IG Report Reveals Steele Funneled Claims Through John McCain After FBI Dropped Him

Late Senator John McCain provided disgraced former FBI chief James Comey with five separate reports from Christopher Steele that the FBI didn’t previously possess related to unsubstantiated allegations of collusion between Russia and President Trump’s 2016 campaign, the Justice Department’s recent Inspector General report revealed.

There have long been questions about why it was necessary for McCain to pass Steele’s anti-Trump dossier to Comey on December 9, 2016, several weeks after the November 2016 presidential election. By then, Steele had already met numerous times with FBI agents to provide them with his controversial reports. Steele, however, was terminated as an FBI source in the fall of 2016 because he spoke to the news media.

The IG report discloses that McCain gave five new Steele reports to Comey that the FBI did not previously possess, showing that McCain served as a conduit for Steele’s information to reach the FBI even after the British ex-spy was formally cut off as an FBI source.

It is not clear whether McCain knew at the time that Steele had previously been terminated as an FBI source.

The IG report also verifies that a McCain aid obtained the Steele reports directly from Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson, meaning that when McCain transferred the anti-Trump charges to Comey he had to have known that the material originated with a firm that specializes in controversial opposition tactics.

Fusion GPS was paid for its anti-Trump work by Trump’s primary political opponents, namely Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) via the Perkins Coie law firm.

    States the IG report:

Several weeks later, on December 9, 2016, Senator John McCain provided Comney with a collection of 16 Steele election reports, 5 of which Steele had not given the FBI. McCain had obtained these reports from a staff member at the McCain Institute. The McCain Institute staff member had met with Steele and later acquired the reports from Simpson.

The unnamed McCain staff member is known to be David J. Kramer, who also infamously provided BuzzFeed with the Steele dossier.

BuzzFeed published Steele’s full dossier on January 10, 2017 setting off a firestorm of news media coverage about the document.

Prior to his death, McCain admitted to personally handing the dossier to Comey but he refused repeated requests for comment about whether he had a role in providing the dossier to BuzzFeed, including numerous inquiries sent to his office by this reporter.

In his book published last year, McCain maintained he had an “obligation” to pass the dossier charges against Trump to Comey and he would even do it again. “Anyone who doesn’t like it can go to hell,” McCain exclaimed.

McCain was a once-great man that allowed his health issues to erode his intellect and in the end, he turned on his own party. The mental issues of people in power are not uncommon but in McCain's case, he was ill-used by people that he should have never allowed into his inner circle. Ronald Regan by the end of his second term was little more than a puppet. He was deep into Alzheimers by the end. His wife was more in charge than he was and she did a good job of allowing him to finish his presidency with dignity. McCain was not so lucky.

    The deep state is real.

I agree about the sentiments about McCain above. I voted for him 2008 and he would have made a better President then Oloser. We even have a RINO named Romney. I voted for him too, but we see how he's been acting lately. I think it's jealousy. They couldn't become President so now just like the Demonuts they are pouting and stomping their feet like little kids.

I voted for McCain too even though he had that bimbo on the ticket with him. there are some good female politicians out there but Palin wasn't one of them. I couldn't go with Romney. I'm not a part of his middle class that makes a quarter million a year. He was as out of touch with reality as Algore and that says a LOT. I voted libertarian on that one in protest. Honestly, until Trump, there wasn't all that much difference between what the Republicans DID and what the Democrats said they wanted to do. The Republicans talk a good show, remember their contract with America???. The problem is that the day after the election they just laugh and throw all that crap out the window. I detest the Liberal Democrats but at least they try to do the insane things that they promised before the election.

we seem to be in a period where the electability as far as the liberals and a growing part of the Republican party is concerned has more to do with skin color and genitalia than competency, leadership or experience on the international level. When you elect a governor you never know what you are going to get. Jimmy Carter was a nice man but he was fool when it came to dealing with other nations. The only reason that I voted for George the second was that it got him out of Austin. he bankrupted us!!! While not great he did make a better President than a Governor and was a little better than George the first.

I honestly can go with the socialists better than I can these insane liberals that we are hearing from these days. If you forced me to decide between Hillary, Bernie and that crazy AOC Witch with the new green deal, I'd have to vote for Bernie!!! And that is frightening!! The democrats are getting so far left that they are actually scaring a lot of people to the right. Some of those leftmost liberals are totally insane! They along with some of the Republicans would destroy our country if it benefited their party. They are no longer Americans in their allegiance!

