I actually wan't to post some music videos from my locality. However I strongly doubt anyone here would enjoy any song in an extinct language (according to some western academia) not to mention nearly indecipherable to be interpret correctly without actually spending time (at least 2 years) living here.

I loved Motown. This is one of my all time favorites.

    https://www.bing.com/search?q=ain't...&sc=8-9&cvid=758cfc7ae7304cd2fba1716472114231

There is a fantastic documentary called Standing in the Shadow of Motown; a documentary about the session musicians that played on Motown records, and never got the credit they were due.

    Post Modern Jukebox Version of....
    All About That Bass

    Lyrics:

    Because you know
    I'm all about that bass
    'Bout that bass, no treble
    I'm all about that bass
    'Bout that bass, no treble
    I'm all about that bass
    'Bout that bass, no treble
    I'm all about that bass
    'Bout that bass

Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two
But I can shake it, shake it
    Like I'm supposed to do
'Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase
And all the right junk in all the right places

I see the magazine workin' that Photoshop
We know that shit ain't real
    C'mon now, make it stop
If you got beauty, beauty, just raise 'em up
'Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top

Yeah, my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night."
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along

    Because you know I'm
    All about that bass
    'Bout that bass, no treble
    I'm all about that bass
    'Bout that bass, no treble
    I'm all about that bass
    'Bout that bass, no treble
    I'm all about that bass
    'Bout that bass
    Hey!

    I'm bringing booty back
Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches that
No, I'm just playing. I know you think you're fat
But I'm here to tell ya
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top

Yeah my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night."
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along

    Lyrics

While I'm far away from you, my baby
I know it's hard for you, my baby
Because it's hard for me, my baby
And the darkest hour is just before dawn
Each night before you go to bed, my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me, my baby
And tell all the stars above
This is dedicated to the one I love

    Life can never be
Exactly like we want it to be
    But I can be satisfied
    Just knowing you love me

There's one thing I want you to do
    Especially for me
And it's something that everybody needs

Each night before you go to bed, my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me, my baby
And tell all the stars above

This is dedicated to the one I love
This is dedicated to the one I love
This is dedicated to the one I love

One of my all time favorites:

If I could make a wish
    I think I'd pass
Can't think of anythin I need
No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound
Nothing to eat, no books to read

    Making love with you
Has left me peaceful, warm, and tired
    What more could I ask
There's nothing left to be desired
Peace came upon me and it leaves me weak

    So sleep, silent angel
    Go to sleep

Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
    And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
    Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe

    Peace came upon me
    And it leaves me weak
    So sleep, silent angel
    Go to sleep

Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
    And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
    Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe

Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
    And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
    Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
    And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
    Yes to love you

    The road is long
    With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where?
    Who knows where?
    But I'm strong
    Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

    So on we go
    His welfare is my concern
No burden is he to bear
    We'll get there
    For I know
    He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

    If I'm laden at all
    I'm laden with sadness
    That everyone's heart
    Isn't filled with the gladness
    Of love for one another

    It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
    Why not share?
    And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

    He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

You and I travel to the beat of a diff'rent drum
Oh, can't you tell by the way I run
Every time you make eyes at me Wo oh
You cry and you moan and say it will work out
But honey child I've got my doubts
You can't see the forest for the trees

So, don't get me wrong it's not that I'm knockin'
It's just that I'm not in the market
For a boy who wants to love only me
Yes, and I ain't sayin' you ain't pretty
All I'm sayin's I'm not ready for any person
Place or thing to try and pull the reins in on me
    So Goodbye, I'll be leavin'
I see no sense in the cryin' and grievin'
We'll both live a lot longer if you live without me

Oh, don't get me wrong it's not that I'm knockin'
It's just that I'm not in the market
For a boy who wants to love only me

    Blue Bayou

    Linda Ronstadt
I feel so bad I got a worried mind
I'm so lonesome all the time
Since I left my baby behind
    On Blue Bayou

    Saving nickles, saving dimes
Working til the sun don't shine
    Looking forward to happier times
    On Blue Bayou

