Digital Currency and the coming Herding....

I have been thinking on this business of the government wanting desperately to hurry in a Digital Currency....and have come up with some ideas..

Here is what you need to know historically......

Starting with the olde Soviet Union....

Most of us as Americans do not know that in the olde Soviet Union...if you wanted to go to the next city over to see Granny....you had to get permission....a visa if you like...then on the day you went to see Granny...you first had to go to your local Soviet...then sign out....then when you got to the next city....or town...you did not go see Granny...you first went to that Soviet....office and signed in...then you went to see Granny..

When you left...you did the same thing in reverse.

    This is Ishmaelite Herding.....understand..????

With Digital Currency ...you no longer need this system....your digital currency tells on you all the time..every time you use it. Even if you just buy a soda out of a machine....it knows where, when , and how much you bought and your identity....so too does your electronic car....and cell phone with GPS...know where you are.

Why do you think they now make so many phones wherein you cannot remove the battery.?? Certainly not for your convenience.

Now here is the real rub...with digital currency....

And that is ...under a forever state of coming Lockdowns/Emergencies.....someone will know were you are and are not supposed to be continually....understand now???

And if you do not obey....they will lock you out of your account...your monies. Your EV car.

Lock you out even for non approved ideas...and concepts...political and social beliefs...

    Da Tovarich????

They cannot do this with cash....with coin...olde cars..but can with Digital Currency/ computer controls they can....Understand now???

Even with a check book they know what you are spending but not where you are at all times...

But with a credit/debit card....they know all of this....even when you purchase on line..

This is why in the back of my mind...Covid 19 lockdown was a pilot program to see how they need to adjust this coming system of Digital Currency....controls...over the whole country.

At some point they are going to outlaw cash.....coin...and try to go over to Digital Currency en toto. They have to in order to bring in the new controls and herding...

Remember too...one of the coming functions is to tie your vehicle into your Digital Currency Identification...understand??

Not only will they shut down your access to Digital Currency but your vehicle as well.

    Ishmaelites run wild...

Can any of the members see more to this coming Digital Currency than what I am thinking here..???

Remember me saying that there are more Communists/Socialists here in America than in Moscow....in particular on our colleges and universities. And they want security ...not opportunity.

My sometimes radical non Ishmaelite thoughts.

the same thing happens NOW when you use a debit or credit card or as some people are now doing paying with their phone.
I use a debit card in a supermarket for our monthly shop, same shop same day of the week, thats it, the rest of the month all our purchases are done using cash, even our meat order delivered to the front door is paid in cash.

So...what happens to people....for example....who got caught in a natural disaster...like hurricane or tornado....and electricity is out for weeks mayhap months....like The Dominican Republic et al.??? How do they carry on commerce???

This does happen...and that is the advantage of cash....coin....real monies..not so limited to electricity availability.

Not sure that the intelligences running our nation are thinking this far outside their need to control the herd for reasons of power and control.....for someone or something not wanting to be seen or known.

Let me put it another way......does the need for power and control over the hard ..is it more important than the needs of the public????

There's going to be a tidal wave of push-back here in the States. In urban corridors, east coast / west coast, the people aren't citizens, they are boot-lickers who submit to anti-Constitutional laws. They pretend that they are not government rape victims. However, Heartland America won't use digital currency. They may pay taxes with it, but they'll not trade with it. "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's."

True Americans ignore oppressive laws. The cancer in the White House has the ability to start a shooting war here in the States and they might just do that. My dad, his brothers, and their friends ignored stupid laws. I only remember one guy (friend of my dad and I liked him also) who got sent to the federal pin in Atlanta (we bought property from him to help pay his legal bills). When the state got involved in "legal" gambling (they'd been taking payoffs for decades), they concentrated their efforts and sent-out goon squads to shut-down their black market competitors. The gambling operation didn't have a sufficient number of soldiers to fight back.