Palin was the best governor we had in recent history. She'd be a great president and if McCain had given her her reigns they'd have done better. She is very conservative and was cutting the budget in Alaska. The democrats were bankrupting her with law suits. After she was out of office they changed the law so the State defends the governor in court. The press doesn't like her but they don't like Trump either.

I have no doubt that people in a state see a different thing in their governor that people from other places might not see in a vice presidential or presidential candidate. When it comes to politicians there are two things that I NEVER pay any attention to. What politicians SAY in political speeches or anything much that the liberal media says. Politicians say a lot but DO very little. I look at what they have actually DONE to judge what to expect them to do in the future.

I felt that Palin was another Dan Quail and didn't bring anything to the ticket. I think that they hoped that she would make liberal women be more accepting just because she was a woman. They hated her and shredded her. Liberals might vote liberal for a womon just for that reason but conservatives don't and so she was a poor choice. Winning Presidential runs are made by offering where the VP is a strong runner on their own. Reagan/Bush were opposites in many ways so they were attractive to people that had differing views. The same was true of the Kennedy/Johnson ticket. Often elections are not decided by who voted so much as who DIDN'T vote.

People that didn't especially like McCain were unlikely to vote for him because they liked Palin. Other than the people in Alaska nobody else really knew anything about her. A strong ticket has TWO people on it that made a strong run for the top spot. Dan Quail and Sarah Palin just were blank faces to most Americans. Everything that they said was scripted by the Presidential runner's crew so were mostly ignored as just being parroted. Trump was more elected by people that got out to vote AGAINST Clinton and by Democrats that just didn't vote because they disliked her as much as the Republicans than by people that were enthused about voting FOR him. I think that his second run will be much stronger.

McCain put Palin on the ticket t gain vote. She had a stronger following which McCain was jealous of so he put her on a short leash. Palin/McCain ticket would have done much better. She would have done a better job than either of them. You're right about people not knowing her. That's because of McStain and the press. The liberals hate her conservative policies. Just as they try to destroy Trump the liberals went after Palin.

The main reason I wrote off McStain was when he called his Vietnamese captors gooks an then apologized. Anybody that mistreated and tortured me would be called a hell of a lot worse. No guts to stand up to the media, means he would not have had the guts to stand up for America.

McCain was an egotistical, self serving waste of a senator. I certainly have respect for what he went through during the Vietnam war, but that doesn’t give him exemption from criticism for what he did after that.

I voted for him as Obama was an even worse egotistical, self serving waste of a senator.

I really liked Palin more so than McCain. I read about her and while she was mayor of Wasilla? she had a jar on her desk with everyone's name and once a week she'd pull a name from the jar and ask them how things were going. Now call me cynical, but that doesn't sound like your typical drip drop politician from the corrupt shit bag faucet we all come to know about. I really liked her common sense ideas concerning government, her take on this state's (Colorado) bull shit with wasted money, etc. While she seemed like a dunce and was perpetrated as such by day one when McCain introduced her, she was not. I mean, yeah, she said she could see Russia from her front door or what ever. Does anyone honestly believe she really means that? How stupid of a left-wing idiot are you to take that at face value? Then again, I think it was CNN just recently fact checking some joke Trump tweeted. The context of what was said by Trump I can't remember now, but it was both cringe worthy by the Communist News Network and their so-called "fact checking" a damn joke. Leave it for the shit baggery press and the Dems to take everything so literal. And there in lies the crux of the situation. The press drills crap into the viewer's heads and the people believe it because they just go by what's tossed into the wind and what ever sticks. A lot of people are very ill informed so it's a rife atmosphere for propaganda and massaging the masses to your will. But it seems now more and more people are paying closer attention to what is really going on and populism is taking off. Just happened in the U.K after all. Did so in Brazil as well and in Ukraine.

If there's one woman I'd like to see run for President in 2024 it's Nikki Haley. I've seen her performance at the UN and dishing it out at those idiots and I'm impressed. I personally think she'd make a great President. As good as Trump I don't know. She has the common sense, but I don't know about the business acumen.

He was more than that. On Twitter I always, ALWAYS surrounded his name with two turd emoticons. His administration was one, if not the most corrupt I have ever seen in the 39 years I've been on this planet. I've of course lived through the Clinton mafia admin with Clint Foster, lying under oath, etc, and my parents tell a story of Carter, but by in large, Iran's personal 150 billion banker takes the freaking cake!

    About Clinton.
