    Good morning Dale,

I got the hint of media hype ... actually thought the author/editor just not knowledgeable ... re the snakebite kit.

How can someone pump out 5 - 6 bites and plan to walk home with pet ?

I've been bit once and it fortunately was a dry bite. Snake bite kits are only good for damaging more tissue and causing infections. No professionals use old type snake bite kits currently. If your bit, get to emergency medical ASAP. If it's envenomed you have to get antivenom. Other wise there will be tissue loss for the strongest of people and worse for those not in great health. The very young, very old or medically compromised can easily die from a full dose of venom from all rattlesnakes and water moccasins and possibly from copperheads. If you get bit from a coral snake, you probably had to work at getting bit, so don't.

I agree about the author and editor....NO knowledge and writing bad info on venomous snakes is dangerous.

I have only had 2 types of snake ever be aggressive toward me when I was backing away from them. Water Moccasin and King Cobra. They were memorable.

    Good morning Dale,

So true. The best snake bite response is to walk to some care center.

I have a WWII US Army Medical Corps snake bite kit. It is a collector's item for grandchildren.
