Social Darwinism is at work. All students are no longer acid head drunks. These students deployed to help out on the fires.

Much of the training and the membership affiliation for these programs is FREE. Besides the medic programs ... and some/most MRC chapters have large components of non-medics ... to load trailers to unload trailers to set up canopy tents, work radios ...... there are also wilderness SAR (Search and Rescue) clubs, debris field clearing orgs, etc, etc.
