Dr O'Connell is just not well read. How one can live with a sense of meaning and purpose was clearly written by Dr Viktor Frankle in "Man's Search For Meaning". Dr Frankle, a psychiatrist, survived the concentration camps. The book is 1959. Frankle adds background by Nietzsche.

FYI, I keep Frankle's book in my bookshelf section with other survival books.

It doesn't matter of the silo dwellers of South Dakota missed the public service announcements (PSAs) to report to location X to get immunized against COVID-19 or COVID-22.