    I'm going back someday
    Come what may
    To Blue Bayou
    Where the folks are fun
    And the world is mine
    On Blue Bayou
    Where those fishing boats
    With their sails afloat
    If I could only see
    That familiar sunrise
    Through sleepy eyes
    How happy I'd be

    Gonna see my baby again
Gonna be with some of my friends
    Maybe I'll feel better again
    On Blue Bayou

    Saving nickles saving dimes
Working til the sun don't shine
    Looking forward to happier times
    On Blue Bayou

    I'm going back someday
    Come what may
    To Blue Bayou
    Where the folks are fun
    And the world is mine
    On Blue Bayou
    Where those fishing boats
    With their sails afloat
    If I could only see
    That familiar sunrise
    Through sleepy eyes
    How happy I'd be

    Oh that boy of mine
    By my side
    The silver moon
    And the evening tide
    Oh some sweet day
    Gonna take away
    This hurting inside
    Well I'll never be blue
    My dreams come true
    On Blue Bayou

Barefoot Linda Ronstadt. TMT, did you know she is a Tucson girl? Her family has lived there since it was a walled city. Ronstadt Hardware is probably one of the oldest businesses in Arizona. She did quite well for herself. I could take you to the bar where she first started to sing.

It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
Smiling faces I can see, but not for me
I sit and watch as tears go by
    My riches can't buy everything
I want to hear the children sing
All I ever hear is the sound
of rain falling on the ground
I sit and watch as tears go by

It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
Doin' things I used to do, they think they are new
I sit and watch as tears go by

    Appreciate info, Snyper. Merci.

Age relates to vintage wines: the best, conceding I'm partial to Night Train Express.

My favorite non-vocalist isn't much younger than Toni T. I have a special type of affection for Loretta Swit (orig from New Jersey) and a/k/a Major Margaret H.L. Houlahan, RN, NC, 4077th M*A*S*H, APO San Francisco 12345.

To the best of my knowledge both Toni Tenille and Vicki Carr are still performing. I saw Toni Tenille a few years ago. When she was touring on her own she did torch songs, and a lot of Big Band stuff. They are both close to 80 years old.

    The White Stripes
    Seven Nation Army

    About “Seven Nation Army”
Jack White uses an effects pedal to make his guitar sound like a bass and howls about a rage so intense, he could take on an army all by himself. Result: the greatest riff of the decade and a massive, career-changing hit that every college marching band in the nation plays to this day.

    • What have the artists said about the song?
Jack White told Rolling Stone that the riff was composed while they were soundchecking before a show at the corner hotel in Melbourne. He said “There’s an employee here at Third Man named Ben Swank, and he was with us on tour in Australia when I wrote that song at soundcheck. I was playing it for Meg and he was walking by and I said, ‘Swank, check this riff out.’ And he said, ‘It’s OK.’ [Laughs] He added: "I didn’t have lyrics for it until later on and I was just calling it ‘Seven Nation Army’ – that’s what I called the Salvation Army when I was a kid. So that was just a way for me to remember which one I was talking about, but it took on a new meaning with the lyrics.”

    [Verse 1]
    I'm gonna fight 'em off
A seven nation army couldn't hold me back
    They're gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back

And I'm talking to myself at night
    Because I can't forget

Back and forth through my mind
    Behind a cigarette

    [Pre-Chorus 1]
And the message coming from my eyes
    Says "Leave it alone"

    [Instrumental Chorus]

    [Verse 2]
Don't want to hear about it
Every single one's got a story to tel
    l
    Everyone knows about it
From the Queen of England to the Hounds of Hell

And if I catch it coming back my way
I'm gonna serve it to you
And that ain't what you want to hear
    But that's what I'll do

    [Pre-Chorus 2]
And the feeling coming from my bones
    Says "Find a home"

    [Instrumental Chorus]

    [Guitar Solo]

    [Verse 3]
    I'm going to Wichita
    Far from this opera forevermore
    I'm gonna work the straw