Ban guns and millions will rise up and the bloodshed will be horrific. Ban non-digital money and people will simply barter. The price of gold and silver will explode, of course. Currently, the Fed suppresses the price of precious metals. It has to because people are losing faith in the dollar. Russia and China have been buying gold hand-over-fist so as to create a currency to replace the dollar on international markets. The Leftists are panicking / going full-fury against any efforts to hold-down the debt limit of the USSA. Leftists care nothing about inflation. They say in public that they want to limit inflation, but that's just another one of their lies. To communists, inflation is a tax on the "evil wealthy". The American government banned gold bullion for decades so as to have a monopoly on the money supply. The government will ban it again, but everyone will cheat. Americans don't follow laws. The government is and should be afraid of the armed Americans who grow the food, dig the coal, and pump the petroleum for the cities (ant farms housed within glass).

"Gold price is manipulated by the Fed, suspects mining tycoon Frank Giustra, but suppression can't last forever"

    https://www.kitco.com/news/2022-05-...ustra-but-suppression-can-t-last-forever.html

    Begin quote

The gold price has been “manipulated” by central bank authorities, in particular, the Federal Reserve for decades in a broader scheme to maintain U.S. dollar supremacy in the global monetary system, said mining and movie mogul Frank Giustra.

Giustra, who is the CEO of Fiore Group and also the founder of Lionsgate Entertainment, had in the past said that the price of gold was “managed” by central banks and bullion banks. Now, he is doubling down and saying that the price is “outright manipulated.”

“It’s been no secret that since the U.S. abandoned gold in 1971, they’ve tried to suppress it to allow the U.S. dollar to maintain its supremacy. That supremacy is important in terms of your home interest rates keeping them low, it’s important to anchor inflation expectations, it’s important for a whole bunch of reasons,” Giustra told Michelle Makori, Editor-in-Chief of Kitco News.

Due to the highly levered nature of the precious metals markets, gold is highly susceptible to spoofing, and other forms of trading manipulation, Giustra noted.

In September 2020, JPMorgan was found guilty of spoofing the metals futures markets by the CFTC and was subsequently fined $920 million.

“What I’ve noticed is that lately, when there’s a massive sell order, when there’s the crushing of the gold price, it’s quite vicious. To me, it looks like it’s done on purpose,” he noted.

Giustra said that he believes the Federal Reserve is one of the key actors in orchestrating a larger price manipulation movement.

Some years ago .I watched a fellow come into a PM Store..snd put down 20K to buy precious metal...gold...

Then again ...another trip to this store ...I watched the same fellow plop down 27 K for gold. This fellow clearly wanted the gold more than the paper dollars.

And I do not believe this was the only one so doing. I believe the move is on in PM's. People are slowly waking up and buying PMs...

I am picking up on clues the demand is high now....

Some ...like non preppers...never will wake up....but I think many preppers will.

But that was sort of a shock to see it ...twice......someone plopping down that much monies in cash....

But......this does not exclude other important preops.

In my reasoning, part of a prepper's prep should be precious metals. OK so me, I've some 1964 and before U.S. 90% silver coins. I can't go into why -- there are masses/innumerable reasons why. In the 1960s, I was charged with scanning / separating 90% silver coins out my lot's gambling machines' take. When you are just a kid, your brain is malleable to the max. Your brain is still wiring. Impressionable? Far beyond that!!!

It turned out to be true. Silver has gone through the roof relative to those days. I've mostly paid < $14/oz. and now silver is over $25/oz.. OK, so now I won't buy silver at these exorbitant prices ... yet, I feel that silver will FAR exceed $100/oz.

Problem is that it is NOT that silver is going up, it is that the dollar crashing. The dollar will inevitably go to very high grade toilet paper.

SHTF events (plural) run the gamut. It's not The sh## hitting the fan event. It is multiple SHTF scenarios. As we approach fiat currency melt-downs, humans WILL seek other "currencies" (a.k.a. barter systems). History proves this beyond all shadow of doubt. Silver will not be a primary currency during any Mad Max times -- fuel, canned meat, and ammunition will be. Yet, even then, silver and gold will hold value. Even precious gems and semi-precious gems will. History reveals that human nature is human nature. Mentally healthy people are pack animals. They are. Human Psychology 101 -- one of my under-graduate degrees is in Psychology. Plus, I've done too much clinical practicum, plus paid jobs therein. I've worked with the profoundly psychotic. Homey here knows humans. Terrible realm to work. Don't work in psychiatric units or out-patient centers unless your soul is very very very hard.

