Some serious matters are presented.

As it is now, the local residence owners pay much tax to schools that have less value than the costs. Many of the kids are unemployable after completing the public schools.

I remember high school to be a waste of time.

The essay is a little long but loaded with thought-provoking material.

 

When your education system is like this (video below), nobody is employable

I'm still trying to figure out why many US school districts here have LE officers working in the schools.

I liked the video though it left a certain disgust in my craw.

I have on occasion, going back many many years, spoken and posted on people being overly 'Feeling" and not thinking or rational or using logic and reason.

I attribute this to going back to Phil Donahue and the touchy feely "Victim Dictum" mentality he manufactured all across this land and also the plethora of similar programs which were to spawn off his show.

"Professional Victimization" and the body politic did not miss out on how this could be exploited for votes and thereby power in an election...via a television and or movie education in "Feeling" not thinking.

We are seeing this play out right now ...today in the attempts by the left to manufacture racism for political and social capital...by their constant manufacturing of a bad guy....good cop/bad cop techniques....very similar to Phil Donahue.
And we see the media in on it like the pulp magazines at the check out stands..

No one wants educated voters that they cannot herd for political purposes...meaning they have to control the narrative..ie..the media...as well as public education.

Drama Drama...Drama. Jerry........Jerry......Jerry!!!!


You can see this trend in thinking versus emoting in some of the posts on this forum.....particularly once you know that history going back to Phil Donahue....and "Victimization".....the "Victim Dictum."

Because public schools have become, in many cities and towns, collection points for all kinds of violence, drug use/sales...etc etc etc. Even not safe for the teachers.

They have also today become easy targets for people looking to express their frustration and or outrage on unarmed vulnerable people.


Such peoples...mental types....do not come to our gun club to sell drugs and or do violence......I wonder why????

I don't think rapists... con men....et al would do well plying their trade at our gun club. Nor anti 2A politicians..they don't come to our gun club as well.

Terrorists don't like to come to our gun club...now that I think about it.

Wonder if such types come to gun clubs and or shooting ranges in other states...??

Would like to hear from other members on this concept.

Ah Ha ! So that's the reason.

 

Pragmatist,

At the same time I have my beef with the educational system in that they do not teach a type of critical thinking skills...and I myself did not awaken to this until many many years after leaving public schools.

They are teaching a type of herd mentality....conformity ..not individual thinking...,and even these standards seem to be falling in what they do teach.

It seems to me that much of pubic education has become a jobs program...job security for someone in the overall system ..not about the education of the student...in line with herd mentality.

I tend towards describing this as the perfect bee hive..ant farm....no individualism allowed except at the queen bee level...and for certain individuals.

Ironically ..some people do....over time...break out of the herd....and herd thinking....

And some of them have spoken out about what is going on. They tend to be not well liked by the herd...and particularly the leaders in the herd..


I was first told this about a jobs program when dating a woman who wanted to adopt their two foster children. The Foster Care system did not want this ...as they would have to get replacements so as to not lose federal funds.

Until then I'd never thought of it as a jobs program...Welfare can be like this too....not wanting to lose funds...

So too the Military budgets...

My complete agreement; disguised welfare; disguised unemployment.

Of course it's a jobs program.

I lean toward the new, smaller models of education such as charter schools (but not the Virginia model with same school board providing oversight), home schooling (if appropriate; all cannot do this for their kids), reducing the age for public school completion to eg 14-16. The community colleges are ideal for post 14yo, 16yo additional studies of various sorts.

Virginia Dept of Social Services - the foster program - and it's not only that program - of course it's welfare for the employees.

Re the military budget; Had been told of practice that when CVN or LHA in drydock, the Ray Ban crews still received flight pay, sea duty pay, who knows what else ?!

Since circa Reagan (Grenada, Lebannon [USS NJ forced to leave E. Med]) - perhaps even earlier - the US wins some physical aspects of military campaigns with an overall net loss. The US budgets use money borrowed from Japan and China. American destiny is not in American hands. There's a reason Trump is hated.

Public high schools have been dumbed-down so far that now people must send their kids to private schools. It's been decades since our kids were in high school, so all we hear are stories from a generation of high school parents a generation younger than us.

In our high school we took chemistry, physics, advanced math to get us into university. In those days, one didn't get into university or a grad school without having thoroughly proved themselves.

Since schools now feel the need to graduate those of lowest intelligence, our nation has suffered mightily. Universities spend billions of dollars on tutoring programs to get students (mainly minority students) to a position of being able to perform junior high school work.

The best university students now come from rural areas where there is less slack-off in curriculum.

The Left has successfully raped America. I guess we'll now have us a race war / civil war.