Make the sweat drip out of every pore
And I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding
    Right before the Lord
All the words are gonna bleed from me
And I will think no more

    [Pre-Chorus 3]
And the stains coming from my blood
    Tell me "Go back home"

    [Instrumental Chorus]

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

I crashed my truck (2006 Toyota Tacoma)(The best damned truck I ever owned) on Dec 11 on my way to work at 2:30 AM. As I crossed a bridge on a very dark section of freshly paved blacktop on a moonless night I hit a 1400 lb black cow that stepped up from the embankment and entered the highway just past the end of the guardrail at right around 55 miles per hour. Angels were watching over me that night. It was the loudest bang I have ever heard followed by rushing wind and total vehicle silence. The hood was over the windshield and the brake pedal went to the floor three times as I tried to stab brakes. I could only hold still and hope that I didn't hit anything else. Then i felt the truck leaving the pavement as it bounced slightly across the ground and rolled to a stop. As I started to get out only then did I realize that the steering wheel air bag had gone off. I got out and saw that I had rolled about 1/16th to 1/4 of a mile down the highway and went off the left side of the road after crossing the oncoming lane. I ended up missing two street signs and a telephone pole as well as an exposed natural gas line that the city police was kind enough to point out to me once he arrived on the scene. He also told me that if I had gone off the right side of the road I surely would have rolled the truck as it was a 20 foot drop off. My injuries....I bumped my right knee on the dashboard. It was sensitive for a day. As I said... Angels were with me that night. Maybe my father or my eldest brother or God himself was with me and guided me to safety.

Anyway... I now have a new to me truck (2015 Toyota Tacoma, last year they made the same engine) and the reason this is posted here is that it has a newer stereo and I have been playing my mp3s on it. The grand baby was with me the other day in the new truck so I have awoken her to the classic sounds of The Beatles. She has been singing Eleanor Rigby for the last 3 days and we both have been playing a lot of the Beatles. So... I am going to share some of my favorites here.

    First... Her new favorite..Eleanor Rigby.

    Plastic Jesus

    Lyrics:

Well, I don't care if it rains or freezes,
Long as I have my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
    Through all trials and tribulations,
    We will travel every nation,
With my plastic Jesus I'll go far.

    CHORUS
    Plastic Jesus, plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
    Through my trials and tribulations,
And my travels thru the nations,
With my plastic Jesus I'll go far.

I don't care if it rains or freezes
As long as I've got my Plastic Jesus
Glued to the dashboard of my car,
    You can buy Him phosphorescent
Glows in the dark, He's Pink and Pleasant,
Take Him with you when you're travelling far

I don't care if it's dark or scary
Long as I have magnetic Mary
Ridin' on the dashboard of my car
    I feel I'm protected amply
I've got the whole damn Holy Family
Riding on the dashboard of my car

You can buy a Sweet Madonna
Dressed in rhinestones sitting on a
    Pedestal of abalone shell
    Goin' ninety, I'm not wary
'Cause I've got my Virgin Mary
Guaranteeing I won't go to Hell

I don't care if it bumps or jostles
Long as I got the Twelve Apostles
Bolted to the dashboard of my car
    Don't I have a pious mess
    Such a crowd of holiness
Strung across the dashboard of my car

    ALT CHORUS
No, I don't care if it rains or freezes
Long as I have my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
But I think he'll have to go
    His magnet ruins my radio
And if we have a wreck he'll leave a scar

    Riding through the thoroughfare
With his nose up in the air
A wreck may be ahead, but he don't mind
    Trouble coming, he don't see
He just keeps his eyes on me
And any other thing that lies behind

    ALT CHORUS
    Plastic Jesus, Plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Though the sun shines on his back
Makes him peel, chip, and crack
A little patching keeps him up to par

    When pedestrians try to cross
I let them know who's boss
I never blow my horn or give them warning
    I ride all over town
    Trying to run them down
And it's seldom that they live to see the morning