During post-SHTF events, we will have to be hard, will have to be armed, and have to be willing to kill other humans. Can't kill? Then, you're not a prepper. I unimaginably, deeply beyond deeply, wish that this were not true. Yet I am a man. I am not in denial. It angers me that I exist in these times ... that such a burden has been placed upon my soul . Not right. Just not fair. I stand in singular resentment before my Creator that this has been placed upon my shoulders. This is sick. I see that which is coming and it is dirty and unfair. To deny this is to be a child.

PM's are okay as an investment in good times, but as a prop for societal collapse I disagree.
I dont know anyone apart from the village idiot who would accept gold, silver or any type of coin in payment for food or other life saving goods in a SHTF world, also anyone who is known to have such items could be setting themselves up to be attacked.
not in my personal plans, the simple life for me.

With you 100% on this one LW, you can't eat or grow gold or silver.

More and more people don't use cash on a daily basis, even in Spain electronic payment is available in in small village stores.

Cash transactions in the UK is down to 1% with 24% of Americans still relying on cash but I'd guess much of that is down to the poor US banking systems when compared to Europe (they still use a thing called a cheque!!! )

Sweden will be cashless by the end of 2023. We've used notes and coins to buy(barter) for goods for over 2500 years, we're moving on; I've no problem with that.

Same lonewolf.....I do not pay bills by Credit or debit cards. I do not even have a debit card...

Agree ...privacy and also again....what happens to people with only cards when long periods happen with the electricity out ....huge electrical damage to these systems...??

You are where you are in the Uk because you do not like a lot of people....crowds...big citiers......the herd so to speak. Being forced into digital currency is the same as crowds....the people..the herd....big cities.

I've moved to using cash as much as possible now, simply as I do not want to be forced to go cashless. The more of us that use it the less likely it is to disappear.

there seems to be this assumption nowadays that everyone is online and everyone has a smartphone, putting all your eggs into one basket , otherwise known as Technology is fine until the electricity that powers that technology is null and void then no financial transactions can occur and smartphones are blank. seems TPTB didnt think of that.
not everyone is online or has a smartphone I can tell you, I know quite a few who arent.

Where I live may just have a unique culture. We are much like the Protestants in Northern Ireland (our blood ancestors); however, the GIANT difference between here and Northern Ireland is that we possess within us a deep and unimaginable anger towards anyone who would attempt to control us (read, English overlords back in the 1700s). Thus, during the Revolutionary War we went out of our way to kill-off British officers and anyone who supported them. We wanted dead all those who considered themselves better that others. My lot served with the Overmountain Men.

And we do pull together. Can't say for other cultures, but in hard times, we'll pull together. This won't be due to our liking each other so much, but due to our common loathing of our enemies.

Most men who've been my friends have had zero qualms about killing trash people and those who imagine themselves gods.

Truck fire, everybody gets out and forms a bucket brigade to put-out that fire. Been there done that. A cop gets attacked, the locals (several swarm in and beat the attacker). Co-worker's cousins had a neighbor who was attacked by some pukes who'd just gotten of the interstate to attack him and rob his house. The man's pregnant wife screamed out. The cousins heard her and came to the rescue. They almost beat the two men to death. Sheriff's department had no problems with those two cousins putting the men into the Intensive Care unit.

Me and my friends have no problem killing people. I fantasize about beating sh##-people to death with a baseball bat (Dad liked his blackjack). I enjoyed killing animals when I was a child and today I wouldn't mind getting together with others to kill-off interlopers. I've watched enemies drop their differences to take care of cultural trespassers. My sons also have stories. We in the South are not like other people. Poverty makes people join together, like it or not. Been there, seen that.

My culture is violent. We hate outsiders more than each other. All men here are armed. Most men have served in the military and hunting is one of their activities. High-power, accurate rifles are in almost every home. There doesn't exist the racial divisions as seen in urban areas. During the Civil War, we were part of the Underground Railroad. In this part of the South, we were Lincoln-supporters / Republicans. The Confederacy attacked us with cavalry units. Then and now, we'll pull together. People strike-up conversations with strangers on sidewalks and in stores. "Who's your kin?" "Oh, I know them!" "Which Church is yours?" Mess with people here and you'll dredge-up hell.

    https://www.ncpedia.org/anchor/overmountain-men-and-battle

One of my sons lives near the Sycamore Shoals. My kin are buried not far from the Nolichucky River.

we too in Britain have violent people, but it seems to be a city thing, must be because everyone is closer together with sometimes no more than a cigarette paper between them and their neighbours, this creates stressful situations.
I lived in a city for 40 years and I have seen both sides of the coin.
we dont get many problems where I am now in our rural area and any such conflicts can be amicably settled, usually by just having a friendly chat, no need for violence.

