GAO, the "Congressional watchdog" has a report in above link that shows the national picture.

Much of this is Prepper type of material when appropriately adjusted to specific situation.

Red the picture of the NCNG, the counterpart Virginia NG big wheeled vehicles don't ave the best of maintenance programs. I've worked with them as an Emergency Responder. Much work required - not on the vehicles - that's obvious. The work is needed with the members of the Guard.

Remember that the flooded road could have an abandoned horse in trailer. Mosquitoes will look for nice places to visit. Cover up your welcome mats.

"Disaster housing" also means (but not published too much even on restricted sites) migrations. Be nice and sing songs together.
