Note article's "an economic crisis with far reaching implications".

In the US, real/accepted "environmental goals" will continue. Wind turbines and solar will only arrive here when they deliver the profits oil/gas does. Otherwise, be realistic on "environmental goals". The famous goal already met is the clean(er) fuel for the world trade vessels.

You make a very good point. So many good ideas do not get "off the ground" due to lack of profitability.