    I disagree...lonewolf....

Most of us here are some degree of Preppers....

We buy and store our preps in good times ..for the purpose of bad times.. PM s are no different.

I also know, via my father and German Mother, that after WW2 the German money was no good while a new government was being installed....

People who could manage it were trading their jewelry and any such items of value for food....labor....et al.

People were in essence deciding for themselves what would be usable in a barter economy. Money or whatever is to be used as money is the most swappable commodity.

Money is just a standardized form of barter/swapping. Notice this is not taught in economics classes!!!??

Many GI's were trading on the black market in Germany after the war and one of them was my Dad....

Cigarettes were money...particularly American cigarettes....so too gold and silver if you had any.

Canned meat was gold....so to other commodities...

My Dad has a little cigar box full of jewelry....watches et al.....from the black market.

My Dad had a 98 Mauser rebarreled to American 30.06 calibration....sporterized.stock...double set triggers....cost him $20.00 American and two cartons of Lucky Strikes.

People are not stupid.....they will determine for themselves at what price they will give up their labor and goods.

This is why stuff like Richard Nixon's price controls/fixing to solve inflation will not work. The marketplace determines...not government.

This is also why Government forcing people into electric cars is stupid.....the marketplace determines.....not government.

You have to be highly educated in professional stupidity ....to be that big a professional....a--wipe.....or be a politician.

    The Marketplace Determines....not the Government.!!!

Historically Government is the worst possible caretaker of the marketplace and also the biggest violator of the marketplace by deficit spending and inflation creation/manufacturing.....and thus violating every principle of free market economics.

I do not need a PHD to know this.

People will decide....for themselves.....a free people will decide for themselves for what they will give up their goods and services.....always...

IF the government monies stop working.....people will decide for themselves.

I dont believe post collapse it will be safe to trade/barter call it what you will. and that includes PM's.
there will be some who have nothing and others who will just loot and steal.
for that reason the larger the "die off" the better as far as I am concerned.
we need to prepare now for things that we will need post collapse, if we havent got it by then then learn to live without it. dont expect to just fall over those things you forgot to store.
when I first came onto prepping forums(NOT when I started prepping that was long before that) people would reel off great long lists of what they thought we all needed, most of it was ridiculous we would need a huge commercial warehouse to house it all if that were true, I have lived a simple life off grid(off everything) and we dont need that much, the trouble is most people if they survive will try to live the same way as before the collapse happened, that is an error, we need to adapt to the post collapse new normal and live more simply and more happier as a result.
I dont believe in a half collapse or something in between that and normal, it will be ALL or NOTHING.

Seems in this world there are massive variations in every category of everything.

Some cancers take so long to kill you that you'll likely die of a heart attack well before the cancer has a chance to take you out. Then there is pancreatic cancer which simply kills people in just a few months no matter what "cure" the physicians attempt.

SHTF scenarios are the same. If the US dollar dies slowly all manner of economic upsets will occur hither-thither. If it pulls a drop-dead-Fred (drop-dead-Fed), then the cities will burn in short order. Massive earthquakes are hair-trigger close around the Pacific Ring of Fire. Hundreds of thousands were annihilated in Indonesia, some got terrible damage, and others got next to zero damage. Nuclear wars come in all varieties. Could be seen in a region, on a few battlefields. Could be a full exchange between super-power nations to include the Doomsday cobalt bombs. Covid killed a few million, but had it been Ebola, tens of millions, even hundreds of millions would have died.

It's not going to be sunny days vs. Mad Max. Were I to live long enough, I'd expect to see numerous SHTF events, not just two or six; plus, the events will be of varying severity. They will be of varying lengths of time. I can say this, no matter where you live in the Northern Hemisphere, things are going to go sideways.

Everything in this world is complicated. Even if one has already dug bunkers, circumstances may rip him up and send him to who knows where. And those who are planning on bugging out may be forced to stay where they are. If one is looking for security in this world, then their soul picked the wrong universe.

