Hurricane Section?

Hey there. What would you think of a Hurricane Preparedness section? I do quite a bit of business in the Gulf Coast and I can tell you hurricane preps are a BIG topic there. It is sort of scenario unto itself. So, what about a section devoted to said? If that is too narrow, maybe a "wicked weather" section that would cover hurricanes, twisters, blizzards, et al.

The hurricane is bothersome enough to have a dedicated section for itself. There is so much preparation that is necessary whenever there is the threat of a hurricane. Many of the measures to be considered are:
Evacuation of residents to safer ground
provision of shelter, food, and bedding supplies to be distributed to people who may be displaced by the hurricane
coordination of emergency response activities
Cleaning of drains and gullies
Shoring up of levees and areas that may need to be sandbagged
provision of warning systems
provision of emergency power supplies
Reinforcement of vulnerable structures
It's evident that the threat from a hurricane warrants a considerable amount of planning and coordination to prepare for its coming in order to minimize loss of lives or property.

 

Well, that is my reasoning for making the request. Some hurricane preps are pretty general. Others are very much specific to hurricanes, particularly in the area of shelter, protection immediately after the event, and the clean up and recovery from said.
