Bugging Out. But What If?

    I have read many posts about bug-out vehicles, many people are proud of their bug-out vehicles, & rightly so because many are customised. I picture these vehicles loaded with everything you are likely to need in a long term wilderness living situation, & probably a lot of gear that is not essential. But what if they have to ditch their vehicle? If the vehicle breaks down or you simply can't get through on road or off road, what then? Do you have packs you can grab & continue on foot?

    If you do get to the wilderness area you are looking for, are you prepared to leave a vehicle trail leading all the way to your bug-out site?

    I maintain four levels of "Stuff", personal that is always on me, packs light and heavy, vehicle and bulk as per trailer.
    I can first ditch the trailer and loose only bulk stuff if not already consumed!
    I can ditch the vehicle and loose only luxuries.
    I can ditch the pack if I really need to
    If I ditch the belt I am naked!
    A single vehicle going bush leaves little evidence if done properly!
    Even ten vehicles can leave little trace if done properly!