The only safe form of survival will be isolation. Desperate people do desperate things and the risk of exposing yourself and your supplies to strangers is huge.

Back to the OP, I would advise the use of cash wherever possible in today's society. Even if one disregards the risks of coercive control, what happens if the banking system fails? That need not be through societal collapse, there may be other causes such as a repeat of the Carrington Event that could wipe out all our electronic systems out overnight.

Whatever the SHTF scenario and there will be all manner of permutations thereof, one must go invisible. To survive, one must keep their mouth shut.

SHTF events could be small scale events of short duration, the big one will be what causes societal collapse, I think we are already having small scale SHTF events what with what is going on in the world today plus what is happening in my own country.
most of the masses wont be able to survive because they dont have the skills and knowledge, the modern lifestyle shuts out everything that is traditional and relies on modern technology which is bound to fail once the power grid shuts down, like BB says the banking system will fail and bank accounts will shut down.
having some cash on hand will help in the short term but even that is limited to maybe the first few months eventually not even cash will be accepted.

Most banks now only issue cheque books to existing customers, nobody uses them. I've a couple of cheque books from different accounts but its been years since I used one and a lot of businesses won't accept them now.

I don't care what Big Brother knows about my shopping habits, I had Tesco and Asda loyalty cards, earned me about £400 a year. Tesco and Asda no longer accept personal cheques.

Not using electronic payment is just cutting off your nose to spite your face, your making life harder for yourself. Your more likely to be mugged and your cash stolen than getting hacked.

Forums are looked at all the time, key words and phrases can be picked up and ring an alarm, Big Brother knows all about us

I bet you love Gene Hackmans character in this LOL

I still get cheque books sent to me and I use them for all our bills which are still postal ones, keeps the postie who lives locally in employment, also the local post office staff.
I use a debit card for monthly supermarket shopping, all other shopping is paid for in cash. dont use loyalty cards.
we cant use debit or credit cards or smart phones at car boot sales or most open air markets in this neck of the woods, they are all cash only.
havent got time to watch stupid fiction films, they arent real life, I'm too busy in the garden this time of year anyway.
just because your life revolves around modern tech dont expect everyone else to be the same, life would be boring if we were all the same, did the same, thought the same, like the Borg.
I dont intend for anyone to tell me how to live my life, I always was different, not the norm, didnt "tick the box", they can all go to hell.

Here is a rather long article. I'm not going to try to pick out salient points. I just toss this out as a "fun read". The article details how governments get involved in naturally-occurring currencies and screw it all sideways.

The split second mommy registers your birth you are in the system for LIFE. The bank knows how much you earn and how you earn it, your local counsel knows how a lot about you, social security know all about your earnings as does the tax man. Every time you use your debit card they know where you used it. The UK is pretty much the king of CCTV cameras in the world (even in your neck of the woods). Your doctor knows a shed load about you. You realistically cannot isolate yourself from Big Brother and we are all in the same boat there...you have already 'ticked a lot of boxes'; you don't like that but thats tough, nothing you can do about it.

If your dream comes true and there is a collapse at societal level what 'they' know about you holds no value but in the meantime you are just making life more difficult for yourself and life is too short for that nonsense IMO.

Coronation of King Charles III tomorrow and I'd guess your no fan but why not just turn your laptop off and take your misses out for the day and go wild, enjoy yourself.

Local town has two 'British Bars' and they are covered in Jack flags and even the Spanish bars are joining in; my lads with me and three rig mates are due around 02:00...its going to be a good weekend ;)

Stay safe LW, look after yourself.

Hopefully as economies fail, the oligarchs and wanna-be gods in government will be disabled and not be able to pay their goons to go out and muck with the citizenry.

Where the wifer and I live, people can take care of themselves; machine shops, innumerable welders, infinite firewood, could use the local river to turn enormous water wheels for generators, most everybody is armed, many ex-combat-military men, farms as far as the eye can see, ... .

And the culture is friendly, especially if you are a local. Post SHTF, outsiders won't fare well here. I watched over 200 profoundly angry locals get together and in an auditorium put the word on the local city council. The bureaucrats didn't want to make our place a sanctuary town for assault rifle owners. Almost all counties in the state went sanctuary for the 2nd amendment. Subsequently, the next governor shut down talk about making semi-autos illegal. It was deeply encouraging to see law enforcement support the 2nd amendment.

