    Title explains solution.

    Pharaoh's pyramids were not built by leaders.

    Recommend ditch term "green revolution". It associates Jack's beanstalk with violence.

    Recommend ditch "shortlisted" The term is discriminatory.

    Recommend ditch word "twitter". Some birds hoot like owls.

    Recommend ditch "gold rush". "Haste makes waste."

    what a load of spineless snowflakes.
    they dropped the term "black board" in schools long ago, its now a "chalk" board.
    I'm not sure where this will end, we have bred a generation of fools who are easily offended.

    so has "blackface" or "blacking up" for Morris Dancing! it was CAMOUFLAGE so their employers wouldnt see them and it was usually soot they used.

    You're absolutely correct LW, but that did not stop some of the Morris Dancers at the Sweeps festival being abused for it last year. The confusion is that it is likely that "Morris" came from "Morrish" as in "Blackamoors" but that ain't why they blacked up.

    most if not all of the original morris dancers would be very fortunate if they had even seen a black person, i didnt see my first black person until the mid 60s. and that was an American sailor coming out of the dockyard.

    I imagine that Londoners would have seen Arab sailors from Morocco etc. There was much trade with North Africa during Elizabethan times (plus slave raiding on our South Western shores).
