It really has become so very bizarre in the media and social media lately. All sense of reality has been lost. I wonder if theses snowflake type now where their food comes from?

For at least three decades now, I've read about city school children being bused out to farms to see from where their food comes. Telling ... and a bit scary.

Walt Disney perpetrated a great evil on America, maybe even other countries were also injured. Talking animals with human emotions involved in stories that ended happily -- such is a horrific Big Lie. The county kids are far less likely to live in a fantasy world. Seems no small portion of the Disney-poisoned children "grew up" to become marshmallow adults.

Such poisons cripple people from facing reality as it is. Are today's people capable of self-sacrifice? Heavens no! They are self-centered and sickenly weak. This is a great danger to human freedom. Freedom isn't free.

whilst there are some UK city farms for under previleged kids most parents wont go anywhere near a farm "all that animal muck, we might get a disease", farms are work places, accidents do happen.

I think you're right. Mind you, way back a old woman who had been evacuated during the war told me that until then she had never seen a cow.

A good mate of mine's wife is a charge nurse at a big NHS hospital and at dinner one night the conversation got round to vegans. The are getting more and more vegan't in hospital ill because of following the vegan diet plus young children put on a vegan diet by parents who are ending up with things like brittle bones, stunted grown, rotten teeth, bowel problems, impaired cognitive ability and vitamin deficiency. The doctors there are now obliged to advise the parents to include white meat and fish in the children's diet not that they listen but the doctors are covering their ass and I don't blame them.

We humans need vitamin B12 from eating meat/fish, milk, or eggs. Eggs and liver are particularly nutritious.

Never eat the liver of a seal (or polar bear), because the liver of seals store sooooo much vitamin A that it is toxic to humans. Seals eat vast quantities of fish which are rich in Vit A. Polar bears eat seals. Vit A is oil soluble, thus excess cannot be excreted by the kidneys. B vitamins, Vit C, others are water soluble, so if over-consumed, the excess is simply washed away by the kidneys. People who take fistfuls of vitamins are pi##ing their money away, literally. Wait a minute, who ate seal liver?! Some airmen stationed in Alaska killed a seal and included its liver in a meal = off to the hospital. I read about their case centuries ago, so the details are gone from my head. I do seem to remember that their skin began to slough-off -- not a good thing and horribly ugly.

The bacteria living in the small intestines of herbivorous animals manufacture vitamin B12. We humans have these bacterium, however they live in the large intestine, oops! We humans cannot absorb B12 from the large bowel. The large bowel absorbs water out of digested food (drink plenty of fluids else you'll get constipation). Evolutionary-wise, humans have been eating meat and shell-food for untold millennia, so by being omnivores, we evolved not needing the gut bacteria present in herbivores. Humans cannot manufacture all of the proteins / amino acid building blocks of proteins. Herbivorous critters can. We evolved eating those critters.

The following article discusses the need for humans to get B12 from their diet and why. Article actually has too much info, but it is an interesting read. I learned some things and I love learning. My brain craves information even as by body craves meat. When I smell meat being cooked, both my dog and I salivate. Arf, arf!

Humans are Omnivores, we are not Vegans, Vegetarians or even solely Carnivores, we can eat pretty much anything and should do so to have a varied diet, our ancient ancestors ate about 2000 different foods modern humans less than 200, some even less than that (takeaways and ready meals).

    Lonewolf,

I work in a shipyard on the James River here in Virginia.

All of our Nations nuclear Aircraft carriers and many of our nuclear Submarines are born here...

But I particularly like the graveyard shifts....11PM to 7AM in the morning. Never was much of a daywalker. I hate day shifts.

When we are not too busy..we get to see the rivers wildlife in it's natural habitat....and I mean to say....it is a rough neighborhood out there. Not civilized at all. If you fall in an drown there are all kinds of things which will pick on and eat you...in little pieces ....bit by bit....

We even have Otters.....swimming around...usually in pairs. When the Otters are around.....the fish disappear......they know better than to hang around.

Sharks in this river too...it is plenty deep enough...seen dolphins too ..."The Flipper " type...or are they called Porpoises???

It is not Disneyland out here in this river...even the crabs will pick you apart for dinner...or lunch ...they are not fussy.

Or as the olde man used to ask me.......if you had a heart attack out in the woods on the trail.......how long would it take you to become a fossil???

The answer is ....you would most likely never become a fossil...you would be eaten up ....unless the things that would normally eat you ...became a fossil too!!!

The worm is our ultimate Emperor!!!!

Agree about the difference in how kids grow up nowdays...

I remember one day backing my car into a parking space in the back yard. In my mirror I saw a Hawk resting on my fence in my rear view mirror. When I opened the door I saw that the hawk had something in his claw. I reasoned to myself that this hawk has caught one of the neighborhood rabbits which frequent mine and my neighbors yards.

When I got out and approached the hawk on the fence the hawk took off and dropped the rabbit. The hawk then flew of and sat on a fence across the yard. Of course I walked over and looked at the hawks kill. It was not a rabbit...it was a neighborhood kitten....and was heavy for this hawk to carry off ...and the hawk tired and dropped it.

Again....this is nature at it's best and it is a rough neighborhood.

One morning I fed the cats outside near my car...I put their food out and the cats came a running. The squirrel up in the tree did not like it an commenced to raising Cain in the manner squirrels do...making noise at me and the cats.

I heard the squirrel but did not give it much mind...and neither did the cats with easy food in front of them.

Suddenly a huge ruckus occurred in the tree wherein was that squirrel. While the squirrel was being irritated at the cats...a hawk swooped down and grabbed that squirrel out of the tree only pause long enough to get a more firm grip and then take off....right in front of me....I got to see it live...close up.....wildlife in it's natural habitat....doing what wildlife does.

It is a rough neighborhood out there....even deadly. It ain't Disneyland out there. And that's just in my neighborhood...
