Coronavirus Updates And What Not To Believe

The Coronavirus is driving the US into a mass panic. I couldn't find the original post about it so I just started a new one.

First off...

Just a few things you need to know. The media is doing everything it can to panic people. The deaths in the US, they are nearly all in Washington State. What they don't tell you except in sort of a back page story is that nearly all of those deaths are in one single nursing home where it was spread before anyone knew about it. The survival rate of people in nursing homes is going to be very low because of their preexisting morbidities. Some of the numbers at times are not what it seems nor exactly what the media presents. I noted tHAT Texas suddenly took a big jump in the numbers of infected cases in the state. The first article that I read talked about how rapidly it can spread. I did some serious digging. You know that Cruise ship in San Francisco that they recently allowed to let the passengers off of but they were then put in quarantine on Military bases? Well some of them have been shipped to Texas and THAT was the cause of the sudden rise in numbers NOT that it was rapidly spreading.

How much panic and insane fear-mongering do you remember about the 2017-2018 flu season...It killed 56,000 Americans. How about the "pandemic" in 2009? It killed 285,000. The 1968 pandemic killed a million+. None of this is new. What is new is an insane panic that is being fomented onto the American people. This regular flu season alone has killed 15,000 with very little notice other than by old people like me that have to avoid it and get the shots. For sure there hasn't been a bunch of articles about quarantining people or us needing to shut down everything and hide. People are beginning to believe that they need to prepare for an end of the world situation. The panic is getting serious and panic is NEVER a good plan for how to deal with problems...

I just read that the NBA has canceled the rest of their season. People are freaking out all over the place and the Liberal are laughing their ass off in glee. I am seriously beginning to worry that our stupidity as a people is finally going to end our rather silly experiment with mob rule called democracy. I'm sorry but the idea that a hundred idiots know more than 5 geniuses is insane. We have made our government and constitution all about rights without any responsibilities. Freedom of speech does not mean that you can yell FIRE! in a crowded theater. Freedom of the press should require truth and balance and not be allowed to be a propaganda program for a political party or philosophy. Our leadership is no longer responsive to the true needs of the people.

This madness that they are spreading called a pandemic is at this time not greatly any worse than a mild normal flu season. What we need to prepare for is the coming panic that seems to be what they are trying to cause. I will promise you that when the poor in the massive urban ghettos store shelves start to go bare they are going to riot and the cities will start to burn. There is every possibility that martial law will have to be declared to save anything.

When it is all said and done the needless panic that the liberals and the liberal media have caused will be blamed on Trump. the Democrats are perfectly willing to destroy our nation in their desire to gain power so that they can finally grab all power and FORCE a communist/ socialist government on us that will start with disarming us and taking control of all industry.

We need to prepare; not to survive the coronavirus but the insanity that a government coup is going to cause.

 

I'm pretty sure the type of relativization of the pandemic you're suggestion is what would allow your situation to maybe get out of hand later.
Italy did not act swiftly enough, and morality rates increased as their entire medical system begin to crumble. As it crumbles more people would be affected such as cancelled operations and such.

They have had to increase their quarantine zone to involve the whole country now. Because they were late to the game.

I don't know much about Trump since we only get liberal obviously biased news about him over here so I won't go into that. But I think you say that he tries to listen to experts for various things. The experts working in hotspots such as doctors in China & Italy cries out their overwhelmed exhaustion, fear and frustration.
They run out of things such as oxygen and intubations and have to choose who they have to save and who die. Just hope they decide to let the old dude die instead of you as they see two dying people but have to pick whom to save first...

If you understand basic mathematics such as exponential growth you'll see that you have a big problem on your hands if you don't nip this kind of problem early on.
We have a liberal socialistic government Bernie Sanders would dream about over here, and they've acted exactly the way you describe your government does!
What I mean is I think it is very easy for the government to try to talk down the problem and just compare current numbers of the flu and such in the early stages but that's exactly when they should act instead.
Our Bernie Sanders-utopian-like government tried to ignore the problem too, and I just hope their late actions yesterday aren't too late now!
The exponential growth of infected has increased itself the last couple of days here. The increase was roughly 10%, 20%, 22%, 30% PER DAY and yesterday we bumped 70% from 365 confirmed infected straight to 500
(500 in Sweden would translate to 16,450 in your population) IN ONE DAY! Let me repeat: confirmed infections does not mean infected as that number should be much higher.

You may be strong. As I am fit, under 40, no pre-existing medical issues I'm pretty sure I'd ease through the sickness and likely wouldn't even need to seek hospital care if I caught it. I may even have it without problems right now for all I know.

But I try to live by Christian culture standards so I care also for my next man who might not be as lucky.
I'm just saying your message is exactly the same as my government tried until they couldn't.

1/ ‘I feel the pressure to give you a quick personal update about what is happening in Italy, and also give some quick direct advice about what you should do.

