Hello all. My name is Dave but use Xcalibr8 online for decades now. Im a amateur radio (ham) operator, general class, over 20 years exp, also alternative energy hobbyist, mostly solar, survival interests, 2nd amendment advocate, patriot, love talk radio, everything from Rush and Alex Jones to Art Bell (RIP). I also run a private forum for the 3% UPVA. Came here to get some ideas to improve my board but found you have a solid board going here so thought I would stay and absorb some good info and share my insights as well.

    Thanks
    Xcalibr8

    Welcome to the home base.
One of the things that I like most about this board is that I am constantly learning new things. Watchercris's 73 made me curious and that lead me to the "Phillips Code". I used to use the "10" code a lot on the CB but wasn't conversant on the other codes out there. This lead to an interesting research. 13

    Texdanm,

I am and have been a ham for many years now.

I remember the 10 codes and even some of the Q codes but never got that familiar with them...even now that I am a ham.

I do know that Q 5 is a way of saying ones signal is solid...

and 73 translates to "Best Regards."

I was saying to Dave....."a very best regards to you and your house."

Hams will often just simply state...."73" as they are signing off.

    Thanks,
    Watcherchris.
