    The article is written clear-enough so that now I can see some aspects to the overall devolution scheme.

    The one big missing piece from this - BBC - article really needs a footnote re Scotland and leaving the UK.

    It will not be pleasant nor only political if there's a pending unprotected sea route Murmansk, Russia to the western Atlantic because of a non-aligned Scotland.

    I'm remined of the US resupplying Israel during the Yom Kippur War. Resupply acft refuel at Lajes, Azores, Portugal. Lisbon initially stopped USAF use of this island airport due to their Arab market protection.

    Nixon told Kissinger to inform Lisbon that the Azore Islands would soon be a sovereign nation.

    USAF aircraft continued to refuel at Lajes, Azores Islands, Portugal.

    Please note that Scotland has NOT left the UK, nor are they leaving anytime soon, this is only a wish on the part of the SNP the nationalist ruling party of Scotland, they had a vote and most decided to stay within the UK, they were told this was a "once in a generation" vote= a "generation" is usually about 30 years.