    ALT CHORUS
    Plastic Jesus, Plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
    His halo fits just right
And I use it as a sight
And they'll scatter or they'll splatter near and far

When I'm in a traffic jam
He don't care if I say Damn
I can let all sorts of curses roll
    Plastic Jesus doesn't hear
For he has a plastic ear
The man who invented plastic saved my soul

    ALT CHORUS
    Plastic Jesus, Plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Once his robe was snowy white
Now it isn't quite so bright
Stained by the smoke of my cigar

God made Christ a Holy Jew
God made Him a Christian too
    Paradoxes populate my car
Joseph beams with a feigned elan
From the shaggy dash of my furlined van
Famous cuckold in the master plan

    Naughty Mary, smug and smiling
    Jesus dainty and beguiling
Knee-deep in the piling of my van
His message clear by night or day
    My phosphorescent plastic Gay
Simpering from the dashboard of my van

    When I'm goin' fornicatin
    I got my ceramic Satan
Sinnin' on the dashboard of my Winnebago Motor Home
The women know I'm on the level
Thanks to the wild-eyed stoneware devil
Ridin' on the dashboard of my Winnebago Motor Home
Sneerin' from the dashboard of my Winnebago Motor Home
Leering from the dashboard of my van

If I weave around at night
And the police think I'm tight
They'll never find my bottle, though they ask
    Plastic Jesus shelters me
For His head comes off, you see
He's hollow, and I use Him for a flask

    ALT CHORUS
    Plastic Jesus, plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Ride with me and have a dram
Of the blood of the Lamb
Plastic Jesus is a holy bar

There is nothin that is cuter
    than a smilin Jolly Buddha,
Ridin on the dashboard of my car,
I don't have no idol cuter,
comes in plastic, bronze and pewter,
Take him with me when I go afar.

    Jolly Buddha, fat and squattin,
on a pad of aspirin cotton,
He's with me wherever I may roam,
When it's late and I start to hurry,
I know he ain't gonna worry,
He looks at me and all he says is, "Oooommmmmmm."

There is nothing that is gaucher
Than eatin food that isn't kosher,
Right in front of my smilin Moses' face,
    I'm afraid that he'll awaken
When I'm eatin ham or bacon,
And throw them Ten Commandments in my face.

I don't care if I'm broke or starvin'
As long as I've got a fish named Darwin
Glued to the trunklid of my car
    God, I'm feeling so evolved
    Drivin' with my problems solved
Proclaiming what I think of what we are

    Riding home one foggy night,
    With my honey cuddled tight,
I missed a curve and off the road we veered.
    My windshield got smashed-up good,
And my darling graced the hood.
    Plastic Jesus, He had disappeared.

    cho: Plastic Jesus! Plastic Jesus,
No longer chides me with His holy grin.
    Doctors in the X-ray room
Found Him in my darling's womb.
    Someday, He'll be born again!

I don't care if it rains or freezes
Long as I got my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
He's the dude with the rusty nails,
Walks on water, don't need no sails
Riding on the dashboard of me car

I don't care if the night is scary
As long as I got the Virgin Mary
Sittin' on the dashboard of my car.
She don't slip and she don't slide
    Cuz her butt is magnetized
Sittin' on the dashboard of my car.

    Now I'm feeling quite contrary,
cos I got the Virgin Mary
Sitting on the dashboard of my car
    There's no room for imperfection,
    in my Catholic collection
Which sits upon the dashboard of my car

    Jesus, Mary and St. Patrick,
now I've got the holy hat-trick
Sitting on the dashboard of my car
One more statue I've got to get
    is the plastic Bernadette
Sitting on the dashboard of my car

Plastic Jesus, you've got to go,
    your magnet's burst my radio
Sitting on the dashboard of my car
But I, won't lose faith and I won't lose hope
cos, now I've got a pope on a rope
Swinging from the dashboard of my car

Once as I drove to Knock,
at a petrol station I got a shock
at the special offers that they had for me
20 more points and I can barter for a Jesus with stigmata
to sit upon the dashboard of my car
