If you have a parka, it is one good item to bring when going camping. If you don’t have a shelter, the parka’s hood will serve as protection for your head. Don’t discount mountain dew when sleeping in the wilds because it can make you sick. And when the sun is searing hot, it is best to wear the parka to avoid gettting sunburned. Unlike the sweater and the ordinary jacket that is uncomfortable when it is not cold, you can wear the parka anytime as protection against insect particularly mosquitoes and bugs.

Yes, I think a light weight parka would be good unless you are in conditions of extreme cold then you would want something more durable and warmer obviously. It is good to have something to protect your head and your body though and a parka may be the way to go for this. The hood is a good tool to protect your head and body.
