St Greta of Thunberg – Patron Saint of the Age of Stupid – has made landfall in the New World, there to preach to the unbelievers her gospel of imminent climate doom.

“The war on nature must end,” she has declared, to anyone who is listening.

Though St Greta has become a figure of huge influence in Europe – feted by Popes, presidents and prime ministers, lauded with uncritical coverage in the mainstream media, put forward for a Nobel Peace Prize – it seems likely that in the United States she will get a more mixed reception.

While the left will most certainly try to shoehorn her into their Green New Deal campaign, the right may be less convinced.

That’s because, unlike a worrying number of their counterparts across the pond, U.S. conservatives understand St Greta’s environmental scare narrative for what it is: a hoax.

Especially, it’s an anti-American hoax. As Rupert Darwall describes in some detail in his book Green Tyranny (listen to the podcast interview here) the global warming scare was cooked up largely by European leftists (the Swedes and Germans being the worst offenders) with the purpose of destroying Western Industrial Civilization – U.S. Industrial Civilization in particular.

To understand how utterly specious St Greta’s gospel of apocalypse is, a good place to start is this excellent video by Tony Heller.

Heller has a nice line in dry sarcasm:

“Greta will go to the UN next week and read a speech which was carefully prepared for her by some of the world’s leading propagandists.”

And he has the measure of Greta’s propaganda litany:

“She will say that children of her generation face a terrible future of heat, famine, disease and every other imaginable natural disaster. Basically, she will describe a life which is the exact opposite of the charmed life that she is living. And her prophecies of doom will be described by the press as a magnet for hope. Her message of hope will be that if we simply lower carbon dioxide levels to those of the pre-industrial era everything will be fine…”

Did the world’s children really have it easier in the era before catastrophic man-made carbon emissions ruined everything?

Heller points out that just over a century ago, New York was in the grip of a polio epidemic. Are we really to believe that the children of tomorrow are going to be looking back enviously at their early 20th century forebears and wishing: “If only I could be crippled with polio, like kids were in the good old days!”

Heller writes:

The polio epidemic spread all over the country. This 1916 photo was taken in Billings, Montana. (At least the children didn’t have to face an extra 0.0001 mole fraction CO2 in the atmosphere.)



Two years after the 1916 New York polio outbreak came the worst pandemic in history – the Spanish flu outbreak which killed as many as 40 million people, most of them young.

Greta – and those behind her – need to get a sense of historical perspective.

They also need a better grasp of climatology.

In the U.S. most of the hottest days in the last 100 years occurred during the early part of the 20th century.

For example:

US August 22 afternoon temperatures have been declining since 1895.

The likelihood of hot weather has also been declining, with recent years among the coolest on record.





Yet how often do you hear these climate facts from the alarmist mainstream media?

It has become a trope of the climate alarmist Establishment and its various useful idiots that to attack Greta Thunberg is somehow cruel or immoral or unfair; that the people who do so are motivated by misogyny or the bitterness of old age or all those payments they are getting from Big Oil…

The problem with Greta Thunberg is not that she’s a 16-year-old girl with pigtails.

The problem with Greta Thunberg is not that she’s a school drop out.

The problem with Greta Thunberg is not she’s autistic.

There are hundreds of thousands of other kids around the world with some or all of these features – and none is being criticised for having them.

No, the problem with Greta Thunberg is that no matter how brave or inspirational or articulate or touchingly young and fresh-faced or triumphant-over-mental-adversity she may be, the “facts” she regurgitates on behalf of her controllers are lies, propaganda and fake news – and the cause she represents is downright evil.

Strip away all the fluffy invocations of nature and the plight of future generations and the alleged crisis facing mother earth and what you find underneath is pure totalitarianism.

It’s no secret conspiracy. I wrote a book about it nearly ten years ago – Watermelons – and I can assure you there is nothing secret about the green movement’s totalitarian masterplan for anyone prepared to do a little background reading. Rather this is a conspiracy in plain sight.

And it’s a very dangerous conspiracy. If the green totalitarians get their way, standards of living will plummet, energy prices will become even less affordable than they are now, freedoms will become more constricted, more wildlife will be obliterated and more landscapes ruined by bat-chomping, bird-slicing eco-crucifixes, more money will be concentrated in the hand of a liberal-left oligarchy – none of it contributing the slightest material improvement to the state of the planet.

Greta Thunberg is currently the most prominent representative of that totalitarian movement.

Like it or not, cruel or no, that makes her the face of evil.

I can agree with Saint Greta's "war on nature must end". Get her on the next flight out to New Delhi to preach. Mother Terese can brief her on good Indian restaurants.

To me, a Nobel Peace Prize has the significance like someone buying commando medals.

Someone is involved in child cruelty by using the youth.

Even if I believed every word of the BS they preach, we are not the problem. China is much worse, India is worse, and the emerging economies in Africa? Forget it. Punishing Americans and stealing our money is not going to solve anything. Add to that the fact that AGW is a hoax, and there is no way in hell we should go along with this.

 

We humans could be adding to it. Our CO2 is certainly making the forests happy. The satellite data shows that the biomass of forests world-wide are increasing. I'll go all Gaia-loving if the subject of protecting rain-forests comes up -- has to do with the soil in these regions. Dirt there turns to freaking brick in the sun; farmers mightily suffer to grow a semi-decent crop, make it green again ... or raise cattle on the grasses they attempt to grow. Maybe all of the cow sh## (uh-oh methane!) will inevitably bring back the soil.