Without dividing government into three distinct branches, you get a one-party state and that will definitely go corrupt at some point in time. Too few holding too much power always goes sick.

During a currency collapse, locals will barter and also use silver coins. I'd guess that there are some folk with gold. We'd work it out. This is a uni-cultural area.

BTW the "Union Jack" can only be called that on a Ship, on land its simply the Union Flag. its a common mistake.
societal collapse is no dream, with recent events its a raging certainty.

The way this works historically...is that when a government gets so irrisponsible...that they wreck the economy ....as in our great depression....people stop doing what they normally do .....for a number of reasons...but if they do not ....they will take a loss. Most people are not in this world to take a loss.....the economy grinds to a halt..

But eventually ...no matter the risk....people start trading/bartering for the things they need and do not have.

And if the official government monies are no good....people will establish their own standard.

This happened after the French Revolution and the new French Currency called the paper Assignats....versus the older gold Louis.

Even today most people know that the 1922 real silver dollar in my pocket is worth more in real value than the copper nickle token coinage currently issued and also the paper notes.

I know that because I can see it in the face of the waitress whom I will occasionally tip her with a real 90% silver....silver dollar.

An American silver dollar was not just a silver dollar..it was a dollar of silver by weight...;purity and fineness.

The American Half dollar was half the weight and fineness in silver as was the real silver ...silver dollar...

    and so on.

In a SHTF situation or TEOTWAWKI>....wherein there little to no law...predators will abound ...particularly in the cities until people get sick and tired of them as they are doing now in Haiti.

If low Lifes want to try that city nonsense out in the country.....good luck. Many of those people are related...including the constabularly ..and know every dirt road and path there is out there. You'd be lucky to find the bodies..

In Rural America.....many of the local Sheriffs are not interested in these weapons bans they are trying to come up with by these leftist state governors.. Many of these Sheriffs were raised in the country and know what hard living is about....and no city nonsense.
I am very gratified to hear many of these county sheriffs speaking out against weapons bans and that they will not be enforcing them. These sheriffs have better sense than many of these state governors...

These country folk....in particular know how to barter and haggle for what they need and want....cash or no cash. It's in their genes....and their upbringing.

once you get off the main highways in the UK, many of the country roads are simply not signposted, especially if they dont go to a place but just lead in the direction of ,they arent signed, in a SHTF or Collapse event many of the sign posts will be removed, the metal ones to be reused and the wooden ones will be used for firewood.
there are so many crossroads and junctions that without a paper map( sat nav/GPS wont work after the collapse) and the ability to read them many will just get lost and perish without ever being found.

I carry paper maps in the truck but I also explore the back country roads. It is always good to alternate routes available. I also concur that once it hits the fan, that city folks will not be welcomed into rural areas.

Another reason for nations going digital is that it allows them to massively manipulate "money" supplies and its movement. When the banking systems begin to tumble, the control freaks in government will attempt all manner of shenanigans to attempt to make repairs and to cover-up the reality of these banks being bankrupt. They will shift assets as if those assets belonged to themselves. This is generally referred to as theft.

"It's Spooky": Stanford Professor Warns Thousands Of US Banks Are "Potentially Insolvent"

    https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/i...fessor-warns-thousands-us-banks-are-insolvent

"Following the collapse of First Republic last week, the meltdown of three other banks, and the Federal Reserve's quarter-point increase, making the tenth straight hike in an aggressive campaign to tame elevated inflation, a professor of finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business presented a grim warning that the regional banking dominos are falling.

"In a New York Times opinion piece titled"Yes, You Should Be Worried About a Potential Bank Crisis. Here's Why,"Professor Amit Seru wrote, 'the fragility and collapse of several high-profile banks are most likely not an isolated phenomenon.' He said, 'A damaging combination of fast-rising interest rates, major changes in work patterns, and the potential of a recession could prompt a credit crunch not seen since the 2008 financial crisis.'

"In an interview with The Guardian, Seru was more precise about just how many banks were burning through their capital buffers and were underwater. The estimate is shocking: Almost half of America's 4,800 banks.

" 'It's spooky. Thousands of banks are underwater.'

