Cope: An Emergency Prep Program

    Good morning all,

    Per titles.

    Actually, COPE resembles a rehab of older Civil Defense / fire brigade programs.

    Note significance of need for list of area locals who have chain saws. Not from article, but I've been asked who in neighborhood has 4 wheel drive vehicles, who has horse trailers.

    Note mention of COPE leader collecting info on neighbors ... NOT a list of Harper Valley PTA secret paramours / girlfriends but rather emergency equipment and related eg "duel-use" stuff.

    I like "preparing to evacuate".

    ......

    Besides COPE programs, is it not neglectful for citizenry to live in an area with inadequate fire and rescue services ? Isn't this worth thinking about ?!
