Here is a primitive stone tool [hand ax] that I've found in a remote cave in Limpopo.

I subscribe to a couple of magazines about Archeology. I also am a bit of a rock hound and have done a little knapping. I know enough to understand that "primitive" stone age people were far from primitive in their ability to work with stone. They may have been technologically primitive but were brilliant in the areas that they worked in. A well-knapped knife is sharper than a scalpel and a hand ax is an amazingly effective tool and not just a pointy rock.

I don't know a thing about archeology, but that looks very interesting. Have you ever taken it to an expert, maybe a University, to have it analyzed?

Yes, it's the real thing and very -very old from the type of local hard rock found on the border of Mpumalanga . It seems the tip has maybe broken off some time in the mist of its history.
    Its not quartz.
They were very exited about it and I have donated it on the spot to a very appreciative person...