" 'Let's not pretend that this is just about Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic. A lot of the US banking system is potentially insolvent.'

"In Seru's NYTimes op-ed piece, he noted, 'There's another looming area of concern that could spark such panic: The commercial real estate sector.'

" 'Commercial real estate loans, worth $2.7 trillion in the United States, make up around a quarter of an average bank's assets. Many of these loans are coming due in the next few years, and refinancing them at higher rates naturally increases the risk of default. Rising interest rates also depress the value of commercial properties, especially those with long-term leases and limited rent escalation clauses, which also increases the likelihood of owner default. In the Great Recession, for example, default rates rose to about 9 percent, up from around 1 percent, as interest rates rose.' "

I was told by certain people over 30 years ago ..thast the banks would be headed in this direction of insolvency ...and so too the Federal government due to huge deficit spending....inflation creation.....

Remember...this was 30 plus years ago.

Not what our news was telling us back then nor today...

    “ 'Shut up — or Else!' ”

    https://dailyreckoning.com/shut-up-or-else/

    Begin quote

If you challenge what the authorities say, you become a threat to group cohesiveness, and, therefore, a threat to group survival.

In that vein, I’ve been warning my readers for over a year about the dangers of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) that are being rolled out by central banks around the world.

In the U.S., I’ve called them “Biden Bucks.” I’ve warned that they could quite possibly lead to a total surveillance state in which the government can track your every purchase — and regulate the most minute aspects of your life.

CBDCs are programmable. They allow central banks (or regulated commercial banks) to monitor your purchases.

In conjunction with artificial intelligence (AI), purchases and other uses of money (charitable contributions, political contributions, travel, etc.) can create a profile that identifies you as an enemy of the people as described by the government.

CBDCs can be used to freeze your account, require you to spend money at the risk of confiscation in the form of a “fiscal penalty” or to impose withholding tax on professionals and independent contractors who are not currently subject to withholding.

Your “Biden Bucks” could also be made to stop working at the gas pump once you’ve purchased a certain amount of gasoline in a week. Or you could be banned from buying a steak at the grocery store if you’ve exceeded your weekly quota of meat consumption.

    Financial Apartheid

Biden Bucks can also allow the creation of a segregated society based on wealth. If you’re in a higher income bracket, for example, you might have to pay more for the products you buy than someone in a lower income bracket.

“Hey, you can afford to pay $10 for a gallon of milk, while the other guy can’t. Why should he have to pay the same price as you? That’s unfair. So guess what? If you want that gallon of milk, it’s going to cost you $10.”

That could apply to any product. And you can be sure that in many cases, “the wealthy” would really mean the middle class.

The bottom line is CBDCs would create massive opportunities for social control that the worst tyrants in history would have envied.

That’s why these globalist elites are so enamored of them. It explains why they’re pursuing them so aggressively — even if nations must change their constitutions to accommodate them.

Of course, mainstream news outlets have tried to discredit me as I raise these concerns. For example, The Associated Press tried to “fact-check” me, claiming that my warnings about government control were paranoid.

But as I’ve recently pointed out, even the general manager of the BIS, which is known as the “central bank of central banks,” has admitted that CBDCs would give central banks “absolute control” of everyone’s money — and the “technology to enforce that.”

But maybe you think that all this is years away, that you don’t have to worry about it right now. Well, think again.

We don’t have to wait until then to see how this works in practice. Government control of bank accounts to attack political enemies is already here.

There can be little doubt that Farage is popular among U.K. voters and despised by the U.K. political elite. Recently, the elites had their revenge.

His bank notified him that his accounts were being closed and he had a deadline to remove his funds.

He then spent weeks trying to open new accounts at other U.K. banks. He was refused time and time again. Clearly this was an orchestrated attack on his financial freedom.

If they can do this to Farage, they will do it to you if you oppose them on issues like climate, globalization or immigration.

Here in the U.S., it can include issues such as gun control or election integrity. Or if you support the wrong political candidates like Donald Trump, they could target you.

To globalists, the moral arc of the universe bends in one direction, and that’s toward increasing globalization. Populism and protectionism are therefore moral evils that must be condemned.

Freezing their enemies out of the banking and financial system is a powerful tool elites can use to punish their enemies and deter dissent.
