

I used to make a lot of knives. I made them out of old files that I first sofened and then after shaping and rough sharpening them I would put my own heat treat on them. I would bring them up to cherry red, allow them to then cool until the red starts to dull and fade, and then quench them in thin oil. When done right they will ring almost like a bell and bend slightly and then spring back. You want them to do this before they snap. I want them to be tough but not too hard. On some knives I only do an edge quench. This will give you a very hard edge with a softer springy spine. That is what I usually did to something that I was going to use as a chopper.

I worked in a shipyard machine shop. It had about every machine tool there was that was manual control. We were not a production shop. We built offshore rigs from start to finish and had a drydock for ship repair. We had a lathe that was about a hundred feet long. That was for turnng the bearings on the ships shaft. That shop was huge and had train tracks for bringing in big things like rudders and the yokes for the jackup rigs.

I miss that place. When the Democrats gained power in the Carter era they shut down the American oil industry and The ship yard closed because they had become financially dependent on make ioff shore drilling rigs. Thanks to Carter 3500 men lost their jobs and livlyhood. I guess the American companies didn't have the cash to compete with the Arabs bribes. After Carter everyplace that I had worked with one exception that made fire hydrants had closed and never reopened.

 

I'm with you TMT&T. There is something sort of zin and relaxing about sharpening a good knife. It can be a little like raising the dead. What some people do to a knife trying to sharpen it is criminal! Differet knives need a different sort of edge. Some steels just are not made to put that fine of an edge on. If they chip instead of deflect on the edge you need a much steeper angle on the edge grind and that isn't great for a razor edge. My Buck 110 is like that. It is tough as nails when sharpened right but too fine of and edge chips and is nearly useless. I prefer the steel on the older Schrade knives. It isn't stainless and will take and hold a great edge. I'm not a big fan of stainless steel skinners. Stainless makes a great fishing knife and works fine for cleaning fish but when I hunt I use a carbon steel knife with a good sharp edge but not quite a razor edge. If they weren't so big the old WW2 era K-bars knives were some of the best knife steel you can find. For skinning I prefer a knife with about a 4" to 4 1/2" blade of high carbon steel NOT stainless.

 

I like carbon steel blades, easy to put a razor sharp edge on but may blunt/chip more easily. Stainless steel holds its edge but takes more work to maintain the cut quality so take your pick.

Personal choice/carry for mountain/bushcraft trips are typically an Opinel and a Mora together with a cheap and simple to use Blade Tech sharpener.

Communism starts off with the people getting fed up with corruption. The government then gets more and more centralized to be able to attempt to control the massive programs that keep popping up to "help the people". And for a time this works -- universal this, universal that. Hurray!

As the government centralizes, bad actors see opportunities for power. The most vicious carnivores rise to the top. Paranoia sets in and "enemies of the state" start disappearing. The military budget goes higher and higher as a percentage of the total government budget. The people not only can vote, they are now required to vote ... for "approved" candidates. The curriculum of schools becomes controlled by the central government and only correct thinking is permitted. Liberty is no longer mentioned. The sheeple are allowed to say, "We are protected." Complain and you end up in prison or a psych ward.

This is solidly happening in Amerika right now. "Good ol' boy" capitalism is NOT capitalism. The government is demanding censorship of "incorrect" thinking. A rich guy buys a social media outlet and dares to stop censorship, BOOM, the Left goes howling mad. Even European god government officials say they will ban the outlet. The Left, "If we think it's wrong, then you are a NAZI." Ironic that NAZI rule was the pinnacle of centralized government. If one went back in history and interviewed Stalin, he would tell you that his communist government was working for the people.

You know, in the end we don't come off a lot better. I don't remember the last time that I actually voted FOR someone in a national election. It usually is more or less I vote for the lesser of two evils.

Why do we not see any decent tools..or even knives..fixed or folding coming from communist countries.???

How about Groceries....tooth paste.....how about laptops, desk tops...


How about the tools to sharpen knives. How about drill bits??? Boring bits for wood ???


A plethora of tools for every day or even machine use.

How about electric drills??? Cooking utensils....home or professional???

How about cars???? I've seen one Russian Car in my life and it belonged to the Russian Embassy in Reykjavik, Iceland.

How about a deck of playing cards????

All I have to do is look at any store and from whence the products are made...and from whence they got the technology to make these products.