The big increase in fires in rain-forest areas -- as reported by the media -- is due to local farmers burning last year's crop in an attempt to better prepare the soil for the upcoming growing season. The forests are not going up in flames. Makes good commie press, if you don't tell the whole story.

But here's the deal, I can't make this planet Earth regrow its magnetic lines of flux that protect our atmosphere's temperature from increasing. Quite beyond me actually.

 

But she is being used as their new face so therefore she is the face of their evil. They think she is not attackable because she is young, innocent, autistic, cute and female. A perfect face for their cause so she is being flaunted everywhere.

Another talking head, preaching propaganda and spinning bad science for political gain. Yet, they NEVER answer (or even ask) the simple questions.

1. What can individuals do to change the climate?

2. What insures EVERYONE does it?

3. Since the fossil record shows the world has been much hotter in the past, what proves humans are affecting the planet climate permanently this time?

4. Who develops the plan to alter the climate?

5. Who will benefit from that alteration?

6. Who CONTROLS the plan?

7. How do they CONTROL the plan?

8. Who CONTROLS the CONTROLERS?

Then for the big question that NO ONE wants to ask and even fewer want an answer to.

From the papers/studies I've read the worlds temperatures and ocean levels were both much higher during the worlds last interglacial period. The same direction were heading now. Without humans being there to blame.

Being good stewards of the planet and the resources we have is just good sense and humans will survive the changes. For myself, I'm not willing to let some politician or bureaucrat decide if mine or a loved ones life is worth saving, or terminating.

Just my opinion.

That is true but major parts of this agenda do exactly that. I'm not saying this is a plan to JUST attack America but huge portions of this agenda will have an effect on American's lives and a lot of the agenda is aimed directly at America in a lot of ways including financing. Financing the 3rd world using American money has been and agenda that has been pushed for the last 10 to 20 years. When the globalist plan for redistribution of wealth was floated many poor Americans thought "Oh great, I will finally get some money" and jumped right on board. What they didn't realize is that by world standards they are not poor and "THEIR" money would go to countries in Africa and Asia that were really poor and had been taken advantage of by their own leaders or other countries in Europe over the years. @lonewolf your accusatory statement shows that in fact perhaps you are the one who cannot see.

 

Great questions. The lefties avoid discussing stuff like that like it is the plague. Actually, given the state of some commiefornia cities, I think they prefer the plague.

 

"NO life on planet earth will be possible" That is simply fear mongering to push the globalist agenda forward. You may think that you are financing poor and 3rd world countries but until they implement the carbon tax on a worldwide scale and you have to pay out of your own pocket for every toaster that you plug in or your auto ride or bus ride to work and your tax rate jumps up to 80% or more then you are paying nothing as of yet. Are you really willing to hand over 80% of your money or more for it to be handed out to Angola or Somalia or some other country that is totally corrupt and has squandered nd pilfered the wealth of their own country? Most likely every country supported by the UK or the USA or other European nations have either a political reason, a military reason or a future wealth reason IE minerals or gas and oil. If you think your country is supporting another country out of the goodness of their heart you are sadly mistaken.

I can see you're missing the point being made.

I am a conservationist - the word "environmentalist" is politically-charged here in the States - and actually make diligent efforts to help the place. My credentials are solid.

You can be a modern day equivalent of Albert Schweitzer, M.D. and go to Gabon to repair the world. Look at Gabon today. Look at Mother Teresa's Calcutta today. Look at California with their thick code of environmental laws and regulations and the forest fires.

The problem is not the littering plastic bags blowing around in the wind or plastic water bottles cluttering up the county dump. These are manifestations of the actual problem. The problem is non-responsive government.

We here in the States witnessed the growing insulation of government organizations from popular staffing and even popular influence.

There is much to be said about the late William Buckley's statement - forgot actual quote but similar to "I'd rather be governed by the first 200 names in a phone book than the Harvard Law faculty".

You and I combined have no significance on the problem. The populations of the UK and the US have, in substance, no significance on the problem.

What you're hearing from us is not a disregard for nature but the knowledge of the real problem.

 

Then plant a tree in your neighborhood and quit pushing globalist socialist agendas. Many who have children and grandchildren who will not be able to feed them are concerned with money. Socialists are always about the whole world until payment comes out of their own pockets.

Much hotter then it is now. I guess all of our autos and factories and airliners did that? I'm sure if there was recorded data further back there were many periods that it was much hotter. Lets blame it on man and make them all change their lifestyle because a few people who make money off of it or gain power because of it say so shall we? Lets send a 16 year old autistic, 9th grade drop out girl around the world to try to shame everyone shall we?

 

If you truly believe that man is killing the earth and soon no life will be possible, why are you still alive and violating your ethos? One of the central tenets of the environazis is that population reduction is a must. See the Georgia guidestones. If you accept their beliefs, shouldn't you self terminate? Or, like the globalist elites, do you believe only "others" should be culled to reduce the population to proper carrying capacity?

Americans seem pretty divided along political lines on this subject but what I don't understand is why the Aussies and Brits and many other countries in Europe are eating it all up it seems from both sides? Are they more easily convinced or do they do less critical thinking and less investigation on their own or is it that the press in those countries is pretty much all leftist spin and that is all they are fed? I am so curious why.