2/ First, Lumbardy is the most developed region in Italy and it has a extraordinary good healthcare, I have worked in Italy, UK and Aus and don’t make the mistake to think that what is happening is happening in a 3rd world country.

3/ The current situation is difficult to imagine and numbers do not explain things at all. Our hospitals are overwhelmed by Covid-19, they are running 200% capacity

4/ We’ve stopped all routine, all ORs have been converted to ITUs and they are now diverting or not treating all other emergencies like trauma or strokes. There are hundreds of pts with severe resp failure and many of them do not have access to anything above a reservoir mask.

5/ Patients above 65 or younger with comorbidities are not even assessed by ITU, I am not saying not tubed, I’m saying not assessed and no ITU staff attends when they arrest. Staff are working as much as they can but they are starting to get sick and are emotionally overwhelmed.

6/ My friends call me in tears because they see people dying in front of them and they con only offer some oxygen. Ortho and pathologists are being given a leaflet and sent to see patients on NIV. PLEASE STOP, READ THIS AGAIN AND THINK.

7/ We have seen the same pattern in different areas a week apart, and there is no reason that in a few weeks it won’t be the same everywhere, this is the pattern:

8/ 1)A few positive cases, first mild measures, people are told to avoid ED but still hang out in groups, everyone says not to panick
2)Some moderate resp failures and a few severe ones that need tube, but regular access to ED is significantly reduced so everything looks great

9/ 3)Tons of patients with moderate resp failure, that overtime deteriorate to saturate ICUs first, then NIVs, then CPAP hoods, then even O2.
4)Staff gets sick so it gets difficult to cover for shifts, mortality spikes also from all other causes that can’t be treated properly.

10/ Everything about how to treat them is online but the only things that will make a difference are: do not be afraid of massively strict measures to keep people safe,

11/ if governments won’t do this at least keep your family safe, your loved ones with history of cancer or diabetes or any transplant will not be tubed if they need it even if they are young. By safe I mean YOU do not attend them and YOU decide who does and YOU teach them how to.

12/ Another typical attitude is read and listen to people saying things like this and think “that’s bad dude” and then go out for dinner because you think you’ll be safe.

13/ We have seen it, you won’t be if you don’t take it seriously. I really hope it won’t be as bad as here but prepare

 

I'm well over 60 with chronic conditions that put me in a poor category. If supplies and space are low I'll be the one they shuffle off into a corner while the effort goes to some young person. I'm not in a panic but neither am I willing to be flip about the situation. If this is such an easy peasy virus why are countries shutting their borders, quarantining numbers that are unprecedented, shutting down major sports events, and so much more. The governments words are soothing but their actions speak loudly.

President Trump took a strong lead early. He closed travel from China early, and Friday travel from Europe will be closed. He closed our southern border. He has worked with insurance companies to get our meds paid for early. He is working with business for improved sick leave and work from home arrangements. Nobody is perfect but he is the president we need at this point in time.

 

Unreal. That Twitter post sounds like the black plague part deux. To think that could happen here. I don't even want to know. This is a major disaster of monumental proportions. And it seems this crap comes straight outta China all the damn time. Pisses me the F off!

Did you know the black plague came out of China during the spice trade of the 1300s? Europe, especially Italy knows all about it and it went as far as Russia. Yet here were are in the 21st freaking century with modern medicine and it's like we are still stupid and not prepared.

Yes, it's the 21st century. Middle America is still stupid an not prepared. In addition, America's upper class and lower class are not prepared. There are small pockets of exceptions in these 3 broad classes.

I think it was the "Silk Road" China to Europe and side routes to India and eastern Med. The Spice Trade was a little later, trading in the camels for boats and sailing to the "Spice Islands", the Mulaccas, near our Forum Member Varuna's place.

Much, but not all, of the illnesses do come from China - their Guangdong Province - the former Canton Province, on north border of Hong Kong. It's originating in their huge industrial set-up pig farms. This ag program is symbiotic with US farmers for the pigs' foodstock and expansion. They recently bought the largest US pig business, Smithfield Farms, south section of Hampton Roads, Virginia.

As bad as China's generation of infectious diseases has been, the US homeless also breed disease. The California needle exchange program is not an innocent bystander. Flu shot exemptions for school kids ...... ("Freedom of Religion").

We Americans cannot cast the first - nor the second stone - until our own glass house has cleaner sides. Does the US have a large expenditure to the health care segment ?

It appears those preppers that moved to isolated survival retreats and piled up doomsday supplies were not so crazy after all .

 

The Corona Virus is airborne . What this means a person can transmit the virus without sneezing or coughing . Preppers in isolated retreats with substantial stocks of supplies are the sharpest and best.

This can be substantiated by the hybrid arrangement Preppers. There are now a large number of Preppers on the Atlantic seaboard with BOPs west of the Shenandoah Valley loaded with supplies from food,water to medical AND with well-planned
arrangements to travel there prior to SHTF.

The current national emergency - the COVID-19 virus - involves dense populations. The rest, as the saying goes, is "Do the math".
