Not challenging current univ President Christopher Eisgruber, that "Wilson's racism disqualifies him as a role model".

My question is who from the "South" of that era could serve as a role model ? After Reconstruction (1865-1877[ Troops were here near this new fangled telegraph key until 1870]) the followon era was called "Reconciliation", a healing sort of program - naming forts after Confederate generals, etc.

Helen Keller's dad was a Confederate Army officer. Bernard Baruch's dad was a Confederate Army medical officer - studied in Richmond, Virginia. Many more prominent names with backgrounds not thoroughly checked.

Fortunately, the Northerners with their slaves converted to indentured servants, etc. were enlightened.

John Dos Pasos' dad, a Wall Street tycoon of some sort, bought much land in Westmoreland County, Virginia, at about 1 - 2 cents of low value assessment. John Dos Pasos was living at the same time as a few others here at Forum.

Let's avoid looking at the era's members of the Supremes.
